castlestrike666 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 (edited) This is the WIP of one of my largest mocs ever made! It's not yet finished! What you'll see isn't the half of what it will eventually be! Measurements: 4 32x32 baseplates wide & 5 32x32 baseplates long, so 20 baseplates in total. Enjoy Kings' Fortress Small Inhabitants Comments are welcome! Edited September 25, 2008 by castlestrike666 Quote
Zorro Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Wow... thats impressive ! I am from Belgium as well and I wanted to ask: a) where do you live exactly? b) how secure is your house?? any alarms? guns? dogs? I'm just joking man.... Keep up the good work, cause it seems it will take a long time to finish ! id wish i had so much building space... Quote
Shoc Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Wooow, that's very big! Very nice constructions in there too! So much detail and accessories, I really like it! How long is it taking you to build? :skull: Quote
Nyundi Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I love your ducks! I've never seen that technique before, did you come up with that yourself? Quote
castlestrike666 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 @ Zorro, I'm from Roeselare, West-vlaanderen. And yes it's quite well secured! I've put some axemen in front of the door, and my army is protecting the castle! :skull: It'll be quite some time to build! Now It's 'bout one month and 2 weeks since I've started, and it's far away from finished yet! I was experimenting to make ducks.. I wanted some details on the water, and since I'm not that well stocked in yellow and other stuff to make ducks out of bricks, I had to do it in another way Thats why I came up with the idea of scorpion bodies and minifig hands Quote
Guss Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 wow big one, and nice and full of details! is it a work in progress ? I didn't see the last roof. Quote
DarthPineapple Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Oh my goodness, that's just AWESOME! Quote
Erdbeereis Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Wow, that's looking amazing! The tree with the vines hanging down is wonderful, and so is your rickety bridge. I really look forward to seeing the finished product! Quote
Teddy Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) Dear castlestrike666, that is looking mighty impressive thus far! I really like the detailing you have done on the enterior. Is this castle modeled after an existing castle? Is what you have build the keep of a larger structure and can we expect more exterior towers and curtain walls? Or do you intend to make a giant keep castle? The landscaping looks very good thus far. I'm still wondering where the water of the waterfall comes from? Are you planning a rised river/ lake somewhere? As a side note: You could build the water sideways instead of studs up. I always really like the smooth surface that gives. I'm not sure about the tan plates in the landscape, personnaly dark green or brown would be more appealing to me. But thats just my opinion. The tan now kind of "jumps" of the screen, but that might just be the photo. Things always look different in real-life. Thanks for sharing your work in progress and keep up the high standard! Kind regards, Teddy Edited September 26, 2008 by Teddy Quote
Norrington Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 This is so unbeleivably good. Sir, you have set the standard much higher (much the worse for me ) Why don't you have a MOC expert tag? These MOCs look pretty expert to me. Quote
castlestrike666 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 Thank you all for the great comments! Look, you've just all made me cryyy of happiness! @ Norrington, what's a "MOC expert tag"? @ Teddy: It's not based on a real existing castle. It's just an own creation. About the tan, I must say that it "jumps out of the picture" because it's a photo.. In real life it's not that bright. The meaning is just to make a castle. But there is going to be an exterior part inside of the castle too! But this is just future talk Not for the first weeks... So it's more like a keep. The waterfall is just flowing out of the rocks, so it comes form an interior river.. I know it's not realistic yet, because behind the rock the castle starts So the waterfall will be lowered. Quote
Aliencat Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Very cool stuff, it's starting to look great are you bringing this to Legoworld as well? (will it be finished in time?) Quote
castlestrike666 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 Very cool stuff, it's starting to look great are you bringing this to Legoworld as well? (will it be finished in time?) Nope, normally I won't bring it to Legoworld... Because there are too many detailed things that you just don't see into such a big layout! But I'll bring it to clubweekends of Belug.. For instance the one in Mechelen within a few months! Don't know if you'll be present there? Quote
