clonefactory Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Captain Fordo Custom item featuring MMCB's new Pauldron and Kama items. The helmet, antennae, and guns are all casted items. The neck also features a new "cowl" idea that I created to be able to use a colored head without it showing through on some helmets. Here is a picture. Instructions Clone Factory's Neck Gorget 1. Using a plain black head hollow out the inside of the head finishing with a 17/64 bit. I used succesive 64th bits to get the final result (i.e. 13/64, 15/64). Make sure you stay in the center. 2. I found that when applaying enough pressure a bit in reverse will chip/melt away the plastic as opposed to cutting it. It is much harder to cut as you need to hold the head which is quite difficult. 3. Once you have hollowed out the head you should be able to cut it into 3 equal parts. Like donuts. 4. Now using a head that you may not want to use, afix the (donut) to the head and apply pressure ontop of a sheet of sand paper (fine grit). 5. Sand both sides of the (donut) until it is the same thickness as the neck of the Lego head. Quote
~Bitil~ Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Wow. That is utterly one of the best custom clones I have ever seen. Quote
Matteo Kenobi Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Wow that looks amazing I love the holsters! Quote
SWMAN Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I really like the holsters and details on the kama, but prefer the plastic ones over the fabric ones. Still, great design. Quote
Zorro Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) The holsters are great, and so is your Captain Fordo minifig ! Wow. That is utterly one of the best custom clones I have ever seen. Well..., I have to agree, you have now really surpassed yourself I am a reasonably new member, but I have seen your previous creations. They were all fine without exception, but you are advancing with large steps. SO: a very big from me Edited October 5, 2008 by zorro3999 Quote
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Lettme guess. MMCB? Still, very nice. Quote
Manta Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 This is very cool. I think you did a great job, and could you include teh prices of the custom pieces you used? Quote
ditto Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Awesome work as usual. very nice artwork. actually i don't really like the holsters. i do acknowledge though that with minifigs there are limits to creating holsters. Quote
NewRight Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Great work! When done correctly these customs can give a great effect and yours is no exception. Quote
Zorro Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 You have made some very good creations, and you have told us you are willing to sell them (or at least thats what I remember to have read somewhere) Could you please post their prices? Not for me but for my nephew who loves Lego Star Wars. And I think some other members might be interested as well... Quote
clonefactory Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 Thanks all for your kind words and I hope you checked my site aswell (the link is in my sig). As far as pricing goes I can tell you that I mostly only sell on eBay to allow for a better / secure experience for the buyer and the seller. I use BIN (buy it now) pricing so that there is no price war and the maximum price is $40.00 usd plus shipping which Fordo would fit into due to the amount of casted pieces. If you wish to be notified of when I am listing items or you wish me to list a specific item please email me at theclonefactory@shaw.ca. Thats about all I feel I can get away with in a thread that is not dedicated to sales. I don't wish the wrath of any Mod upon me. Thanks. Quote
