Bane is wearing clone armor in one of the clips!

Not just any clone armor! It's Sergeant Denal's armor!! I hope that doesn't mean he is dead!

Good eye! :oh: But why do you care so much for Denal? He was only in like one episode. :sceptic:

To be honest, I would actually find it good if we would see more clones dying.

Btw, I just received this info with my SW.com newsletter:

beacon271_largetout.jpg

Coming off of the record-setting first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Cartoon Network announced today it will premiere Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decoded, a full slate of 22 enhanced episodes from season one of the CG-animated series from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. Using text windows to provide in-the-moment insights into all aspects of the sweeping galactic conflict -- from trivia to background on characters and storylines -- Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decoded enhances each episode with exclusive content created by the Lucasfilm Animation talent responsible for the show itself.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decoded is Cartoon Network's first-ever season-long commitment to enhancing the content of existing series episodes. Offering a new twist on the beloved series and serving as an unprecedented primer for faithful fans as well as new viewers, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decoded premieres Friday, May 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT only on Cartoon Network. This full season of enhanced episodes will continue each Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the regular time slot for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, leading up to the fall 2009 premiere of season two.

There is also an example of how this will look like on SW.com: LINK

Hmm...no one's posted here for a while.

Well, yesterday, I saw a commercial on Cartoon Network saying this Friday and every Friday on, there's going to repeats of all of the episodes, except now in a special "decoded" version. I think that C-3PO and R2-D2 are "hosting" the show this Friday.

Way to repeat what I already posted two posts above yours! :hmpf::tongue: Except that I didn't know about the "hosting" thing when I wrote that. I wonder what that is about. :look: The voice-over people in costumes perhaps?

An interesting choice having Artoo and Threepio host "Ambush". They weren't even in that episode. It should have been yoda.

On a side note, from what I've seen so far, most of those Decoded facts seem to be somewhat obvious things. :sceptic: But it will be good if there is some EU information in there too, like there was when they did the same thing for Ben 10 Alien Force. Either way, I'm looking forward to these.

Whoops.

I didn't check the above posts because I thought that there were too old.

Sorry about that.

EDIT: It seems just like those things that they do on Disney Channel. You know, stuff like "High School Musical: Pop-up Edition".

I saw hostage crisis and I really liked it. The episode was much more darker and mature than most, especially the fight with the senate guards and Aurra sing shooting the poor schlub in the head. I saw how they toned down Bane snapping the guys neck, I'm glad that kids didnt need to see that. Why did they have to bring back Ziro? He is one of the most annoying and worst charachters ever!

He's a she? :look: umm yeh ok

I think the last episode was the best (or at least my fave) The bounty hunters were cool and it nicely was peiced together

I have 2 cents to add - from the narrative viewpoint I was left VERY unsatisfied. I had the impression that the episodes were cut together from something longer, like there has not been a good storieboard to start with. The interesting moments were too short, the boring conversations too long. No interesting characters, even if one is Darth Vader! Very bad editing. I am not that used to TV series (I am into movies) but compared to other animated 22 minute tv shows like Futurama or south Park, Ghost in the Shell SAC or even the Simpsons, I feel that CW doesn't make it to tell a good story.

From an aesthetical viewpoint (that is also quite important for me) I found the new improvisation of the music horrible, perspectives on the action is sometimes weird, sound effects are great. But FIRST OF ALL I find the drawings terrible, first of all the characters. I really dislike them. Not only the facial expression, movements, but more the overall look. Perhaps I am the only one within the EB people who dislikes the CW character drawings but really likes the Lego minifigs. I think they look cute. :sweet:

I too, feel your pain. The animation is horrible, and many of the character designs are not true to the characters we saw in the movies, especially Anakin, Obi-Wan, the battle droids, and many other characters. On the note of the minifigs, I like most of them with the exception of the Anakin minifig. There's only so much distortion that I can take.

Well, since this thread has been revived (although for quite hateful reasons :sadnew: ), let me take the chance to ask everyone: How are you liking the "decoded" episodes? :classic:

I think they are alright. Sometimes they point out rather obvious things, which is annoying, but at other times, they give you interesting EU facts and other behind-the-scenes type info, which is good.

I'm not so crazy about the comments of the characters that "host" the episodes, although some of them are funny sometimes. For example, it was interesting that they had Grievous hosting Destroy Malevolence and have him try to clear his name. Of course he has all right to blame the idiocy of the BDs for the fate of the Malevolence, but it was partly his fault too since he knew exactly that the BDs are good for nothing and let them fight Obi Wan instead of facing him himself anyway, which he admitted.

