November 13, 200816 yr Author I like the idea of Market stalls in the internal areas, then we could design certain vendors etc. Thrash, I feel your example layout is too jammed with detail, I don't think we need a set layout for the grounds as much. Good idea to raise as our next discussion/poll in future I guess. Cheers
November 13, 200816 yr Once we build a module, what then? How do you intend on assembling the entire castle?
November 13, 200816 yr Author Can I make the knights quarters?? I,m starting on building it soon. Of course you can, I would like to see a catwalk at the front of your build like everyone elses. You may start on the next one whenever you like, but i would like to see your first finished to spec. Cheers and nice detailing inside too. Once we build a module, what then? How do you intend on assembling the entire castle? Well, let me know that you want to be part of the whole thing, read the guidelines in the first post and then I can put you into a team. From there you can post your entry into the team thread. All to easy my friend.

I think I could have a good try at the Dungeons, but I'm a bit concerned about how you're going to assemble the entire castle in one place, because I'd rather not post away a module that I create.
November 13, 200816 yr really nice thrash! the 16x16 without walls will allow me to try something^^ as ISC said, I think we canmake some shop there, or maybe a training ground ?
November 13, 200816 yr I think I could have a good try at the Dungeons, but I'm a bit concerned about how you're going to assemble the entire castle in one place, because I'd rather not post away a module that I create. You won't have to send your module away. Instead, if the community decides you've created the best dungeon you just need to make picture instruction for it so that someone else could recreate it. Thrash, I also think that we shouldn't fill up the empty spaces with baseplates, but with individual segments like in the market village. That way it won't look too cramped, but will still have plenty in it. I like the idea of Market stalls in the internal areas, then we could design certain vendors etc. Thrash, I feel your example layout is too jammed with detail, I don't think we need a set layout for the grounds as much. Cheers really nice thrash! the 16x16 without walls will allow me to try something^^ as ISC said, I think we canmake some shop there, or maybe a training ground ? Great, it looks like we're all on the same page about the layout. In case ISC wants to post a poll regarding what direction the layout should take, here are two options that show what we could do with the space between the keep and the outside modules. V7 is, in my opinion, the way to go, since I made V6 to show that filling the empty space with baseplates would be a terrible idea. Also, ISC, since 3D Brickthing is inquiring about the final plans for getting all of the modules together, you might want to include something about that on the first post so people know what’s going on. ~Thrash
November 13, 200816 yr Version 7 by far in my opinion. It won't be cramped and will leave lots of room to be creative.
November 13, 200816 yr version 7 is the best in my opinion too Peoples will just have to makes "little scene/modules"and restrain themselves, we mustn't build too big modules( like the tree I posted in my romance topic , it's way to big to fit in our city I think)
November 13, 200816 yr Peoples will just have to makes "little scene/modules"and restrain themselves, we mustn't build too big modules( like the tree I posted in my romance topic , it's way to big to fit in our city I think) I agree. While your romance MOC was very nice, I think it was too big to work well as a tree in the EBCCB. It's hard to say whether we should set a maximum size for the items between the keep and the outside modules or if ISC should just decide on a case by case basis if the modules are too big. ~Thrash
November 13, 200816 yr Author Version 7 by far in my opinion. It won't be cramped and will leave lots of room to be creative. I agree with version 7 too, though I guess I already expressed that view. 3D, you don't need to send your creation anywhere, however if you can take some pics as its disassembled, this will make instructions possible for others to build it. Who knows, we might be able to get 4 or 5 people to build whole wall sections off the instructions and from those people we would have a great overall picture of what the community has created, Awesome! Man, I just realized that down the line we could come up with Community Town or Space station etc, the ideas are limitless I will put the already created list options a different colour to show people what is left too build too. If everyone is happy with Version7 in a week or so I will update that pic as the new scheme. Have a good holiday Erd!
November 13, 200816 yr Have a good holiday Erd! Thanks a lot! I think I will. I look forward to finishing the courtyard and starting on my other projects when I get back.
November 14, 200816 yr Great, I'm fine with taking instruction photos if need be. Can I make the Dungeon then?
