Hello everyone!

I just thought of an interesting question, and that it, should lego make more monument sets like the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal?

I answered yes, and I personaly would like to see A building in my state, the Renaissence Center.

I think I would like to see more of these sets, but I probably wouldn't buy them. Mainly because I don't like spending hundreds of dollars on a set that I will just look at.

However I do like seeing reviews of large sets so I voted yes. I'll just let others spend the money

I say NO !

No one of us, (except the spies from Megablocks and co.) wants to see TLC filing for bankrupcy after all. I think these sets cost too much and one only buys them if he'd bee the only one or one of the few.

We can and will build them ourselves , like our great builders in the past have always done. From the pyramids to the space centre... we will never stop building

The big building from New York in sand green (I cannot find the english name now, but in Dutch is it "the Vrijheidsbeeld) was nice.

The Eiffeltower was not bad.

The Tah Mahal was nice.

But I would never buy a set like these even if they were in normal dutch toystores. It doesn't appeal me too much.

I'd like more monumental buildings (which imo don't have to exist in reality) but only if they were in minifig scale (which is of course for real existing monumental buildings very difficult and much too expensive sine they would be much too big).

Exactly ! I feel the same with every other set that doesn't have MF's in it (although I do have the Enzo Ferrari )

I feel I really should be able to actually play with it...

If I want a statue of liberty (or any other monument", I will build it myself

But I, can go with an idea to just sell it in a online shop or a few international Lego shops, as said I think it is not financially managable to get them in any large Lego store...

I voted no and it's not because I don't like the monument sets. I think they're beautiful, but I also think they're just enough. At BrickWorld, I saw Jamie Berard, one of the set designers, asked several times why they don't come out with more of _______ and the answer was always because they'd have to produce less of ________. So if we saw more monuments, we'd see less modular Cafe Corner style building, or less Creator or Factory sets. Plus, coming out with a monument every year or two also helps my wallet.

Poll advice: There isn't enough difference between 'maybe' and 'not sure' to justify separate options. Also leaving those middle-of-the-road options tends to weaken poll results. If people are forced to choose between yes or no on an issue like this, it can spark more conversation, but the 50-50 options usually give people a safe out and you don't get as strong of results...

I voted "no" for the same reasons as Hinckley. I also agree with him on polls; a yes/no produces better data. People who "aren't sure" or "don't know or "don't care" should just think more and vote later!

(By the way, just because something is big doesn't mean it needs an image thats 1,712 x 2,288 pixels... )

Notre Dame, Arc de Triumph, Taipei 101, Sidney Opera House, Petronas Twin Towers, Tower of Pisa, Neuschwanstein Castle and Brandenburger Tor would all be great (and of course there are many more). But I don't think I'd buy them, because my wallet doesn't let me . I like to see them, but I don't think they need to make sets like these more often, just the way it is now is fine.

I think that it would be great to have all these sets. But many people wont buy it though. It will be so expensive!

I second Neuschwanstein Castle! What a terrific set that would be. Minifig scale, bitte.

I think a classic architectural wonder set needs to be both interesting to build and display, and well-known around the world. I'd suggest:

• Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria (thanks, Fluyt)

• The Golden Pavilion, Kyoto

• The Forbidden City, Beijing

• St. Basil's Cathedral, Moscow

• The Acropolis, Athens

I voted "no" because they are usually very expensive; I prefer spending my money on lots of smaller sets instead of one incredibly big one. I also voted "no" because of Hinckley's comment..... though I'd be very tempted to buy a LEGO version of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.... St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin would also be great, though I find Vienna's cathedral is much more impressive and beautiful as the one in Dublin. Ok, I admit as an Austrian I might be biased. My minifigs are atheists right now. They have no church.

I'd say yes, while I wasn't a fan of the last ones this was just personal taste. If one more suiting to me like say BigBen I would try to get it.

i said yes. i dont care if they cost too much, i like them. i am saving up for the Taj ma hal. they should make sets like MT. Rushmore, or The Empire State Building.

I like them too, but once a year is enough.

For that reason, I voted no to 'more often'.

I am curious as to what next year will bring.
