sam89 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 Thanks for the pics, it looks excellent! I love the new Emperor! Quote
mutley777 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 the final duel set had imperial officer's these are imperial commander's :) i was right about the uk price tag. Quote
sam89 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 On page 30-31 of the new Online S@H Catalogue you can see a new MINI Jedi Starfighter from Episode III. Will this be part of a new line of MINIs? Hopefully we'll find out soon. Quote
mutley777 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 ask lego if you can buy 40 replacement legs. :D Quote
theoryzero Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Thank you theoryzero ! I am glad fbtb didn't accept your membership yet :P I cant wait to get my set now... :| Oh one question : where did you find it ? It is fine with me. I would, of course, posted over here anyways. This site is very resourceful for finding info on the latest sets so I check over here even though I don't live in Europa. Anyhow! Surprisingly I did not get this set from S@H or my local Lego store at the Mall of America. No, I did not pay for same day shipping and in fact, the Lego store was not sure they would get it when I called on Tuesday night. I checked over there last night because I was doing some shopping at the mall anyways, and no luck. Next I went to TRU to get some of the Bionicle tubs and just about fell over when I saw the Imperial Inspection set there. So, yes, it is coming to retail (at least at TRU), and in some places, it is already there. Happy hunting! TZ Quote
Jipay Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Damn, you lucky guy ! It's great to know this set will come to retail since it means sales and cheap new stormies :-D This definitly looks like an imperial army pack to me :) Quote
sam89 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 Rebelscum asked Lego whether this set will be available at retail and Lego said it will only be available at S@H and TRU. Quote
Jipay Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Well just like the Y-wing and tie fighter then ! But anyways, TRU is doing sales a lot so it's good. The only bad point is for people who are not living nearby a TRU and cannot be delivered by S@H... Both usually concerns the same people and this is not normal... :'( Quote
ApophisV Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Dudes, a dream come true..... *wub* *satis* *satis* *satis* *satis* Let's hope we'll see the whole line soon!!! (And in stores even sooner... ;)) Quote
Jipay Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Since it's written hard to find I would say it's an exckusive of some sort. But since it's also written sneak pic who knows ? In any case I'm sure that if lego can earn some money by releasing this, they will Quote
ApophisV Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 If they really release a whole line, I wonder what size it will be? This model looks like its bigger than wave 1 minis but smaller than wave 2 / 3 minis.... Lets hope they will get back to basic and release some sets in the size of the first ones... Quote
David85 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 The mini Star Wars sets never were the same size, or to scale, so it doesn't matter what size they make them. Quote
Orlego Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Your Lego store did not carry the Y-wing and tie fighter combo set? Our store had them from the beginning. Quote
sam89 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 I think this set looks pretty good. It's a bit too wide, but it couldn't really have been made any thinner. The cockpit looks good I think. What other MINIs do you think we could get? Maybe a Tri-Droid, ARC-170 and Turbo Tank? Quote
theoryzero Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Sorry guys, no pictures until next week. This is Valentine's Day weekend, I'll be out of town. Anyhow, some observations: - A quick glance at the instructions makes the shuttle look exactly the same, step by step, piece by piece. The hinged door in the back now uses click hinges, but I did not notice any other major difference with the exception of the bleys. - Vader's face is different, he now has scars on both sides and no longer has eyebrows. I think this may be the version of the face that ships with 7263, but I cannot be sure since I do not have that set yet. - No lightsaber for Vader. - Stormtrooper heads are still blank and yellow, I was half-expecting flesh tones! :-D - In case you did not notice in the pics, the Imperial Commander torso is the same as the Imperial Officer in 7201. Finally, I think any SW Lego fan would of loved to have this be the first version of the 7166. I thought that set was spectacular then, so I am not surprised they barely changed the shuttle. This is truly a cool set with lots of figs. I own over 350 sets and I cannot remember any that had 10 figs that came with it. TZ Quote
Jipay Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 turbo tank could be hard to make IMO. Especially the weels *wacko* Quote
David85 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Just use the 2x2 round plate thingies for the wheels. Quote
sam89 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 Over on FBTB, jungle1006 asked whether he was allowed to post info on two new Star Wars sets but the mods said no. So after a PM I found out the following information. Someone showed him a catalogue at a store which had two new sets, a Sandcrawler and a UCS Death Star. The Sandcrawler came with 3 Jawas, R2D2 and C3P0. If he remembers correctly, the UCS Death Star costed $300. I'd like to see the Sandcrawler (who wouldn't) but I'd be a disappointed if it only came with those figs (maybe there were more droids hidden inside?). I don't fancy paying $300 for a giant ball though, so I'd prefer it to be a Death Star II, although I'm still not sure if I'd get that for the price. Quote
CopMike Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 This IS an exciting week! *satis* Ok - first the Sandcrawler. A wet dream coming alive! :oD I Quote
Jipay Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 A UCS deathstar would be cool, but still, 300$ is not a little sum, especially for a ball, complete or not. I'm sure the whole thing would be a giant greeblies stuff. Maybe if it is a playset like the cloud city, it could be better but it wouldn't be that expensive. i've never heard of a dealer catalogue with prices on it though. As for the jawas, it wouldn't surprise me if it comes with those figs. 5 is still normal. I am really surprised by the number of different dealer's catalogue in the hyperspace lately. It's like 1 different for every shop around :/ Quote
mahjqa Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 A UCS deathstar would be cool, but still, 300$ is not a little sum. You'll be having more newgrey than you'll ever need. Maybe a lot of AFOLs will pick it up for that reason. (I hope it's a deathstar2, yeah) Quote
mahjqa Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 And another thing, slightly offtopic, but: Does anyone here know wether the ARC-170_Starfighter cockpit will fit in front of the new Jedi starfighter cockpit? That'd ROCK. (too lazy to use the EDIT button) Quote
Jipay Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Beein lazy is common to all the people of this board. We won't beat you for a new reply since it also increases the stats. 300$ of new gery, why not, bu it depends what you got... Quote
