KimT Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 That is cool. What's cool? Please refrain from that kind of no-use posting. Smells like posting to increase post count. Quote
united brick Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 actualy I belive that the rocket droids are not similar to comandos (or as clones call them spec. ops. droids) Yeah when i saw that seen i thought: why the hell are they wearing ponchos? anyway back on topic we need droid commandos. Who's for a Rishi station set with Rex, Cody, Echo, Hevy, Fives and some droid commandos?! ?? ponchos? and by then that episode would be tooooo old Quote
Icesaber Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Remember, though: do we really expect TLC to dish out for new heads, torsos, and colors? You have a point about the jetpacks, though.Droids against the ARC trooper gunship? Scrap metal. I'd always assumed it's just as easy to make an old piece in a new color as an old piece in an old color as long as it was one solid color (no markings or anything). Don't they make the pieces with a mold being filled with melted plastic? If so, then they could simply put dark bley melted plastic instead of dark red melted plastic in the mold. I don't see why it would cost anything more if it was done like that. Quote
clonefactory Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I am currently working on some Driod Commando models and was wondering what color do you think the torso and head should be. I have already decided on a dark bluish gray for the limbs. I was going to go with the sand red for the torso and head. Now I am considering Dark red instead. Any thoughts. Here are some preliminary shots of the model. I know the head needs to taper more. Any other thoughts. Droid Commando Thanks. Quote
pr0visorak Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Wow! Good luck with that clonefactory Can you give us a sample of what the colors look like please? Quote

I'd considered building some commandos myself. I'd go with the same construction technique as used for EV-9D9: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/KimT/Sta...ifigs/ev9d9.jpg and create a decal for the face and head details. For colour scheme dark bley would be best as they are predominantly that colour. BTW nice pic KimT Quote
Light Light Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 This is very interesting. You might be on to something. A fantastic find. Quote