On a side note, it still pisses me off how unspectacular this episode ended up being in comparison with what it could have been. :hmpf_bad: I mean, come on, they could have had Plo Koon fighting Grievous in space for pete's sake! Stupid Network! Oh well. :sadnew:

Btw, has anyone noticed that when Anakin, Ahsoka, and Secura infiltrate the Separatist base in Defenders of Peace, in one scene, Ahsoka's lightsaber blade clearly casts a shadow? That makes no sense at all!

Oh well.

Any news on the second season?

While I may agree on some of the character designs, I have to ask: If you don't like it, why watch it? :hmpf: There's plenty other Star Wars stuff out there to watch, read, or play.

Though maybe it was asked for since the name of the topic after all is "How did you like it"....

How are you liking the "decoded" episodes?

I haven't gotten to see many, but from what I've seen, most of them are very obvious and highly dumbed down for the kids. I didn't know that they had people host the episodes, though. As for the lightsaber shadow, I read that somewhere, but I can't remember where. Sorry. But they had a reason, I think it was similar to holding a light bulb up in front of a brighter source of light, or something.

Well actually that isn't senseless- well anything that don't let the light through it casts a shadow- lightsaber glow -but they aren't transparent- so they do cast a shadow- it feels strange but so they seem to do in movies (actually only in ep3 the shadow can be seen though) but after all it isn't biggest problem in the series if you ask me...

I have Season 1, but have only seen 1 episode of season 2, Senate Spy, which was horrible. I haven't seen any others, though, because I have dial-up and can't watch them on the main site.

I just watched Episode 15 of season 2 and it was horrible. In the end I fast-forwarded cause I didn't want to waste any more minutes of my life on this. It is a miracle, how some episodes are really nice, but most are simply boring. The animated series "Clone Wars" was much better. More action, more entertaining. I also like the comics of the CW, but somehow the TV series is just not my cup of tea. Also the drawing, I dislike it. The characters have such strange and unsexy faces. They neither look nice, nor sweet nor nothing. In the comics faces look more nice. I am just happy that the lego figures look sweet (Windu, Ahsoka, Dooku are my favorites) and that comics and the old series delivers me some background so I can play these stories with Lego. I have no idea how someone can like episodes like No. 15. No idea.

Edit: oops, wrong thread. sorry.

Really? It's that bad? I know Padme episodes usually suck, but I didn't think it would be this horrible. :look:

But yeah, even though Season 2 is better than the first, this show is still nowhere near as awesome as the original was. :sadnew: I too like to reenact scenes from SW:CW with the SW:TCW minifigs and I have some SW:CW MOCs planned with them.

We miss you, Tartakovsky! :sing:

Funny, I hated the original series. It had that choppy and slowed 'comic' timing, and very little humor. This one is much better. I fail to see why poeple hate it so much... then again, I've only seen one episode of the second season.

Nice, Oky! I am looking forward to seeing them a lot!!

That sounds cool, Oky. I'm liking this series better, more of a humor and easy flowing episodes. The old one was good, but it was basically a plot connector for the Episodes 2 and 3 with cool fights. Padme episodes tend to suck  I kind of wish there would be more Clone trooper based ones, maybe introducing a new or little known clone commander.

I like how the series is getting a much darker tone. The first season started off very kid-friendly and kind of silly. But now the show is taking on a much more "mature" theme to it and is much more enjoyable to watch.

Just dropping in to say that I've watched several episodes of the current Clone Wars Series, and I just can't seem to get into it. Honestly, the entire thing seems incredibly slow paced - even during the action scenes. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by the incredibly fast paced animation on the first series, but the battles in the new one just feel very lackluster and unexciting.

Also, I hate how the Jedi in this series are so underpowered. Sure, the Jedi in the old series were overpowered, but that's what made them so cool. They were practically gods, where as the new clone wars series seems to be limiting them as much as possible. Take the most recent episode, for example - how on earth is a simple space pirate giving a trained, lightsaber wielding Anikan Skywalker a good fight, especially considering how many other powers Anikan has at his disposal. Heck, these space pirates shouldn't even stand a chance against three Jedi and four bounty hunters - in the old series, Ani and Obi would probably wipe them out in about half a minute. And it would be awesome, unlike this episode.

Anyway, not really interested at all - I'd rather watch shows that actually leave me with someting other than boredom.

It's not just season one- it seems to come off and on whenever the animators need it. I was browsing the episodes recently, and took a look at Duchess of Mandalore. In this episode, Obi-wan gets angry and starts Force-bashing the Mando assassin into the walls before throwing him off a balcony. And yet Anakin couldn't just Force-push Hondo off of a cliff?
