Fantastic work guys!

It all looks so good together, and the round wall is beautiful. I love all of the little details you included like the cross and the seal on the floor.

Great job!

Great church, Thrash and Stol! I really like the curved tower and the wooden Jesus.

I (finally) made one of my additions, the Wine Cellar of the first floor of the keep. Here it is:

3126251337_e61a967285_o.jpg

The door is part of the 4 stud wide hallway. Don't worry- those holes in the wall actually do something.

3127082062_f38f6888d3_o.jpg

The inside contains rows and rows of red wine, which is what the holes on the outside were for. Note the spider web- looks like this place isn't on the janitor's hit-list.

3127082364_5fefeff7d9_o.jpg

Here we have a crate full of various wines and rums, complete with fancy corks.

And a back shot, showing the wooden wall.

I didn't have enough pieces to make a wall or a hallway, since I'm only about a fourth of the way done sorting, and don't have many blet/ dark bley bricks to begin with, or at least not the ones I need. I also considered putting in a ladder, but there just wasn't enough room.

As always, feedback is welcome. :sweet:

Thanks everyone! We had a lot of fun building that church, so I'm glad you guys like it!

JimButcher, your wine cellar looks great. I love all of the wine bottles everywhere, and the way you did that wall with all the holes was really clever. However, I don't think it's the correct size. Do you think that, excluding the front hallway, you could expand the cellar to be 16x16? That would give you even MORE room for cool details! :classic:

Thanks everyone. :sweet: Thrash, I'm afraid I can't expand on it, since 8x8 is the correct size for the wine cellar on the map. I will check again, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Here's the layout for the keep:

When I designed it I made sure that the smallest module in the keep was 16x16, and then each module also has a hallway out front. Now that I look at it, the legend should say "6 wide hallway" instead of "8 wide hallway," but that doesnt' matter much for the size of the module. :classic:

I haven't updated the layout in a while, so next time I do that I'll be sure to fix the hallway size!

Thanks everyone for the comments.

i must say i love that wine cellar jimButcher it really is a cool compact moc. I cant wait to see what you can do with it if it can be expanded!

Ah, my mistake, I thought the white square in the key was referring to the large ones, like 71 and 50. I'll see if I can find enough bricks to expand it. Thanks Stol and Thrash. :classic:

No problem. :classic:

I'm excited to see what you'll come up with now that you have more room to work with!

sorry it's taking so long, but in the coming weeks I'll have to study quite a lot, so I don't have much time to build new mocs.. I hope the community build won't stop within the next few days?

Go alpha! :thumbup::tongue:

No rush...even though everyone took a brief holiday break from the EBCCB, everyone is back now! Also, with 20 or 30 modules to go, I don't foresee this project being finished any time soon. :classic:

Thats true, we can always build a second floor or basement!

Or we could start a Skellie or Orc comm castle with Embassy's in them LOL

Hello, I have done a revised wine cellar. I decided to redo it because it was not only too small (my mistake on reading the map), but also lacked a hallway and walls. Without further ado, here it is:

3169146020_cfdf9c05a1_o.jpg

Here is the overview. Not much to the outside, but it's nice, smooth, and simple. I tried to stay consistent with the hallway design, by using only minor adjustments (sorry, I know the hallway design isn't fully decided yet, and I can always make adjustments if need be).

3168313855_85eaa48fb7_o.jpg

Here's a better look at the hallway. It is mostly the same as the original example, but I used a large arch in the middle instead of two little ones, like on the sides, because of piece limitation. I also used the tan Harry Potter door instead of just a bley arch, mainly because I think it looks better, and adds color. Also note the torches on the doorway.

3168314249_1f7fa84349_o.jpg

On the left side of the interior, we have a wine rack, holding red wine bottles. There is also a servant fetching a few bottles via ladder for the King's grand banquet.

3168314609_dbb1e163ae_o.jpg

And on the right side of the cellar, we have two crates with various bottles of rum, champagne, and other drinks. A spider builds her home in the corner, blocking off the box with a bottle of rum in it.

3169145740_12feffa638_o.jpg

Finally, a last picture of the back of the room. I didn't add a guard balcony, since this is the first floor... I'll add one if there is supposed to be balcony there.

Comments are always welcome. :classic:

Great job on that updated Wine Cellar JimButcher!

No need for guard balconies or anything; those only go on the modules that aren't in the keep.

What do you think you'll be doing next?

Phew, that's good to know (I was running out of pieces), then I'm done with this. :classic:

Next up is the Servant's Quarters, which I signed up for. I'll work on that when I think of some good ideas and get some time to sit down and build. This is fun, so I'll have to sign up for more (small ) rooms.

I'm going to try to post my pix of my new Glazier. :sceptic:

Here is my Glazier. As you can see the glazier's daughter is selling some painted glassware and hoping to get some new commissions for windows. Too bad in medieval times the streets were so full of pigs and drunks!

front2.jpg

Here the master glazier is at work with his apprentice and several journeymen. The master glazier is the only one who can be trusted to draw the original cartoons. His newest apprentice is watching closely. Meanwhile, the journeymen carry on their duties. One has a red hot rod which will be used to cut the larger pieces of glass, another has the cartoon under the glass where he is cutting out the correct shapes with a grozing iron. There is a table of painted pieces. Finally, a journeyman is firing one of the painted pieces in the kiln. You can see some finished products in the corner. The master keeps a close eye on his daughter with all these journeymen around...

downstairs2.jpg

Upstairs the master glazier's wife, is equally industrious and spends all of her spare time with a distaff and drop spindle making thread. Let's hope she's not allergic to flaxseed and that she doesn't pierce her finger, otherwise she could end up paralyzed in a coma for...oh...a hundred years...

Note that the second floor front and front of the roof are attached to the downstairs and that the upstairs is easily lifted off.

upstairs2.jpg

A view with just the back wall off...note the shelf design over the bed with the pieces of colored glass for decoration. The glazier's daughter is closing up for the night.

back.jpg

Closed up for the night. The lower shelf is a shutter that folds up, and the awning is a top shutter that folds down, as was typical in medieval times. There is a curfew on the street, but the pig doesn't seem to know.

frontclosed.jpg

Here are the people with their tools.

Hope you like it!

Great Job Lalande! I saw this on BrickShelf a few days ago, and all I can say is great job! I really love how in-depth you went.

Thank you! I read about glaziers before I made it, and found it really interesting to learn how they made those beautiful stained glass windows.

Lalande, I actually looked through the Brickshelf gallery yesterday and wondered when you were going to share it with us. Great job on the Glazer, lots of kooky characters and nice furnishings too.

Thanks, Thrash put my pix up on brickshelf for me, but then he went back to school, so that is why it took me longer to get around to posting the pix here myself. Thrash just does everything a lot faster than me...for instance it takes me forever to build my MOCs but he just keeps churning his out at the speed of lightning

Hello folks, this is my first post in the Team Alpha Thread, and I say go Team Alpha!!! (Now, that I've got that out of my system) I'm just waiting on some mini figs. for my dwarven embassy, and then I'm planning on moving onto the prince's room and maybe the dungeon. Classes have been canceled at the college so I've got a 5-day weekend for building! Cool glazer Lalande, I really enjoy the amount of detail and historical research you put into your buildings, keep it up. Good update on the Wine Cellar too, JimButcher.
