DoubleT Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Its Good That Boba's and Jango Slave 1's are about same size....... They ARE the same ship!!! lol I like it alot, the minifigs are nice, and i Can always use my Cloud City Boba ;) Nice details one the ship, and there some henges on the front of the ship, wondering what kind of weapons is in there *twisted* Fun how Star Wars.com now relase Lego news *satis* Quote
sam89 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 I love it. It was basically what I was expecting, a similar design as Jango's but improved. The colour scheme is improved as everyone else has pointed out, it is bigger, more detailed and has more pieces. The figures look good too, IG-88 certainly looks good in his metallic colour. Quote
MattZitron Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I like it, dunno about the Dengar, may have to see him up close. AND why couldn't we have got a Bespin Boba? Quote
DoubleT Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Well People must have something to Complain about ;) Quote
KimT Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 For a set being redone and remodelled for so many times I think TLC did a good job on this one - except for the Boba minifig *devil* *devil* Why oh why do we have to get so many of him that are the same :| Thank You TLC for doing a almost good job and the F****** it up at the end again - this is the viking helmets over again..........A must have, though, since I'm a collector and doesn't have the possibility of saying no to a single SW set. sam89 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 I think the reason Lego didn't give us the same Bpba as in Cloud city is because they wanted to keep that figure an exclusive. It makes me wonder whether the next Stormtroopers we'll get in a set will have the new legs that are included in the Imperial Inspection. Quote
SuvieD Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Well, I was worried but now I am sold on it. I thought it would be the same as Jango's but it clearly isn't. Jango's 358 elements, 2 figures, $50, weak design (falls apart) Boba's 537 elements, 4 figures, $50, stronger design (shouldn't fall apart) Not only does Boba's slave have a better build and more pieces and figs but it also cost the exact same as Jango's. More parts, more figures, better set design, and all of it for the same price. Only a sale could make this set any better! Besides IG88 looks awesome. I have yet to see a custom that looked half that good. And once you get him place a small black rubber band and he is perfect. Great find Chewie! Quote
n'henk pas Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 i don't know it yet..... you know it's a bit fat from top to bottom..... but, i probaply buy it as my last set (always say that) because i still have no slave-1... Quote
Khorne Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Hmm, I don't know, it looks almost the same as Jango Fetts' one. The wings are greebled and it's sturdier, but IG-88 looks like crap, Dengar's torso is the only positive thing about Dengar and the Bespin guard is so, well, ..., boring *wacko* . As for Boba, I already have two of them and I'm almost not using them, so I don't see a reason to get it :/ . Quote
DoubleT Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Well Lego wants Cloud City Boba to be an exslusive Quote
mutley777 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 cool set! great minifigs! i'm done. :-D Quote
Beagle Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I like it. It seems that they took the things that worked about the Jango version and just improved and updated it (no need to re-invent the wheel, after all). The color scheme is great. As for the figs.... well, I guess it makes good financial sense to recycle the Ninja headgear for Dengar, but it does seem like a slight copout. The Bespin guard is fairly unremarkable, but it's neat they made him black. I really like SuvieD's idea of adding a small rubberband to IG-88, that would really make it spot-on! I like the gunmetal metallic color quite a lot. Can't wait to see the A-Wing, Interceptor, etc. Now where's my re-designed AT-ST??? :-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Beagle, To follow you (yeah I'm off topic I know...), they could re-issue the AT-ST making the set like imperial inspection !!!! A Hoth AT-ST, with snowies, rebels and taun tauns !!!!!! Yeahhhhh Quote
Legoman Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 back to the han solo i don't think that he will be in the set cos if he was wouldn't they put him on the list of minifigs :| and i think its a great newie kind of well the same but diffrent you know what i mean and some how its better :-D anyway i love it Quote
Beagle Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 XWingyoda, Yeah, I'm all for that kind of Hoth set.... as long as the AT-ST looks better than the old version. Though I think it makes more sense to have a Hoth set that contains tauntauns, a wampa, and a probe droid. Er, sorry, off topic again. Back ON topic, though, regarding the Slave I..... so, are they pretty much completely phasing out the old-style hinge plates? You know, the ones that always used to be car roofs, with the four little teeth on them. It seems they're always using the new, locking ones now. Not sure how I feel about that. Sometimes those locking ones offer too much resistance (the front of my Sandcrawler tends to rip off when I open the cockpit). And they don't look quite as elegant somehow, with those big knobby hinges. But I guess they are stronger. :/ Quote

n'henk pas Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 i do think it's a pity they didn't make a new han in carbonite though... Quote
prateek Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 that is the best Slave 1 ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Legoman Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 that is the best Slave 1 ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry but i just had to agree :-D Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 The figs are Ok but I'm kinda dissapointed with the Bespin guard. Dengar torso looks useful and so does IG88 silver elements, Bobas what I expected. The slave 1 is ok, mostly just JF with a little tweaking. Still I hope it is much sturdier and has some neat features. I'll pick one of these up though to be honest, I'm not in any hurry. SO we are still waiting for pics of the A-Wing and V-Wing. Quote
Khorne Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Don't forget the Interceptor Sarg ;) Yes, but the official SW site said that they were going to give pics of A- and V-Wing first. Quote
