Introcomment:

I bought this little Creator set by coincidence. I was placing an order on shop.lego.com and noticed that this was on sale for 1.98 USD. Who can resist something like that  . So I bought it. I am a sucker for those small Creator polybags. I even bought several candy can sets and the cardboard boxes with awfull sugar-crackers to get the hummer and two other sets. Yes maybe I am a little weird sometimes

The build:

The build was easy. I think it took me almost 3 minutes to build this. Including time to open the polybag, sort the bricks and drink some coffee.

Pro's and Con's

It's a neat little cement truck, but there's plenty against it:

Con#1:

The top of the driver's cabin looks unfinished. You can see the window through the grills and the attachment for the cement mixer also looks like it's lacking finishing design.

Con#2

The Cement mixer looks bad. The technic axle sticking out makes it look...well..strange. I don't recall seeing a cement truck with a rod sticking out of it.

Con#3

Where's the number plate and rear lights?

Con#4

The front is nearly ok, except I think it lacks the "Mack" in truck

After some consideration on how to evaluate the set, I found that I would give it a poor or below average grading. Now I could do that, but instead I've decided to overhaul it instead.

"You've been overhauled"

Let the MOD'ing begin

The MODding:

I decided to fix the 4 Con's.

Which meant MOD'ing the cement mixer, the front, the roof and the rear number plate

The Cement Mixer MOD:

I changed the technic axle to a shorter one, reducing the part sticking out of the rear to a near zero

The Rear Number Plate MOD:

Using one of these, I made this:

Adding red rear lights and a number plate did the trick in my opinion.

The Front and Roof MOD:

7876creator027.jpg

The roof has been given a little more "attitude" and height. The front has been given some chrome  and square headlights.

Here's a few more to drool over  :

There's always fun to have with a set that looks a little dull in the beginning.

Wouldn't you say so?
