DoubleT Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Well my point is that in Episode III Vader is slightly different from the Classic trilogy Vader. So maybe the Lego minifigs are also. Maube the Vader in the Transformation set is different: Of cause the Vader in the new Tie, are the same as old, is an Old Trilogy set :) Maybe the New Trilogy will be different like in the movie.. Orlego Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Everything looks different when you take a photo that is very close the minifig. ;) Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Oh, I see. I thought that th eTIE DV was a new one... Well then we have to wait... still April?! Quote
Vader Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I would be surprised if lego did change vaders helmet, from what ive heard/read the helmet has only been made to be symmetrical so its not realy a big change. Quote
Orlego Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Yeah, they have a feature on the new DVD trilogy that shows the making of the new mask. When but side-by-side you can barely notice the change. Quote
andy0113 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I think its most likely that the helmet is the same as the old one, but it's just been stretched horizontally in Photoshop in this photo so that it takes up more of the image. Sort of thing I do all the time ;) Incidentally, on the subject of Darth Vader minifigs, I was wondering if someone with the 10131 Tie Collection set could help me out with some info - is the head of the Vader in this set made of the new bluey dark grey? I havent got this set, so I dont know. Its just that Im trying to figure out how many variants of the Vader minifig there are now (as Im a bit of a completist when it comes to minifigs, and I want to make sure I have them all). Quote
Kaminoan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Hey Guys, I think you are all familiar with Brickmodder's work, he made light up light sabers long before Lego and his don't suck. Any way he has gotten one of these figs and taken it completely apart and posted comments on FBTB: http://www.fbtbforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=64 He states: Also, the face pattern is different from the previous Darth Vader face. Doesn't elaborate much but I would say this is a new head piece. Jared Quote
andy0113 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 It looks black to me Andy. ;) nah I mean the actual head, not the helmet! and yep the Vader fig in the new sets has a new face - doesnt have eyebrows (to match Anakin in the DVD version of ROTJ, where they airbrushed them out). Quote
sam89 Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 There's a new set on S@H called Imperial Inspection. It comes with 10 minifigures - Emperor, Darth Vader, 2 Royal Guards, 2 Imperial Officers and 4 Stormtroopers! I hope it's actually a NEW set, and not just a combination of other sets. I don't have an Imperial Shuttle yet, so I might get it when it comes out in the UK. http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=7264&cn=4&d=5&t=3 Thanks to ed_dotcom on FBTB for the news. Quote

sam89 Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 Hopefully this will set Lego on a trend of releasing sets with lots of figures, but it probably won't ;) Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Why is it already gone from the homepage? Can they put it there by an accident? This set is very good. I want some of them... :o Quote
Orlego Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Yup, thats Lego ;) I love the Royal Guards and always wished I had picked up more before. This set is great if they do release it. The shuttle has always been one of my favorites. :-D Quote
The Middleman Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 WOW! I'll actually buy this! Too bad they didn't improve on the Imperial Shuttle, though... Quote
