EDIT: Whoops, wrong forum, can a MOD/Admin please move this to the News and General Discussion? Thanks.

When I bought the 7993 Gas station, the door that I got was this:

...instead of this:

As you can see in the following picture, tis door doesn´t fit in too well with the red colour... :sceptic::hmpf_bad:

So, what is this piece?

I have never seen it before, I didn´t even knew that mold does exist!

Best regards

That is a strange door. I have some similiar but with the square molded handle like on the red one in your pic. They came with black frames.

I do see it in the link to Peeron though, red door, red frame. Weird. Maybe they ran out or made a mistake, or just don't make it red anymore. I can't imagine that though with a set so current. I would call them and see whats up.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Moved from Trains and Town Forum.

Thanks! :sweet:

Strangely, I have the same grey insert as you.

Huh? *huh*

I bought two 7993´s at the same time, but the other was OK...

Guess I´ll phone/mail TLG on Monday.

I've heard of this before.

When TLG's production line is out of stock of a particular brick they replace it with a similar brick - knowing that we'll call them later and ask for the intended brick.

It's cheaper to add a wrong (useable) brick than stop the packing of a certain set.

So I normally (the few times this has happened to me) call LEGO Direct and tell them that I've gotten a wrong piece. This they're usually aware of (perhaps they've been warned) and I get the new intended brick within long.

So just call them to get the red door.

Yeah, I´ll do that, thanks! :sweet:

they can be found on Bricklink. Not inventoried in any sets but there are 4 of them up for sale by two UK sellers.

It doesn´t exist in any sets?

Then it must be a special-produced piece! :oh:

I´ll keep this, I like special pieces that "doesn´t exist".
