Deinonychus Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 YES! Lando in his disguise as Skiff Guard Tamtel Skreej! Lando is the rare case where I approve of the skin tones on Minifigs...because , we can never get enough LEGO Lando :D Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Ok... figs for the sail barge will be:Jabba the Hutt Slave Leia Han Solo C-3PO But the prize by far..... A new Lando Calrissian. Um, not to doubt, but where are you getting that from, BloodyJay? Meh, I was hoping for a few more figs, since this seems like a PERFECT fig-pack... :/ Quote
Legoman Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 wicked ;) i cant wait *sick* so is it coming in june :oo Quote
Christian Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Cant wait! 2006 is gonna be fantastic: new city sets, batman sets, Jabbas sailbarge :oD and all of the other star wars sets. Quote
languages Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 More Star Wars.....a big grey block.. I suppose it will be ok and Ill buy it, but bring on Batman.... Quote
Vader Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Well weve waited alonggggggggg time but finally we will get the sailbarge, to me this shows a real improvement on legos part at listening to its consumers and i tip my hat to them for that. 2005 has been great thanks to lego but i gotta say that i think 2006 will be even better. As for figs well it wouldnt surprise me if lego gave us a few new figs remember nobody ever expected us to get a uncle owen fig and we did so who knows what we will get. Quote
MattZitron Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Ok... figs for the sail barge will be:Jabba the Hutt Slave Leia Han Solo C-3PO But the prize by far..... A new Lando Calrissian. No Jedi Luke? That's a bit strange. But so cool about Lando!!! Quote
languages Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Maybe we'll also get a printed Boba in this set....... Quote
Zane Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 OMG! We....get.....SPONGEBOB! I'll finally be able to have a mini Plankton in my pocket, AND it'll be made of Lego! Oh yeah, and the Sailbarge. Quote
Vader Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Ummm guys to the best of my knowledge a new lando has yet to be confirmed, so dont get your hopes up yet. However i do hope that we get one. Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The only problem with this set is that it will be the same as the Crawler MF wise !!! Very expensive set, with 80% of the MFs we already have !!!! Yeay another R2 (bartender mode), C3PO, Fett, Slave Leia, Jabba... TLC will do the same: have a cool rare MF (or 2) to beef up the set !!! A Bounty Lando would be soooo great indeed !!! However I am really excited by this set !!!!!! Luckilly I bought two of the Barge escort ships !!! Quote
KimT Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Just as I thought there might be a slight chance that I could actually save some money - TLC decides to release more and expensive sets - damn 2006 will be yet another year in poverty... Can't wait....hope for a new Lando and perhaps a Boba.... :| KimT Quote
Sweden Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The LEGO Company is smart... It's going to be "very" interesting to see the very first pictures of the Jabba's Sail Barge set especially with all the "Oh's and Ah's" most poeple say as I'm most certain it'll be heavily <insert that tiresome argument> and a far cry from what it could be both as a set and a mini figure pack and I'm not really surprised that they will finally release it. Deinonychus Yeah, like the Sandcrawler. Heavily <insert that tiresome argument> and so so figures with silly play feathures. Awesome set no. But a decent one. I'll admitt to that. Mattzitron Yeah, we can dream on. Most unlikely that we'll get new mini figures accept the ones available already. Maybe Watto could pass as that blue organ player... *Laughs* ;) Starwars4J Perfect mini figure pack yes but don't expect everyone that was seen in the movie. vader316 Yes, let's all sing alongggggggg! *Laughs* ;) Yeah, lets all bow to the God's The LEGO Group. I find it hilarious that so many seem to think that they "do" listen to and care about the AFOL and KAFOL fans of the Star Wars line when we're just a few percent of their sales figures because as said a thousand times before it's "ALL" else then us they make bucks on. :| The coming release of Jabba's Sail Barge is no real surprise and not really un-expected and it's nothing else but a "very" smart marketing move by The LEGO Group as the license "probably" will end in 2007 and with this fact in mind they will try and milk as much money out of this cash cow as that's what this line is to them. I mean, when one do look back at what has been released as sets and how they were released over the past 6 years it "do" follow a very clear pattern with "really wanted" sets not being released until a couple of years later like the AT-AT and it's a "very" smart move by The LEGO Group making the line staying alive. If The LEGO Group would've started off with releasing the "really wanted" sets like the Millennium Falcon, Imperial Shuttle, Jawa Sandcrawler and Jabba's Sail Barge I'm "fairly" certain that the interest and sales for line would've dropped dramaticly and I'm "fairly" sure that it "wouldn't" have become what it is today. Trust me, The LEGO Group knows "ALL" this and planned it ahead already from the "begining" as that's a very smart business move to make if you've got a potential cash cow and another "proof" of this is all the re-designs we've gotten lately as most people "DO" want more and better sets then originally released. I tip my hat off to The LEGO Group being smart business men and to AFOL & KAFOL's for being so naive. ;) xwingyoda You're on the right track because that's "what" Jabba's Sail Barge "will" be as a set and mini figure pack. kimt I totally agree with you. It's