I am going to see if I can put one of the SD on layaway at target. Then on black friday if that is the sale item I can get it and not worry about the crowds in the morning so much.

I went to Target on sunday and they must have had 20-30 ISDs stacked up on the top of the shelves. So it's safe to say there will be plenty come black friday...can't wait :pir-cry_happy:

Sorry edited my comment. I did not mean the UCS I meant just the mini fig Star Destroyer.

I would love to get one of those for 50 bucks. By the way, anybody know if other sets will be on sale, like tiny turbos, or City?

Can you layaway stuff and still get the sale prices?

One of my local Targets was overstocked on the King's Castle Siege, and they were selling it for 50% off about two weeks ago. They did this until they were back down to a reasonable stock. Something tells me that's a good indicator that it won't be for sale on Black Friday. But, I could be wrong. I'm just thinking that here in the San Diego area, they'd want as many in stock as possible with only a few weeks to spare.

What's up with King's Castle Siege? As late as October I've seen it on store shelves everywhere, but in the past two weeks it has vanished. My son informed me that he would like the castle for Christmas, but 1 TRU, 3 Walmarts and 5 Targets later and I'm still empty-handed. Even Shop@Home has it backordered until Jan. 11. It appears that the castle is on lots of Christmas lists this year. Oh well, my son is into Star Wars LEGO too, so maybe he'll get an ISD instead.

I counted 48 of the Star Destroyer sets at one of my Targets.

Years ago I tried waking up early to get the Millenium Falcon for $50 on Black Friday, but I didn't wake up early enough and they were all gone. I'm just not hardcore enough for the 5 a.m. crowd. :pir-sceptic:

No problem, looks like it's going to be a nationwide thing. It says the sale is part of the 2-day sale going on Friday and Saturday with doors opening 6am, but I wouldn't count on getting any product on Saturday (unless they intentionally hold some).

Yeah, you know, before this, I'd noticed they had been routinely absent from the shelves for months. I thought maybe they'd been discontinued and considered buying a couple whenever I could my hands on them in lieu of this. But, as it was, it has reappeared at my local Target stores. Haven't checked the TRU lately, though.

Target (at least in the US) no longer has layaway. I've heard they might still have layaway in some other countries, but I can't help you with that.

Don't count on it...even though Target is getting smarter and knows that the sets will sell out either way (50% or 40% off) and upped the price, it will still most likely sellout within 1-2 hours. I highly doubt they will save any for the following day...however, they might have rainchecks. I ended up getting a Falcon 2 years ago but I also saw rainchecks for it later the same day when it was gone.

By the way, hey all, I just registered.

I think the TRU Big Toy Book sale ends Nov 26th (Wednesday)...

My "Local" Targets (At least 7) all had a plethora but clearanced them @ 49.98 and then later @ $24.98 [YIKES!] a month ago. I missed out but there are posts here and @ FBTB about it.....

I'll be @ Target bright and early for the ISD.......

Man, and I couldn't pass it up at $50. For $25 I would've bought SEVERAL, if only for the figures! Man, shame I missed that.

There were 3 left at the store I finally found them @ and I came back the next morning only to find them sold out. Later I saw the post that said they were $25. They didn't last that long around here.
