Thrash, looking at your 4 buildings, placing it side by side certainly make me filled with envy. You have done a great job, and this is indeed a great start to this community castle build.

Well done, and keep it up!

I am just curious, if anyone knows what sets you get in order to obtain so many dark grey or light grey bricks? I don't remember seeing any of it which have large quantity. It will be very useful if anyone could provide any tips on this. I may actually have to acquire it somehow.

They will? Won't it look a little odd have one extremely-detailed, tiled wall, one exactly like the one ISC made, and another with stained-glass windows and arrow slits? :sceptic:

~Pickerel

EDIT (Didn't want to double-post): Guss, your wall looks good! I think the tiles are a little too centered, though.

I agree that it would look better to have them look all the same, but so far there are quite a few different looking walls.

Ok guys,

So me and thrash were talking and we were finding it to be rather cumbersome to try and go from page to page trying to find the creations that have been made so far.

So we decided to bring it all together with a webpage that I made. It is by no means finalized but i thought it would be a easy way to see whats been done and what still needs to be done.

Just check it out. If you like the idea I can keep updating it and possibly upgrading it a little. If not then no loss...

The site is at EBCCB Site

Let me know your guys thougts.

...Also on another note, its currently set up where if there are more than one MOC for a category both can be displayed, so just because the name is present doesn't mean its final!

Hi Stol, nice work on the webpage. Im happy to update the first post in the Discussion thread with links to all creations using thumbnails even.

How does everyone feel about this, make use of the created webpage or simply come up with a thumbnail/link gallery in discussion thread?

Stol, the website is good and neat. Its nice to see the creations in one look. However, from EB approach, I prefer all of our creations to be viewed within EB forums. Therefore, a thumbnail at the very first post in the discussion threads or a new topic to feature all updated creations will be good. Just my 5 cents. :classic:

I Scream Clone : damn... give me back my soul... so, I think I have the parts to make it darkgrey, I just don't have these pieces : 3660.png in grey or dark grey :/ but that s not very important if theses are in brown I think, the most important is the catwalk.

Thrash, Erdbeereis1: thanks ^^

Pickerel: the tiles are centred because I wanted to make it looks like it was repaired, and If I put tiles everywhere on my wall, I think with the other walls without tiles just next to it, it ll looks like it s a totally different building ( tonight I ll try to remove some dark grey bricks too ) , but with the centred tiles , I think it looks like it's a hole that have been repaired ( with some cracks ) so the entire wall don't have to be like this.. well, I think ^^

tonight (actually it s morning here, and I found a temporary job, so I'm working ^^ ) I'll try to turn the catwalk to Dark Grey, and I'll try to replace some dark-grey pieces of the wall, then I'll start to build my module !

I also thought , maybe we can build small things like little trees, little gardens or little scenes to put inside the castle court, to avoid it to looks empty, what do you think? ( I was thinking to build a little tree )

edit Stol: Nice webpage! ( sorry forgot to say it ^^ )

The main point of the webpage is so that we can post the layout and then have a hotspot on each location so you can just click it and it will take you to the pictures of that structure. We would have just done that in a post, but I'm not sure if it's possible to do in a post instead of an external webpage. The intent of the webpage is certainly not to steal people away from looking at EB. In fact, since Stol is hosting it on his University-supplied webpage, it would probably be best if he gets a minimum amount of web traffic.

Regardless of whether the webpage is done or not, I really like the idea of updating the first post frequently with thumbnails to keep everything organized.

As far as making directions go, perhaps we could just all recreate our creations in Ldraw. That way someone wanting to build it could just download the ldraw file and go from there. Also, if we use Ldraw for each creation, we could render the entire town at the end, even if we can't get every creation together physically. It might be a pain to recreate everything in ldraw, but I think the final product would be well worth it.

