Glad to see I'm on a reserve list. :classic: Thanks!

However, I'm confused about something in the first post. You state that you think the wall should be 12 bricks high, but below, it says that it should be 6 bricks high. Typo?

I knew you were keen, two builds coming up

I may not have it built for a little while as I am still working hard on my PtV entry and I might need to order some more bley bricks, but I'll make it in the end! :classic:

Thieves Guild, if within the city walls, would best be an equivalent of a modern day CIA or MI:6 (did I spell that right?).

From some past experience with a specific "computer game", the main city has a thieves guild inside at one end. This is where a lot of the secretive missions are carried out, espionage, assassinations, all that kind of hush-hush stuff. I think it is a great idea. Nice job to whomever added that to the list!

Will like to take a moment to congrats to all of you whom have particpated in the Community Castle Build.

Looking at the ongoing discussions from selecting of castle layout to the team divison, it certainly make me feel that the entire EB Castle Community is working together to make this dream a reality. This is an impressive community project which our own EB members should be proud of. ISC, this is a great idea and I will defintely follow your updates even though I could not particpate directly. If a day ever come, hope I will help out by contributing.

Everyone, keep up the good work and let's show everyone that we are able to finish this wonderful creation. Perhaps, one day, all of us with individual sections will come together in an EB Event and combine them together, to show the rest what one true community built castle really be look like?

Either that or perhaps someone with a zillion grey bricks could copy every section build and post pics of the final product.

I hope it's still possible to join? This just looks too good not to be a part of. :classic:

I'd love to make a mad scientist's lab, but not sure if Pickerel is doing that already?

There are a lot of good ideas spread around in this thread.

When the standard has been completed, can we please have them posted in the first post for clarity?

That is:

- How should the wall be made (how high, wide, height of pins and an example)

- What kind of building should we make: tents, houses, open markets or castles?

- What color should the ground be in: Green, DkBley or scattered colors in a stone-decorated style. (just show and example for inspiration)

- How cool is ISC for starting this up on a scale from 1 to 5 in rational numbers?

- etc.

I know it has been said that we can just modify our contributions as the standards change, but I would like to avoid this kind of issues as I'm a sloooow builder.

Does it have to be a rational number? Though I'll admit, the first irrational number that comes to mind is a bit too low.

Now KimT, we have already discussed this. When somebody gets around to building the dungeon, we're going to lock Hinckley in it and get him to build copies of all our models! It's genius!

To try to keep everyone on the same page, I've read over both the forums and tried to come up with a modified layout to accomodate what everyone wants to do.

Also, I've added a few new structures that I thought some people might be interested in. Here's the updated structure list:

1. Main Gatehouse - Dragonator

2. Oil Smelter

3. Bakery - Erdbeereis1

4. Jester’s Joke Shop – Erdbeereis1

5. Wizard Tower - Adam

6. Thieves Guild - Thrash

7. Tavern – Captain Green Hair

8. Apothecary

9. Adventurers Guild

10. Brothel

11. Dungeon

12. Torture Chamber - Pickerel

13. Alchemist/Mad Scientist Lab - Pickerel, Quarryman

14. Library

15. Tax Collector

16. Back Gatehouse - Adam

17. Falconer

18. Fighting Arena - I Scream Clone

19. Fletcher - randomparrot

20. Poleturner

21. Barracks

22. Armory

23. Blacksmith - Thrash

24. Tanner

25. Stables - Stash2sixx

26. Carpenter - Lasse D

27. Mason’s Guild - Stol

28. Monastery - Stol

29. Chapel - Stol

30. Mystery Play

31. Secondary Gatehouse - Pickerel

32. Servants Quarters

33. Kitchen – Wouwie13, Erdbeereis1

34. Treasure Room

35. Grand Hall

36. King/Queens Room

37. Princess Chambers - Sandy

38. Guest Room - randomparrot

39. Courtyard

40. Dock – Wouwie13, Captain Green Hair

On another note, I want to point out that the plan allows anyone to build a few extra studs in towards the center if you need extra room.

Also, since we've moved the wall in and made it thicker, I was thinking that maybe we should just build the walls on 6x16 baseplates that attach to back of each structure. What do you guys think?

Something mentioned in the beta thread gave me an idea: anyone want to add a brothel in place of one of the more boring structures?

I think that I am doing that, but the more the merrier! (you can have multiple people, right? )

31. Secondary Gatehouse - Pickerel
P.P.P.P.P.S. I'm also interested in the secondary gate house- NOT confirmed. Portcullises rock! Sorry about the P.S.'s, it's the strange way I am.

Pickerel :alien:

I'm planning on doing that, but am currently not sure!

Unsure Pickerel :yoda:

I don't see why we couldn't! I'm assuming that anyone can work on as many or as few structures as they want. Then, if two people have made the same thing, it'll be made into a poll so the community can decide which one they want to see in the final Community Build.

Do you mind if I add the bakery to my list?

If not, that's fine.

I've got no problem with it. I Scream Clone has the final say, though. I'm just trying to help out by making modified layouts and lists with everyone's names to keep things organized, but I Scream Clone is really in charge here...

One question, do we have to keep our modules together once we have posted them?

Because I don't have a gigantic amount of light grey bricks and I may need to recycle them between MOCs.

It's my understanding that once you have made a compenent, you are supposed to make instructions for how to build it and then you can take it apart. That way someone can rebuild it when we decide to put them all together.

I sense the need for answers and clarification. Im at work at the moment so I will be brief. More than one person may build any choice. We can decide later on the one prefered by majority rule.

Quarryman you are in, so get building buddy  And yes i am an irrational number so give up trying to classify me by a score of 1-5 :wacko:

Thanks for updating the list with names Thrash, could you change me from Wizards tower to fighting arena. Got some great gladiator weapons for use there.

Once you have built your masterpiece try dismantling it whilst photographing at various stages to make up some instructions. That way we might be able to share builds later on.

I will answer more questions later

Cheers

Also im copying you banner Thrash. Its beautiful, and encourage all others.

No problem ISC, I updated the list.

I would like to do this as well, but could you tell me how?

Thanks Thrash! :classic:

I'll enter it in right away!

I'm a bit worried that our medieval city is quickly losing it's focus. I mean, some of the buildings on that list don't really belong to that era... They're more "Wild West"-stuff, such as the undertaker, the mad scientist's laboratory and the bank. Maybe these could be replaced with a graveyard, an alchemist's house and a tax collector's house?

I still think there should be more floors and rooms in the keep itself, but I understand that Trash's map is just a guideline that we shouldn't follow blindly. Thanks heaps to Trash for modifying it according to my whims, though!

Oh, and in case someone hasn't seen it yet, go check my princess' chamber posted on the Team Beta thread! I'd still like to get more feedback for it!

I totally agree with that, a bank have nothing to do there ^^ the mad scientist can be a mad alchemist! ^^

Agreed, a mad alchemist was what I envisioned when I read about the mad scientist anyway. I actually have a half-built "goblin alchemist", based on the computer game Warcraft II, that I intend to modify to fit this project instead.
