Sandy Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I've had this idea for a long time to make the cast of my favorite fighting game series (in fact, the only fighting game I like), Soulcalibur, into LEGO minifigs. Last week, I finally got busy since I felt I had enough options to create all the characters of the game. I decided against using customization, and instead went only with what I had in my LEGO boxes. So, I've created 26 minifigs that represent the fighters of Soulcalibur IV, and I'm going to present them to you in batches. Here come the first three: These are the only three fighters who are equipped with a shield in the game - and they all happen to be Greek. Sophitia is Cassandra's older sister, and Lizardman is an unfortunate soul who got transformed into this hideous form by an occultistic sect. There's many more to come, but please tell me what you like of these ones? Are there even other lovers of the Soulcalibur series here? Quote
Zorro Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 they look very good Sandy, especcialy the first two, building that third one seems to be very hard with lego parts...maybe that crocman from batman could be used for his scin... Quote
Guss Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 ahah ! it's the only fighting video game that I like too ! and I love your lizardman minifig! Quote
Tim Bit Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Those...are...AWESOME! my olny sugegtion is to switch the lizards skin for the crocodile mans skin from batman. Quote
THE-FORCE Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I love'em, I can't say anything else. I don't even now Soulcalibur. Make more! Greets, The-Force! Quote
Sandy Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks for the comments, guys! I have to emphasize, though, that I made these minifigs out of pieces that I already have, I didn't buy anything specifically for these. I don't know about the Killer Croc -torso, though, since sand green fits Lizardman's color scheme much better than the regular green. Anyway, here's three more characters of Soulcalibur, this time it's the Menage-A-Trois - Xianghua lusts for Kilik, Maxi wants Xianghua, and we all know it's Maxi who Kilik is after. Go figure! More on the way! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Nice work, they look pretty accurate! i do think Cassandra's panties should be black though. Quote
WhiteFang Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Sandy, I am impressed even though I don't play Soulcalibur. Looking at these images make me want to find out more about this game. I think you have done in the minifig customisation and photo editing by placing the orignal characters by its side which make the entire flow looks outstanding! I think you have done well, so far I really love Xianghua. She is awesome cool, and certainly resemble the orignal creation the most. Keep it up! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 20, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 20, 2008 I had never heard about Soulcalibur, but like Whitefang you're getting me interested. The minifigs and the graphics are awesome. You've also added shadows for some parts of the minifigs which makes the result fantastic. You can bet on me coming back to this thread to see how the rest of these turn out. Quote

You guys should definately give the game series a try! And with a friend, it's double the fun! As for the shadows, they are real shadows made by the minifigs due to the use of flash, so I didn't add them digitally or anything. But I'm glad you like the effect! But I wouldn't want to leave you hanging without new pictures all night, so here are three more characters! These three are the eponymous knights of the game series. Siegfried is the wielder of Soul Calibur, while Nightmare is the manifestation of the evil Soul Edge. Hilde is a newcomer to the series, and hangs in between these two "soul swords". Quote
Guss Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I really like how you did these minifigs sandy ! do you plan to makes a pics with 2 minifigs and the display of the game ? ( life bar etc ^^) Quote
Sandy Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 I really like how you did these minifigs sandy ! do you plan to makes a pics with 2 minifigs and the display of the game ? ( life bar etc ^^) I haven't thought of that before, but now that you mentioned it, I might give it a shot... Anyhow, here are three more characters! That adds up to 12, so I still have 14 to go! Phew! These are the Koreans Seong Mi-Na and her apprentice Yun-Seong, and the young Philippine shamaness Talim, who travels with them. Next up, we take a look to the dark side... Quote
Guss Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 the dark side ? you already did nightmare ^^ I wonder how you'll make Berserker and people like him^^ I can't wait to see Voldo too ! ^^ Quote
Pencoin Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Wow great figs, I really like Soul and I think these figs are great, I love kilik and I can't wait to see how you do Yoshimitsu and Voldo, I take it Darth Vader is next? Edited October 21, 2008 by Pencoin Quote
Sandy Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 I wonder how you'll make Berserker and people like him^^ I take it Darth Vader is next? I'm sorry, but I've limited these characters only to the 26 playable main characters featured in Soulcalibur IV, so there will be no Berserker included. Also, Darth Vader and Yoda and the Secret Apprentice are already made in LEGO (and I don't own parts for any of them), so you will not see them in this thread either. But as promised, here follows four more characters, all considered to be on the "dark side". And the characters will only get weirded from here on! The buxom Ivy is a soulless alchemist, and the undead pirate captain Cervantes is her father. Meanwhile, Raphael is a vampiric frenchman, and the gothic lolita Amy is his adopted daughter. So here's a pair of fathers and daughters! Next, we will see what kind of fighters the Land of the Rising Sun has to offer us! Quote
Guss Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Cervantes and Raphael, my two favourites  I love how you did Cervantes (EDITED) Edited October 21, 2008 by Guss Quote
WhiteFang Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Thanks for uploading these wonderful pictures at a regular basis. I am impressed with these pictures. Raphael does resembles Dillion. I enjoyed viewing these pictures. I am supposed there is more to come? Perhaps, at the finale you could actually take a group photo of all featured characters. I am sure it will look real nice in it. Quote
Pencoin Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I thought by 'dark side' thats who you meant. Quote

I am sure it will look real nice in it. Thanks for the suggestion, but a group shot is a bit iffy... Firstly, I've already disassembled the minifigs in these photos, and secondly, there are some pieces that I had to switch around from minifig to minifig, since I only had one of them. But I'll see what I can do. Meanwhile, here are the fighters from Japan, like I promised! Mitsurugi and Taki are one of few mainstay characters that have been around since the original game (others are Siegfried, Sophitia, Seong Mi-Na, Voldo, Rock and Cervantes). Setsuka came later with a vengeance to Mitsurugi in her mind, and Yoshimitsu is the ancestor of his namesake from the Tekken series of fighting games. Only six characters to go! Quote
Sandy Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 Okay, it's time to wrap this up with six more zany Soulcalibur combatants! There's the gigantic rhino-masked Rock and the golem that was made to his image, Astaroth. There is also the bipolar cricus freak Tira and the mute psychopath Voldo. To top this off, we have the boss characters from both Soulcalibur III and Soulcalibur IV, Zasalamel and Algol, respectively. That's all 26 main characters from the Soulcalibur IV fighting game turned into LEGO minifigs! Hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making my ideas come to life! Quote
Nightmare Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Nice Algol. Also I thought Nighty had Soul Edge, not Darth vader's Laser Sword Quote
JimBee Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Very nice, Sandy! My favorite characters (in III) are Talim, Misturugi, and Raphael, and all of your figs are great! Now do a Link fig. Quote
Guss Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I like how you made the rock's head ! that's very great, too bad you don't have a black minifig to make zasalamel :/ Quote
