KimT Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 As some might know I've been on a short trip to Berlin last week. I've had some good advice on shops here(link will follow) And I must admit that I was more than once seriously close to spending waaaay too much money on LEGO. Luckily I didn't because you're only allowed a certain amount of luggage when travelling cheap. Here's a small photo session on my trip: The trip started of very well, I got the chance to buy these: And before getting down to some shopping we (the fig, me and my to-be-wife) went sightseeing: Charlottenburg: Checkpoint Charlie: Denkmal (2700+ big cold rocks) Unter Den Linden: (with polizei and Brandenburger Tor in the back) We did go to other places as well, but I forgot to take pics with some LEGO reference (read sigfig). KaDeWe: And this is some of my loot: Oh and this is not a pic of a very small minifig, no this is a pic of what you get when ordering a "grande latte" I had half a day on my own and spend it in the LegoLand Discovery Centre Berlin. A great place, if you're between 7 and 11 years old. As an AFOL it's a dissapointment, but then again it's not made for us, but for the children. They had a pretty cool modelbuilder thing, where you can build a model whilst a young smiling employee instructs you. Sadly we had to leave the bricks and this created some sniffing and wet eyes from the children in the crowd. Cheap TLG - very cheap The pics of the LLDC can be seen here (when public). All in all a great trip with a neat amount of loot. Quote
Guss Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 hehe , only your minifig travelled ? what about you ? :P seems that you had a good time^^ Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Looks like you guys had a great time! You're becoming quite the spongebob fan aren't ya? Those big cups must be the American influence still hanging around there.. Quote
Zorro Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Looks good...in Belgium there is a gnome people can take on their holiday trips, the only thing we have to do is take a pic of the gnome with something local. How much did your minifig had to pay for its trip? Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Nice little trip to Berlin. That is one massive latte! Quote

Nothing. He sneaked onboard the airplane. He didn't even bring his passport eventhough I told him to. He can be such a pain sometimes. You're becoming quite the spongebob fan aren't ya? Erhm not really. They were just so damn cheap, and I've been meaning to do a medieval house in dark grey and orange for a while. Perhaps I'll even do one of those modules (yellow castle) in orange and have Patrick stand guard. Quote
Tim Bit Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 MMHH Latte...big... Sorry I like coffee. what a naughty little fig. Your lucky you didn't go to the states he would have done some hard time Quote
Lego12 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wow, great trip! Your SigFig, sure is sneaky. Those Latte's are HUGE! Well, I hope you enjoyed your trip! Quote
Holodoc Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Thanks for sharing your pics, Kim! This is a great idea, now my Sigfig is nagging all the time to do something similar... Quote
KimT Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Thanks for sharing your pics, Kim!This is a great idea, now my Sigfig is nagging all the time to do something similar... Couldn't he just beam himself somewhere? Or is it because you're a little too big for his beaming device, since you're some 45 times bigger than him. Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 YOU'RE STILL WEARING THAT SANTA COSTUME?? At least give it a wash before christmas... More on-topic: Beautiful pictures. I always like seeing minifigs in such unusual environments! Quote
JimBee Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Oh, I'm sorry I missed this before, it was pretty interesting! You sure got a lot, I didn't know you were into those themes (Spongebob, Exo-Force). Poor kids, Lego had to go all cheap on them. Anyway, looks like you had quite a lot of fun! That is one badass latte! Quote
Wout Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Those big cups must be the American influence still hanging around there.. Many germans also don't give you a "Haags Bakkie" Last year I visited some far away german family of me and I got the idea they thought I was starving. By the fourth dish My face was: Nice review of Berlin. Quote
VBBN Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Latte's in Michigan look like that. But with whipped cream topping. Looks like you had a good time! My sigfig will be traveling to Chocage and the Lego store in December !! Quote
KimT Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Latte's in Michigan look like that. But with whipped cream topping. Of course they do. That's why you've got the fattest country in the world, isn't it? Yeah I've seen that "Supersize Me!" movie and a documentary on the obesity situation in Texas Good luck.... BTW I'm pretty sure some Italian guy would get a little if he found out that you put whipped cream on a Latte Quote
