And when the tree guys removed the branches they ripped the telephone wire. Well the verizon guy came today and now my internet is restored. Otherwise I would have replied sooner. castle bearded guy Sweet display! Now for my small Evil Dwarf Army. I hope to get plenty more later on. While my internet was down I did some calculations. If I wanted to get 100 of each castle faction and around 20 horse bardings for the factions that have them (and some dragons for dragon masters), it would take around 2 years at the current rate of purchase (taking into account of the more expensive minifigures of course). An extra year if I want to separate factions into subfactions like KKII Rainbow knights into Unicorn, Bear, Hawk, Wolf, etc knights. Vikings/Trolls/Dwarves by their shirt printing. Skeletons separated into classic(no eyeballs), fantasy era/ninjago and black skeletons. Quote

You are a very crazy man! Haha. 100 of each faction is quite a goal. I have my lion knights set up at around 20 strong... and I look at them and see a large army. I cannot imagine 100 for each faction! I think I will be more modest and shoot for 20-30 for each faction. Good luck with your purchases. Quote

I also have a goal of 20-30ish, but I don't just go for increasing army size, I like to have somewhere for each minifig to stand in their castle. To that end, I've pretty much stopped collecting for old factions as the castles are full. I have plenty of room for more orc/trolls, and a couple of KKI knights. (Maybe I should MOC some new castles to fit more men in, heh heh heh... :dcool: ) Maybe I'll put the evil dwarves (don't have any yet) in with the orcs? Not sure. Quote

I have every soldier outfitted with their appropriate gear also, not just the figures so that does add up also. As much as I like the older factions, like you said, you have no room for them in their respective places, so no need to get more of them. That does free up the ability to get other factions. Since all of my legos have been in storage since the mid 90s, I have no idea how many I have of most factions other than the most recent lions/dragons. But I definitely want to start getting orcs. I think the evil dwarves could work well with them, but since they have dragon wings on their torso, I kind of want to add them in alliance with the new dragon knights. I am currently working on a brick built centaur to add as another race/faction, especially since minotaurs are coming out soon (even though I was working on a brick built one of them also). Quote

He's my inspiration lol.But I hope to keep them on a shelf instead of containers. Also I had to switch my internet plans so I might not be able to post anymore (except occasional using cousin's internet) until the 5th. I already planned on getting 100 shadow knights, and some CMF vikings and maybe CMF Evil Dwarves/Elves too. Quote

Can't take cred for the scorpion...it's from one of the KKII sets...I just switched-out the trans orange 'eyes' for trans red, to keep it the same as the other trans red pieces I used. The rider is totally safe...the scorpion is under the sway of the Undead Witch Twins that the Scorpion King has recruited to help him in his attempt to conquer all the lands. (you can't make them out very clearly...one on either side of the standard-bearer in the 'command unit' pics) Still short a few shields and need to get some more black bows and quivers to 'beef up' my archers. I also need to get some more black swords for five of my swordsmen, because I HATE those scarlet swords...and they ruin the continuity of my unit. LOL And I still need to pick up some more black spears...I wanted two large units, one with halberds and one with spears but, alas, I didn't have anywhere NEAR as many black spears as I THOUGHT I had. Those are a lot of scorpions Never have seen so many together. Well, I got at least one of each of all the sets when they came out, plus two of the chess sets for the scorpion soldiers...then I snagged two Vladek polybags waaaaaaaaaay back when...then recently decided to snag 101 more! (though I kept one MIB, just for old times) I guess it all adds up, after a while. *g* *edit* And OF COURSE, my wife just walked in, looked at them and said "Nice! How many are there?" Hmm, which faction to choose? I have a few armies on the go right now. I THINK I've posted pics of most of them, if not all of them. Some are not so big (Crown knights), some were small but have been recently added to (Trolls) and some are still 'ongoing' (Scorpions, Lions, Dragons). I'd LIKE to add to some of my smaller armies (Crownies, Vikings, etc.) but, I don't know if that's going to happen. 'Costs' and all that. I like having 'multiple factions', instead of one giant army, because then you can get into 'alliances', 'betrayals', etc...not to mention, just having someone to square off against! I still need to get my 'classic castle' guys together, as well as my KKI factions, my 'jellybean knights', my 'ninja & samurai'...I don't have a lot of any of those though, so it shouldn't be as big an ordeal, or take up too much space. As far as the minifigs go...I only really have ONE piece of advice: whatever you do, buy them BEFORE the theme is discontinued, otherwise you'll get nailed on the price. Heck, prices sometimes jump due to a RUMOUR about a theme ending. Plus, I'd rather build up a different army, but I did want to get a small Viking ensemble as another group to look at. And I will agree on how great it is having a supportive wife! However, I have 700 of these guys: And 800 of these guys: So I broke them up into two separate factions. Quote