a very expensive hobby to collect the LEGO Star Wars line... :| My personal opinnion: Just like all of the other "larger spaceships and vehicles" that were released in the mini figure scale it'll be heavily <insert that tiresome argument> and a bad mini figure pack just because of the simple reason that sets "are" made for a certain "price point" and therefore a vehicle like this simply can't be made in scale and as a mini figure pack. sam89 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Circa 800 pieces.Sarlacc confirmed. Definite Slave Leia w/ chain. Coming in June. Ok... figs for the sail barge will be:Jabba the Hutt Slave Leia Han Solo C-3PO But the prize by far..... A new Lando Calrissian. Good news about the Sarlacc, I'd never thought of the possibility of it being included. I'd like to see a Desert Skiff as well. Is that ALL the figs? It doesn't seem like enough, I would definitely have thought a Luke would be included, since we haven't got one in flesh tone yet. I'm looking forward to the Lando though :-D Quote
captaintau Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hey! New member, first post, highly excited by Sailbarge and also Batman sets. My (very) humble opinion: It makes no sense to have another Luke - we got him with the Desert Skiff. The two sets should compliment each other. I just hope the respective sizes are somewhere like relative scale. Not so close though that the 'barge is Quote

SuvieD Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The LEGO Company is smart...Sweden - The One... And Only. Sweden I don't think people want to get smarter. It is the same with so many things. Yet, customers really can't call the shots totally. If LEGO is listening to us we will see more minifigs per set, higher piece counts and better thought out designs. Lets look at the recent popular series Vikings. This is not licensed so it is somewhat different but I feel it can be used for comparison. Sets for the first time in a long time have a price point below the 0.10 per piece standard. Good job LEGO. The two largest sets have only 6 figures each, which by the set design causes both to feel lacking. A large set in the 70's or 80's would have had at least 10-14. Poor job LEGO. The designs for most sets are decent yet the loose helmets, lame "defensive" weapons and skimpy set designs (except for the fort and catapult) leave these looking good but not excellent. Fair job LEGO. So really out of what LEGO is doing recently I think they are doing a fair job listening to the older customers. If you take into account SW and resrictions of cost and license then obviously they will come up shorter than they do with owned themes. I still don't think that if they lifted the resrictions that LEGO would sell them any other way. Throw in a a few printed parts that are SW specific, and in some common figures and one or two rare ones and make the set reasonably accurate to the movies. It is a good formula and it is making TLG a lot of money. LEGO won't stop doing things this way unless everyone out there quits buying it up. I like LEGO products and i think LEGO does a good job marketing and selling their stuff. It is a business and there first concern is to make money. Smart goal for a business. But if LEGO thinks I will spend any of my money to get a $50 plus set just for a few parts and minifigures they are wrong. It is not worth it. I can spend $50-100 on ebay and get 20-30 lbs. of LEGO stuff with 20+ figures from themes better than SW. As long as therre is demand though . . . Anyway, I could care less about the Sand Crawler/Sail Barge type sets, and the more I think about it Batman will be nice to have all the new parts and molds but I would rather LEGO came out with a new castle series (not KK2), a space theme or a new pirate theme (non-4+) that had yellow minifigures and lots of them. OOM-30 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 in 2006 with seven new playsets Well, B-wing, A-wing, V-wing, Tie Interceptor, Slave I, and Sail Barge makes six, so what is secret #7? Edit: Apparently on another website, they are talking about a Super Star Destroyer set, possibly minifig scale. Maybe they will be doing a bounty hunters set because they just released IG and Dengar. I still want Bossk :-D Quote
ApophisV Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Lol, you can say "FBTB" or any other websites' names here without of fearing a Mod telling you that you just stepped on thin ice... ;) :D Quote
OOM-30 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Actually the other website is bricklink, but at the time I wasnt sure. Quote
mutley777 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 wow! :-D i can't wait to see this set. 2006 is going to be another great year for star wars lego fans. Quote
dunamis Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I thought is was mentioned by some members who when on the Lego tour that a UCS Jedi Starfighter would be released in 2006. Maybe that is the 7th set? Quote
DoubleT Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Indeed... 2005 have bin a great Lego year... And it looks like Lego does the same great things in 06... Maybe better.. There are so many creatures on the Sailbarge in the movie.. But cant name them lol Just know they would be great Minifigs :) Quote
snefroe Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 1) Spongebob? to be honest, i had to look that up... i'll assume this is close to duplo, not minifig world? or... let's just hope it's duplo 2) i also think we should start a revolution in the company and make SuvieD president, but only if he keeps his word :P and only if he lowers prices, and sends us, poor eb members, free lego sets, and only... 3) the sail barge... i believe we saw a proposal once on how a ucs sail barge would look like. my guess is that the real thing is going to be the exact opposite of that... but let's wait and see... 800 pieces, J said... So i'm thinking 100-150 Quote
