Best fortress for the skellies

Hi to all!!! I was wondering which existing Castle set you guys would use to house the Skellies. In my opinion, the Skeletton Tower is simply awful. My vote goes for Vladek's Dark Fortress. I own this set, and I must say it's simply GREAT. It's HUGE and the color scheme (black, dark red, and dark tan) just blend beautifully with both skellies and trolls. I would like to hear your thoughts. Cheers!!!

Actually I'd rather build my own Skeleton Castle and integrate the Skeleton Tower in it.

I think you have to build, as I scream clone did, your own "castle" for your skellies ^^ the result can be very nice

I agree with everybody that you can always get best results by building whatever you want yourself.

But I also want to say that I don't think people give the Skeleton Tower the credit it deserves. Sure, it has issues with functionality, but I really like the way it looks, and the amount of special pieces that come with it are superb: the princess, the evil wizard, the red dragon, the lightning pieces, the bone cage, the horse barding, the lava rocks... So many sweet things crammed into one neat package!

So yeah, I do like the Skeleton Tower, despite all the hate it gets.

Personally, I think the Skeleton Tower is great. But I don't own it, if I find it on sale, I would buy two of them: one for the set and one for the great pieces it has.

And indeed, the best fortress for youre evil army of skellies, is the one you make on your own. Good luck! If you have built one, don't hesitate to show it here on Eurobricks.

Hi again. It's funny how no one has answered the question. I'll quote myself "existing castle set". Of course, MOCing is always the best option, but the idea of the question was to see which existing Castle sets you could blend easily with the new fantasy sets. Cheers...

I think you could use Black Monarch's Castle pretty successfully. I don't own Vladek's Fortress so I don't know how it would be.

Skeleton Tower works very well as an entrance to an MoC castle. It really looks the part! I think it's a great set.

For Skellies, there is no good fortress if you don't like the Skeleton Tower. That's my opinion.

The Tower is good as a part of their Castle. It's too small to function as a castle on it's own but too nice to be left alone.

As people have said, MOCs are always the best choice in the end. However, I will go with what you have said about existing Lego sets. Vladeks' Dark Fortress is pretty good, if you can replace the flags. I personally like the Night Lord's Castle, though it could be expanded to be better. Of course you would need to change the color scheme, but I like the design for evilness.