November 14, 200816 yr Great, I'm fine with taking instruction photos if need be. Can I make the Dungeon then? Sure. The guidelines state: -More than one person may build a module, we will have a vote off to decide which is prefered. Eventually we will probably have multiples of each anyway. You can build the dungeon or anything else you want, just make sure that you make the walls right. Also, be sure to make the module the right size. In the case of the Dungeon, you should make it 32x32. ~Thrash
November 14, 200816 yr Welcome aboard Jim!I have put you into Alpha group and put you down for your two choices. As for the Hallway question, if you are going to link your two creations together, then make a hallway, otherwise it isn't necessary for each creation unless you are feeling creative You can always have a look at Sandy's hallway design as reference too. Cheers ISC Thanks, ISC! I will get started on mine ASAP. Yes, I was looking at Sandy's great design, too. It will just depend on how much I have left. Also, I had one more question: what is the purpose of having two teams? Are the wall designs different? I also vote V7 for the updated layout.
November 14, 200816 yr Author Great, I'm fine with taking instruction photos if need be. Can I make the Dungeon then? Ahh, now we are getting somewhere, finally one of you will take instructions! Wait, oh instruction photos, yes yes very good. I will put you down for Dungeon then. I have put you into Beta as well, please post your pics there for us to view. You may post one pic in the discussion topic as well to alert everyone too Sure. The guidelines state:-More than one person may build a module, we will have a vote off to decide which is prefered. November 14, 200816 yr Today I was looking at layout V7 and realized that it might be a problem for moving modules around if the 10 modules by the keep don't have an outside wall. To fix this problem, I think that those modules should also have the wall, and we can just fix the catwalk on those modules. That way we will be able to switch one of those modules with an outside module if we think that the structure fits a different location better. Plus, it might look cool to have a walk way right around the keep wall. What do you guys think? ~Thrash
November 14, 200816 yr It sounds perfectly reasonable for me, but I have not tried to build for the keep-parts yet, so there might be details that I have missed. On another note. I just completed the interior of my version of the carpenter. I will take pictures once there is sunlight tomorrow (if I can get up that early )
November 14, 200816 yr Well, so far everything you and ISC have suggested so far has turned out great, so I say sure!
November 14, 200816 yr My last post might have been a bit confusing, so I made the following picture to further illustrate my point. With the wall on the 10 modules by the keep, we could just shift the pieces on top of the catwalk so that it looks like they're facing out: That way it will be easy to switch modules between the inside 10 and outside wall if we decide that a different arrangement is better. Also, here is V7 with a slightly updated Keep (someone mentioned they wanted a Prince's Chamber, so I made room for one): ISC, here is the code for the updated list of modules. I figured you already have enough work keeping up with thumbnails and such, so I didn't want this updated layout to cause you to have any more work. 1. Main Gatehouse - Dragonator 2. Mainly, I just tried to integrate the list of items that were possibilities with all of the modules we already had listed. I tried to keep most of the shops and recreational modules towards the front left, while the military and industrial modules are closer to the back right. ~Thrash Edited November 15, 200816 yr by Thrash
November 15, 200816 yr I agree with thrash on that last note. It would definitely look cool to have a little walkway on the keep. I think that it also keeps it so that everything is still built by some guidelines. Which is better than having the inner buildings almost be a free for all
November 15, 200816 yr Could you please take me of building the Dungeon, because I don't have enough bricks for a 32x32 module. However, I've built a defence tower/wizard house/mini-dungeon 16x16 module and a 161x16 jeweller module.
November 15, 200816 yr Are the famous two teams debate rears up again. You know it was only so we could manage the all the people better (with Draggy assisting Alpha) and a bit of Team pride never hurt either. Ah, thanks once again, ISC. That's all for questions, but on the list, you put me down for the Wine Cellar and the Kitchen, but I wanted to do the Wine Cellar and the Servant's Quarters. Sorry for any confusion! I'm also go on the updated catwalk for the outer keep.
November 15, 200816 yr Author Thanks so much for all your help Thrash, when we don't get much sleep at home with babies and all my time being used for PtV its good to have a little assist. Cheers I have added some more things to the first post including a picture size limit and no of images to display as well.
November 16, 200816 yr Hi, I'm new to this website and love what you're all doing. I'd like to participate in this group building project by building a Treasury/Tax Collector/Treasure room. Do I need to join a team, or do I just post my creation? Thanks.
