Dennimator Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 (edited) EDIT: Whoops, wrong forum, can a MOD/Admin please move this to the News and General Discussion? Thanks. When I bought the 7993 Gas station, the door that I got was this: ...instead of this: As you can see in the following picture, tis door doesn´t fit in too well with the red colour... So, what is this piece? I have never seen it before, I didn´t even knew that mold does exist! Best regards Dennimator Edited October 25, 2008 by Dennimator Quote
Badsneaker Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 That is a strange door. I have some similiar but with the square molded handle like on the red one in your pic. They came with black frames. I do see it in the link to Peeron though, red door, red frame. Weird. Maybe they ran out or made a mistake, or just don't make it red anymore. I can't imagine that though with a set so current. I would call them and see whats up. Has anyone else noticed this? Quote
Dennimator Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 (edited) That is a strange door. Yeah I know, this door looks like a mix up of the red door and this one. Edited October 26, 2008 by Dennimator Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Moved from Trains and Town Forum. Strangely, I have the same grey insert as you. Quote

I bought two 7993´s at the same time, but the other was OK... Guess I´ll phone/mail TLG on Monday. Edited October 26, 2008 by Dennimator Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I also got the grey door insert . . . very strange, indeed. Quote
KimT Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I've heard of this before. When TLG's production line is out of stock of a particular brick they replace it with a similar brick - knowing that we'll call them later and ask for the intended brick. It's cheaper to add a wrong (useable) brick than stop the packing of a certain set. So I normally (the few times this has happened to me) call LEGO Direct and tell them that I've gotten a wrong piece. This they're usually aware of (perhaps they've been warned) and I get the new intended brick within long. So just call them to get the red door. Quote
Mirandir Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 they can be found on Bricklink. Not inventoried in any sets but there are 4 of them up for sale by two UK sellers. Quote

Yeah, I´ll do that, thanks! they can be found on Bricklink. Not inventoried in any sets but there are 4 of them up for sale by two UK sellers. It doesn´t exist in any sets? Then it must be a special-produced piece! I´ll keep this, I like special pieces that "doesn´t exist". Quote
Freddie Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 It's one of the new doors, that are included in this year's "doors and windows" parts-package. You can find it there. Quote
mania3 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I just went and checked my set. I also got the gray door/red frame. Quote
Justin Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I saw that piece on Lego's Digital Designer program. Quote
