The Middleman Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 sure... but remember the story of the combo set? wasn't that confirmed by Mr.X as well? and wasn't that taken off line as well? No, it wasn't... it's coming this fall as a Target exclusive. Quote
sam89 Posted July 2, 2005 Author Posted July 2, 2005 Yes, the Ultimate Space Battle is still coming, in October. Quote
Gojulas Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Ha! This is kinda funny. I just today decided to try and build a B-Wing from parts ordered off of Bricklink and the Peeron inventory. I'm a total newbie and don't have any spare parts, so I'll have to get everything. (Except the parts in the Rebel Control Center, I'm just interested in the ship.) Oh well, I'll still do it, and most likely get the one released in January as well. Maybe I'll do a different color scheme. Quote
LegoSW Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 What is the space battle? Sorry I haven't heard of it, please tell me what is included. Quote
sam89 Posted July 3, 2005 Author Posted July 3, 2005 It's a set coming out in October that will include Anakin's JSF, Obi-wan's JSF, a Tri-Fighter and two Vulture Droids. Quote
snefroe Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 sorry for all the confusion , people. What i meant was that eb announced the news of the combo set a while back. then it was taken off the eb website (i'll assume eb was asked to do that, because tlc didn't want to announce the combo set at that point) . that hasn't happened in this case, suggesting that tlc approves the unofficial announcement of these new sets via eb... that leads me to believe we can expect more surprises before december, that's all... it's just a wild guess... jonfett Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Just found this picture on brickshelf. This is a cross between both of the slave ships and fits Sams desciption, so this could be what we will see next year? Jon. Quote
SuvieD Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 As much as people might like that I would say no. That has at least 700-1000 pieces. My thought is that LEGO will be making these as minifig scale sets with the standard .10 per piece price point. I like bigger sets but I prefer the $1-50 sets more. I would like to see the slave 1 with bounty hunters as a $25 set. That one would be like $60 *wacko* . Quote
sam89 Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 Yeah, tat set is FAR too big. I'm guessing the one we'll get will be pretty much the same as Jango's, but it Boba's colours. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 That set is one bad (as in good) set though. Tis a shame we can't get it. :'( I hope the model ain't as flimsy as Jangos Quote
Vader Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Yeah a slave 1 that size sure would be nice, but i doubt lego would ever do one that big. Mind you i never thought we would get 3 versions of the same ship so you never know. Quote
Sauron Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Dengar, Ig-88, and 4-lom? 'bout time they got some more bounty hunters, although I would like Bossk and Zuckess more than Dengar and 4-lom. |:| Quote
spotfrog Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Another 'rumor' confirmed (not that it wasn't already)- http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/le...ws20050708.html The B-wing looks great! Edit: Uhh... oops... didn't see the pinned topic glaring at me... :$ Quote
jtk Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I agree, the B-Wing looks excellent but the cockpit looks a little weird. Seems to protrude out too far. Anyways, I'm looking forward to January!!! :oD Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Tks for the info spotfrog ;) Yeahhhhhhh, dark red Obi's JSF !!!!!!!!!! The Bwing looks WAYYYYYY better than the old one, this is just sweeet !!!!!! Cannot wait for more pics !!!!!! Quote
languages Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Im getting bored to death with Star Wars Lego. They just keep releasing more medioca models which are to expensive and theve been released before.... Quote
snefroe Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 hm... i don't really know what to think of the b-wing it seems to me you get another collection of weird, useless parts if you buy this. it doesn't really impress me. it looks better than the original but i think there's more potential in the b-wing design than we're seeing here i'm curious about the red dome on the red starfighter... i'd be interested in buying the red starfighter and the robot on it, but i won't buy the combo set... Quote
Precious Jazz Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 The B-Wing looks great! I can't wait to see pics of the A-Wing, V-Wing and TIE Interceptor. Slave I and the Ultimate Space Battle sets I'm unsure about getting since I already own the Jedi Starfighter & Vulture droid set plus both Boba's original version as well as Jango's. Nice to see R4 has the right coloured dome this time. Quote
DoubleT Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Ofcourse i cant see the minifig, but he seems different, the colors.. But so far I like what isee.... Quote
Khorne Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 The new B-Wing is more accurate to the real thing than the first one was. I hope that the A-Wing looks good, too. I think I'll only pick up the A-Wing out of these two, since that's the one I don't have yet, if I have money left, I'll take the B-Wing, too. I'll defenitly buy the V-Wing and the Ultimate Space Battle, my Clones could use some more materials. The Slave I sounds cool, but I don't know if I'll buy it, I have the other two and I don't like them that much, the 1st one is too small and the 2nd one is too flimsy *wacko* . If the TIE Interceptor looks good, I might buy it, too, but I'm not sure. *EDIT* If you look carefully to the B-Wing pilot's helmet, you can see that it's different than the common helmet used in the 1st version. sam89 Posted July 9, 2005 Author Posted July 9, 2005 I LOVE the B-Wing, it looks much better than the old one. I'll definitely be getting it. I'm looking forward to the other pics as well, which might appear at Comic Con next week: For fans attending San Diego Comic-Con International next week, look for these and more great LEGO products at their booth in the Star Wars Pavilion As for the Ultimate Space Battle set, I'll try and get it off of eBay, although the price will probably be ridiculous. It does come with a new R2 unit though. Quote
