BrickSev Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Agree don't look like dwarven army to much, more like teenager. I really like the pikes. From an "army builder" point of view I'm aware it may be not easy to acquire the beards for the whole army Quote
flailx Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Final Classic Castle army in formation...or the "I have a problem" army. All vintage figures, shields, old grey helmets, abs swords, old dark grey halberds, old brown bows and quivers. O_OWow! And I thought I had a huge Classic army. Very, very impressive! Quote
Balbo Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 From an "army builder" point of view I'm aware it may be not easy to acquire the beards for the whole army Yeah, you're right - those beard pieces aren't cheap, especially in such huge quantities. Many of those beard pieces don't match with the helmet, too. Quote
LegoFanfromPR Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Well, I guess I had to choose between beards and armor. Armor won. besides the helmets I had available wouldn't allow for beards. Guess that one was coming (rightfully). LegoFanfromPR Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Got two more armies built. LegoFanfromPR Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) Lobster armor from Brickwarriors. $1.00 each, so I stopped at 40 pieces of armor, their shields are from the same source, their javelins/spears are from Brickforge. The helmets are Lego Atlantis. The Elven Queen armor is from the Lego Series Conquistador.... Edited March 20, 2015 by LegoFanfromPR Quote

Many of those beard pieces don't match with the helmet, too. Good point about the helmet Personally I wouldn't spend a lot of money in beard pieces and I'd prefer the other accessories. It's just me of course but every time I notice with the final cost of a fully customized army I can buy a lot of sets, I always choose the sets. Mostly because I find more exciting to have different projects rather then assembling Minfigure after Minfigure. Like I said, it's just my person preference Quote

Like I said, it's just my person preference If you have a midget army without a single person with beard don't call it a dwarf army, it's simply just a hobbit army, teenager army. Why even bother with short legs that don't move? it's not like they are much cheaper then any other legs. Quote

Brickwarriors stuff is great isn't it? If you have a midget army without a single person with beard don't call it a dwarf army, it's simply just a hobbit army, teenager army. Mebbe they could be short beards? (Very VERY short beards!! Heh) OR maybe they shave their beards when they join the army (as rookies) and the older they get the longer the beards are... It's just a rookie army that's all! Edited March 20, 2015 by nine09nueve Quote
LegoFanfromPR Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Few of them do have printed beards. But oh well, a short people army Quote

Namely I'm not the best one to provide details on the army Mebbe they could be short beards? (Very VERY short beards!! Heh) OR maybe they shave their beards when they join the army (as rookies) and the older they get the longer the beards are... It's just a rookie army that's all! Or in his Fantasy Universe dwarves don't wear beard or not every dwarf wears them After all when we create our stories we don't have to be bound to what other did before us. Our universe, our rules Quote
LegoFanfromPR Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I would like to make/build original stories (Emperor vs Dragon King) and/or recreate events from the Silmarillion (the host of Numenor, fall of Gondolin, the war of the last alliance) Quote

Like I said don't worry too much about "conventions" (like the beards one ) It's your army, it's a little universe you build with your bricks and it does not have to be identical to other fantasy universes, not necessarily Quote
Venkefedo Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) Well, I guess I had to choose between beards and armor. Armor won. besides the helmets I had available wouldn't allow for beards. Guess that one was coming (rightfully). The front ranks would work with many beards; the Fantasy-era dwarf beards should work nicely with the BrickForge Dwarven helm, as will BF's own Sage & Dwarf beards. Standard Lego wizard-beards, Gandalf's beard, Sensei Wu's beard, Vitruvius' beard, Gimli's beard, Dwalin's beard, CMF Santa/Classic King's beards, and the newer chin-only beards of Wiley Fusebot, CMF Prospector, and some of the new Swamp Criminals in the Town theme will also work very well. About the only one that wouldn't work would be Balin's, Hagrid's, and CMF Caveman's, since they cover the head, too. For the bullet-heads, all you can do is get faces with beard prints or stubble, which will be tough for so many if you want a lot of variety. Or, switch to the nose-guard helms, since they'd work with the CMF beards, wizard/sensei beards, and even reasonably well with the wrap-around Fantasy/Gimli/Dwalin beards (not a completely secure fit on the head's stud, but good enough for display & light play!) Still, bearded or not, it's an impressive lineup of Dwarvish troops! Edited March 23, 2015 by Venkefedo Quote
amechanicalmind Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 O_O Wow! And I thought I had a huge Classic army. Very, very impressive! Sorry to be late in replying to this! I had seen your army when you had posted it and was very impressed in its size...I realize how hard it is to find all the parts for these guys, especially the older color swords and shields. Very nice, and thank you! Quote
Rob1321 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Newish to LEGO. Wanting to build an army. Are non lego accessories "allowed'? For instance weapons from brickwarriors? Quote
