The Middleman Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Well I want some wookies and a few more battle droids. I'll definatly be getting some Tri's tho. and I'm really gonna make the most of the clone walker aermy builder set ;) Yeah, for that elite army of captains! ;) Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I heard that actually all the red cones are normal infantry clones under the command of commander cody. :/ Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I just finished the building of the Arc fighter. I am most impressed by this set - it looks better than I thought. The clonies are much better than expected (The light blue/grey is really nice). I also thought that the front of the ship would not look that great but - wrong again. However: 1) the whole ship is pretty fragile (like the wookie catamaran) 2) having the ship without the astromech is not great due to the opening between the two top cokpits 3) the system to open the wings is worse than the X-Wing 4) total absence of a landing gear I would still really recommand this ship. Like the wookie catamaran I need to modify it to create a landing gear suitable for this baby (I will probably copy the one from the X-Wing). Hope this helped the undecided buyers ;) Quote
sam89 Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Well I've built the Turbo Tank and it's great, bu there's one problem - there's not more room left on my shelves :'( I'm going to ave to start taking stuff apart |-/ Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Sam, I will build the Turbo Tank this week-end, cannot wait ;) What stuff are you considering taring apart?? What an awful sacrifice in the name of ROTS *wacko* Quote
sam89 Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 I will probably take apart the Orient Expedition Balloon and the Temple of Mount Everest first, and then I might have to take apart Wild Collection and the Sopwith Camel :'( Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I know how you feel about the camel :'( When I came back in France, I was in such a hurry I totally messed up the pieces of the camel and the red baron and I lost the instruction manuals - how dumber can you get :-D At least I can find interesting pieces for my SG Billund module (so its not all bad) ;) Quote
sam89 Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 could you buy more shelves :) Well I do have a small wall left, but then the room would start to look messy I think. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Sam, you don't have to expose everything, put stuff in some closets, basement, under the sink... Quote
mutley777 Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 what about a shelving unit with doors. that would hide them all away in a tidy way Quote
sam89 Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Well I don't have any room to put a shelving unit, I have quite a small room. I probably could hide a few away in cupboards thogfh. Quote
mutley777 Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 with all the new sets this year i am going to have to find more storage myself if i want to keep displaying everything. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I've got LEGO everywhere right now, and even once I get real closet storage, I'll have to dismantle my City/non-ROTS SW to stop it from looking messy. :'( Quote
chewie Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 i know how all of you feel im in my bad room and i have absoloutley no place to put any lego its all crowded on one shelf :'( Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I finally built the ARC-170 that I had purchased a few weeks ago. This is truly a nice model. If any of you are contemplating buying this set, I would highly recommend it. Building the set was a lot of fun, esp. trying to figure out how the center gear would lift the wings. I very much like the main cockpit which opens on all sides. The wings are not the sturdiest, but still nice. And the overall detail is what I like the most about the set - not to forget the three clone pilots. This is definately my favorite of the Episode III sets. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 It would have been betterif it came with an all white clone, just for fun ;) Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I really like the arc but I made a couple of remarks in another thread (do you have the new sets). I have another comment though: the wings are too heavy due to the gun pattern, therefore it will be crappy to modify it in order to have a landing gear: even if it will look much better, the wings won't be straight *wacko* Now I understand why its called the arc :-D Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Yeah, the wings do bend down at the edges. And ARC stands for Advanced ReCon. ;) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I'm not crazy about the drooping wings but the detail of the model make up for it. I also like the color combination- nice contrast between the colors. Quote