The aim of the webpage is clearly defined by you. Stol's efforts to maintain and update the page for us, is indeed time consuming and I appericate the efforts that he had done so far, especially the building of Mason. I think its fine to maintain this approach as it provides another alternative of viewing these amazing structures. I enjoyed viewing them directly in their Brickshelf or Flicker folder.

It's possible to create thumbnails and placed hyperlinks upon clicking and directing them to the exact post to its creators' where it explain the building process and concept of its structure. It will take some effort to build such index and maintain it over time, but it's defintely possible to do so. We could use the main discussion topic where ISC's first post is placed, and I I will help out to update thumbnails and directing links to respective entries from there. At this moment, this is something little which I could help out instead of building a section, if you guys and gals won't mind. I will love to build something like yours and others one day.

Really nice ICS, Beautifully done. And well done also to everyone else so far, the various sections are looking great, and the project seems to be progressing nicely. I am sorry to say that it might take me a couple of months to do the gate house, as I have at least 6 other creations to build in the next 2 months for the CCCVI contest first, however I will keep working on designs and will be of course happy to help anyone that needs it. I can't wait to see what the rest of you have been up to, it would be awesome if we could get all these modules together. :sweet:

That's a great fighting arena.

I like the simplicity of it.

One could say that the arena itself is a little small

But I actually think it's perfect. It fits the size of a module and it's obvious what's going on - the wizard is clearly cheating - enchanting his personal favourite with combat spells

I'm almost done with the exterior of the bakery, and am working on it some more today.

Great! I can't wait to see it!

On a different note, it seems like everyone is shying away from the more bland building, such as the poleturner, fletcher, and carpetner, so I came up with a few other ideas for buildings that could be in our castle:

Butcher

Jeweler

Training Ground

Archery Range

Physician

Knacker

Barbershop

Troll Embassy

Fighters Guild

Gambling Den

I think that all of them would be appropriate except for maybe the Knacker. Knackers are the people who would take dead horses or other animals and turn their bones into glue. I'm not sure if they were around in medieval times, but I think they were.

My favorite of all the ideas is the Troll Ebmassy...I think that would make for an awesome MOC by someone.

We've already knocked out quite a few of the buildings, so another option would be to expand the castle a bit. Since every creation is so small, they don't take long to make.

What do you guys think about knocking out some of the more boring components for more exciting ones or expanding the castle a bit?

Also, if we expand it a little bit it would probably lead to some a-symmetry in the castle, which I know a few people wanted.

I'm fine either way, but I do know that those ideas sound very interesting!

The troll embassy is a really good and funny idea. Butcher sounds rather nice as well.

Knocking out the boring buildings would be fine, but expanding wouldn't be bad either.

I have finished the tumbnail links for all the creations so far, please let me know if anything is missing etc.

Cheers ISC.

As for what I will build next im not sure, though I will add your other options to the list Thrash. :classic:

That's perfect!

Exactly what I had in mind. I'm just about finished with the bakery and will post pictures in the next day or so.

The thumbnails are great ISC...they make everything a lot easier to keep track of.

You seem to have forgotten Sandy's Princess Chamber in the thumbnail section, though! Better fix that before she sees it or she'll be so sad!

I like just having the list of other possible creations at the bottom. We can always rearrange them at the end or add a few more in here and there if people build enough stuff...that's the beauty of having everything be so modular. :classic:

Great work, Strawberry! I should finish mine soon, as soon as I get my bricklink order. Great thumbs, but make sure you add Strawberry's fine bakery.

Sure! Just say that you want to join the build and ISC will tell you that you're in Group A or B. Then you can just start building.

Stol and Thrash, your designs look great! :classic: Your right, Thrash, this is going to be one awesome castle!

Some things came up outside the world of plastic, so I'll be a little late on my designs.

Awesome. Can I join then please?

This is where playing attention comes in handy I guess  I added you onto Team Beta (my team) about a week ago. So go ahead and pick something you would like to build and let me know.

It can be anything on the list, even one already built by someone else. :classic:
