These lots are offered by a guy, he sended me a look-alike ebay message containing a link to this:

Did anyone else receive this message???

My brother also got the same mail !

http://my-lego-collection.piczo.com/?g=38981427&cr=2

Im sorry to say this but does anyone believe he can sell it this cheap ? HE STATES he will for pay shipping to about anywhere!

He says his son needs urgent brainsurgery...

But actually that is just the reason I dont believe him because in Europe (italy including I think) we have an obligated insurance that pays for these operations.

PS: Hes retired and has such a young son?

Also he says he doesnt use ebay because urgent but in another line he says "its the biggest collection on ebay today" (star wars lines i think) Boy, he even forgot to delete that... :pir-angry:

AND THE FINAL "KILL": WHY WHOULD HE OFFER FREE SHIPPING TO AUSTRALIA FOR THETHIRD COLLECTION if HE lives in Rome, Italy?? :pir-devil:

DONT BUY FROM THIS GUY HE WILL RIPP YOU OFF

Its obvious that this is a total scam.. But whats odd to me is that I recently was "watching" a lego lot on ebay with similar or same pictures.... I may be wrong about thit but I'm fairly certain. :pir-cry_sad:

Did he send this via PM? If so, who is he?

I think he's a fake, and I find this line funny; "There is alot of evidence to suggest that there is also a space monorail (6990-1 or 6991-1) and/ or a red train set included."

If he had a monorail he would know, and why use the "-1" notation anyway? It sound like he's be browsing Bricklink/Peeron but knows little of what he is selling.

Yes. I think that's what he has done. It's all on a free site too... :sceptic:

Not PM, but email...I think he must have seen bidding me on a lot of Lego...and I used my brothers account too to bid on Lego sometimes....

I didnt keep it, but it was basically an email from ebay (or one resembling Ebay) saying an "ebay member contacted you"

His name was simply "ebay member".

I posted this to warn people and to see if someone else received it, but i think most/all members are smart enough to see his scam anyway.

I have send an email to Piczo about this guy yesterday, but received no answer.

I think its 100% clear hes scam, if you read his texts, you find many contradictions, he just copied them from ebay (lazy sc**)

I think that it is a scam,he will be able to make a lot of money if he sells it on ebay! Why sell it here where you can get cheated?

I already reported it to Piczo, but havent received an answer yet...

I hope no one is foolish enought to buy something from him.

The EB forum members are smart enough because they know the real prices and descriptions and maybe because I posted a warning but other non-lego collectors might be convinced to buy it since they dont know that much)

I also sended an email to him asking nicely to remove his fraudulent sales but I havent received an answer yet.

Thinking of it... he must be a crook, why else calling himself "ebay member xxxx", and he also said responding did no good, since he was quiting ebay and would not respond.

Why that username? and why quit ebay? Its free and you may always want to buy or sell something later, why have the trouble deleting (even an unused) account. He does seem to like using the Ebaysystem to send people mesages.

And even that is forbidden, contacting someone to buy or sell something outside eBay is not allowed !

I forgot to say that.

If that's not a scam, then I'll eat a Lego skeleton MF... I hope you also reported this to spoof@Ebay.com if they found you through Ebay.

Thanks for the heads-up.

As for the insurance, I can tell. As for all the rest...

The Italian message "Il mio nome è Adrian Pana e vivo a Roma, Italia..." has been translated by Google or something like that; too much nonsense. Adrian Pana, if it's a real name, sounds like a Romanian one.

Most boxes are not Italian. We don't have set name, piece count and so on.

In this picture you can read a date; any Italian would write it 16-9-08 (day, month year).

Ok, may I've been watching too many Law & Order episodes...

I contacted both eBay and his free websitesponsor, no response at all...

Now I have contacted him and I used a diferent email and said I wanted to buy one of his things.

I AM GOING TO PLAY ALONG WITH THIS, just to see I can "unmask" him

WHY? you ask? He has put another set (harry potter) for sale on his website... in DUTCH !!! Im from Belgium so I can read it, why would a Roman typ this in DUTCH ???

100% safe deal...yeah right...

I WILL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE !

I received this answer:

Hello,

Sorry for my late reply,

The best price for me and for you too is EUR 300.00 and i will pay all the shipping taxes. The shipping is for free ! The deal is done through eBay and will be a 100% safe deal for both of us. eBay will contact you shortly with further details. You will receive an Invoice and there you have more details about the transaction and payment terms. For shipping I will use UPS, you will receive the package in maximum 3 days.

I need the following info:

Your eBay user ID : ...

First Name: ...

Last name: ...

Address: ...

City: ...

State/Province: ...

Zip/Code: ...

Country/Region: ...

Price: ...

I will contact eBay as soon as I receive the info. You must read carefully the

invoice and follow their instructions about payment and shipping as stated.

You will have a 7 days inspection period and if you don't like them or if there is any kind of problem regarding the item (I doubt that), you will get a full refund from eBay from my account.

I will wait your email

Thank You !

ME again here... an invoice from eBay? 3days to receive a package from Italy? That would be the priority airmal costing well above 100 euros for the size of that. IT WEIGHS ABOVE 70 pounds (35 kg !)

And a FULL REFUND ??? I can even keep the Lego??? WOW,that sounds to good to be true (and obviously it is :pir-wink: )

its a scam, but a VERY elaborate one. That is quite an impressive collection. Anyone seen the pictures of 'his' collection anywhere on bricklink or any other site? That would be a dead giveaway

Posted (edited)

THIS WAS HIS ANSWER, now I am waiting on his "ebay invoice", I wonder if he would dare to scam eBay as well by involving them.

Hello,

Ok then, I will go and make the deal insurance with eBay and the shipping as soon as possible. eBay will contact you with an invoice regarding our deal (shipping&payment).

Please follow their instructions for best results !

Thanks !

Im starting to enjoy the fact that fraud is actually expecting money from me. I hope I will get some information about him (at least the country he lives in or something)

I STILL HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING from eBay or Picso yet. I have now contacted both of em them TWICE !!!

SUPPORT, Mr.eBay??? I dont know Piczo, but eBay should have responded by now...

I am also going to contact Yahoo now as well, I am trying to learn that guy a lesson he wont forget so he will seize his activities.

He is clearly a newbie in his "trade" and I can only hope hes still pretty young so he can learn he shouldnt try to ripp off peeple on the net.

I will not (yet) report him to any government facilty or (internet)police, just because I think he is pretty young: I dont want to "hurt" him, just change him.

Am I wrong about this? Should I go "soft" on him, or should I send all mails and proof to the (real/internet) police???

ANY COMMENT about this, please....

Who nows the guy is actulally for real?? :oh: We would be missing the deals of our life here

I also agree that it sounds like a scam, but there's always a chance that it might not be. Since he has an ebay account, you should check his feedback score and see if he has made any recent sells. Since he is in a desperate need for cash, he should be selling or have sold some things. To validate that the account actually belongs to him, you can give him a wierd phrase to put into his about myself page. If he can't do it or doesn't comply, we can be certain this guy is a fake.

This is our latest email exchange. I am certain he is a fraud now.

First i received this:

Hello,

The invoice from eBay with the payment information has been sent. eBay is a very requested web-site. Probably you will not receive the invoice with the payment information in " Inbox ". I would recommend you to verify, to take a look also in " Bulk " , " Spam " , " Junk " , ETC . Please let me know when you receive the invoice from eBay. In case some errors or mistakes appear, or if you do not understand how it works, please contact me and I would be very happy to help you.

I will wait your email

Thank You !

Not receive it in inbox? Yeah, sure...

Then I received this and answered, his mail is under my answer:

PS: just trying to scare the dude...

No, I havent received an invoice from ebay yet...

BUT

I have received an email from what is an Interpol agency (i think)about the fact your emailaccount, website and IP-adress (whatever that might be) is under investigation (i dont know for what)and if they have permission to use the mails I send you ???

They included this link underneath (and yours in the mail)and advised me against making a purchase untill their investigation has been completed.

http://www.interpol.int/public/icpo/default.asp

What the heck??? Is this a joke?...How do they know I send you email??

You are selling the pirates (and castle) for real are you?

I will wait untill I get some clarification first. I will only pay through eBay anyway now, that way i am sure it is insured.
