Cmon guys post

If you want the topic closed or deleted I will do it, but why ask us to post if you wanted it to be closed?

We have all seen the terrible results of the hurricane and I am sure we are all thinking about the poor people who live in New Orleans and the surrounding areas.

I will keep this topic open for now so that others can post their thoughts.

Jon.

P.S. I edited the title as I felt your "(GULP)(SOS)(HELP)" was unnecessary

Your right languages,I did over-use the smilies but that's cause I like e'm.I changed my mind about wanting this topic closed, but this is the saddest natural-disaster ever, the first categorey five that has affected me in Atlanta G.A U.S.A,babies are dead, including them there are seventy-thousand people dead, all we can do is pray to God that the survivors are ok,and another thing we can do is donate our time and money.Let's take a moment to pray all the survivors. That ends the moment of silence.

keetongu I feel with the people, and wish that they will be safe....

but keetongu saddest natural-disaster ever? Remeber there people starving, and dying in greater numbers in Afrika..

As I said, I wish all the best to the peopl where the Hurricane hit, and we will help if need... But this is not the biggest or first natural-disaster, all we can do is hope.....

unfortunately, we've seen even worse natural disasters in human history but it probably is too sinister to compare disasters with one another...

sure, we've seen it all before in Africa, Asia, Middle East, but i guess you never get used to seeing humans suffering, where ever they are. my heart goes out to all of the people who are victims of this calamity and i hope the US government, the people and the state of Louisiana are learning from their mistakes, because, either way you look at this, they could have preveted this distaster from turning into a real tragedy...

it will probably take years to recover from this and on a hman scale, many individuals never will, let's just hope that they won't get another hurricane anytime soon...

Right.....We know its a sad event so why do you have to keep on reminding us?

Well it might have been avoided if the administration didn't cut the costs for the break-water construction by 90% (to support iraki war). Now Ironically, Europe is sending oil to the USA and Cuba is sending medication as well as doctors.

Still, this is a tragedy, I think the whole world saw the images of thousands of people parked around this stadium. :(

Like any other warm blooded American, what does George Bush do when he hears the news? Goes on vaction of course. Had it affected Texas, you can bet he would've been over it like a dog on red meat.

But honestly, I don't see the reason why they're shooting at the Helicopters...I can understand the looting food but the shooting at the civilian helicopters is too much

The people are very angry that they didn't get there earlier,so their mad at them. That's all.

i think the people who were shooting were just gang members, not your ordinary american...

You, I don't mean to be racist and I hope I don't offend anyone when I say this but let's face it, the people (civillians) that were shooting are your average American...your average black American.

WTF? you don't mean to be racist?

And....... let me guess, some of your best friends are black too, right?

And... you don't want to offend anyone?

I assume you are joking, or trying to get a rise of out people.

No, Civilians are shooting at the Helicopters...

Nothing like a good old American protest in the face of a natural disaster!

But really, that's not right is it? People aren't really that stupid they'd shoot at a helicopter because it came late? Tell me this isn't so! If someone shot at my helicopter because it was late I'd order it to return immediately and everyone in need could just suffer. Talk about biting that hand that feeds ya combined with better late than never...

I have never seen a black man in my life. Many people I know have skin much darker than mine but black, nope I have never seen it.

I don't watch the garbage they put on the news. I knew before the hurricane hit that looters would come and violence would start and that people would die for doing stupid things. I didn't need to watch the news to know all of this and I am glad I didn't because i would have to see all the same half truths that they spout off about.

Just so I can go along with this conversation I will refer to people darker than most as "black" a term I am not fond of (just like how i am not white). Anyway, black people are just that, people! :oo I know crazy thought. They eat different food than I do and wear different clothes too. They like different music and attend different churches. The black people have different names and like different activities than I do. But . . . now catch this, so does everyone else regardless of the darkness of their skin, the language they speak or the the country they live in. Black people are just that, people. Please treat them as such. Treat them as you would want to be treated. Enough of this crap about color of skin or difference in speech.

Oh and just so you all know, one of my best friends is indeed "black." We call each other "my twin brother" because we share so many common interests.

Help your nieghbors in need, when it is your time of crisis, they will remember and help you in return.
