Norrington Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I have to say these look great ... from astern. The bows are too low and frankly, kind of ugly. The smaller ships suffer from Square Stern Syndrome. Also, the smaller sterns are a little high, for my taste. I suppose that's the trouble with prefab hulls. However, there are many redeeming features. The sterns on the larger ships are great. I even see the Neptune IV's side castles angling back to meet the stern gallery. Lovely! The amount of cannons you must posses is very impressive, along with the amount of mast and hull pieces. The sails are just perfect, and I can give them no higher praise. Keep on building. Quote
StoneW4 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Dear zorro3999, I’ve changed the size of the pictures and put them into subfolders on Brickshelf Is this all right so this way? Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I think Zorro meant you need to resize the images in your first post. Have you seen our Batch Image Resize Tutorial? Quote
StoneW4 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Okay, I've resized the pictures in my post. Now better? Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Yeah. You fixed it. Although if I were you, I would resize the image in the first post too. Did you see your ships on Classic-Pirates.com frontpage? Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Excellent ships Stone4W, i'm jealous at your gun collection! As others have said the sterns and bows could use some improvement, but they're good as it is! Keep it up! Yeah. You fixed it. Although if I were you, I would resize the image in the first post too. Did you see your ships on Classic-Pirates.com frontpage? Err what is wrong with the pictures in the first post? They are all within the allowed size. Quote

Nothing is wrong, just I wasn't home on my broadband whenI looked at it, and it took so long on dial-up that I didn't even bother to check the actual size! Quote

StoneW4 Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 Okay, perhaps here are some more pictures of the ship. I hope they are able to help you and you see few details you couldn’t see before. But I must admit that I didn’t plan to put this photos into this forum as I made them and so they aren’t in a good quality mostly. Especially the background isn’t well. I’ll try to make further photos if I return to my “old” home next time and if I don’t forget it. Quote

Wow, I couldn’t believe it as I spotted them there! I didn't noticed the four canons at the back !! ^^ did you built an interior ? No, sorry, there aren’t any things inside worth seeing. Only bricks to make the ship as robust as possible. Quote
Guss Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 No, sorry, there aren’t any things inside worth seeing. Only bricks to make the ship as robust as possible. oh ok, that's right that the robust factor is important, but if It had an interior, It'll be the perfect lego ship ! but anyway... that must be something really hard, and maybe quite impossible to do ^^ Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 2, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 2, 2009 Sometimes I just love to bump an old thread, especially when it contains the most formidable ships. There don't exist many 3 deckers on standard hull, so this might be the only one. A possible improvement could be to bring some 'curve' in the side of the ship. But even as it is, this broadside look amazing. Run and hide pirates :pir-skull: Quote
