Rogue Angel Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 It doesn't matter if it's modern or ancient. Some armies were very uniform, some armies were varied. If you like your armies to look varied, good for you. If you like your armies to look similar, that's fine too. You have to look at the composition and command of an army to determine what they will look like. It varies. If you think everyone's armies should look uniform, you are wrong. If you think everyone's armies should look varied, you are wrong. If it's your army, whatever you do is right. Quote
dzidek1983 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 If it's your army, whatever you do is right. Of course it is, at least in the eyes of the army owner. But isn't this the most important perspective? It is on your shelf isn't it? ;) Quote

Rogue Angel Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Noktu - excellent layout! I really like the bases for your divisions, and the buildings are a nice addition. Quote
Noktu Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) My phones camera sucks megablocks, need to figure out what's wrong with it. When the light level decreases even a little from full daylight, it starts to throw that stupid blurry glow everywhere. Just wanted to recap all the forces I've got for the Nokheim faction, I intend to do a battle whenever I get the time for it. Decided I'd make Nokheim infantry heavy, and Goldwerk will have all the cavalry. 60 minifigures is currently the total amount of figures included in this army (All figures have torsos from the Kingdoms theme, except one guy who has LOTR torso). 1x Lord (von Kraut) 1x Wizard Hero (Filten) 12x Handgunners (1 Officer) 24x Spearmen (1x Officer, 1x Hero - von Stiz) 8x Raiders 4x Rangers 4x Heavy Pikemen 1x Siege Catapult (3 Crew) 1x Dout (dog + scout) 1x Lost Knight (Runs around aimlessly) von Kraut Filten Spearmen x 12 - von Stiz Spearmen x 12 Handgunners x 12 Raiders x 8 Rangers x 4 Heavy Pikemen x 4 Siege Catapult + Dout Lost Knight and his anti-infantry catapult Edited January 30, 2016 by Noktu Quote

Alfadas Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Nice army, but why is that first Jester in handcuffs? Did he steal again? Quote
Rogue Angel Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Noktu, I really like the posing of your army figs! I have been looking at using bases with my armies for a while, and I like how you've done it here. Quote
Noktu Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Nice army, but why is that first Jester in handcuffs? Did he steal again? Tried to entertain the Dukes daughter, vanguard will fit him quite nicely therefore. Quote

I got really interested in the possibility to use lego in some sort of wargaming, so decided to do bases for them for easier movement. Most bases do lack detail tho. Here's a sneak peek for blue team. These guys employ fanatic peasant rabble aswell. County of Mådplatz Edited January 30, 2016 by Noktu Quote
Rogue Angel Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I had always done the standard baseplate until the CMF bases showed up, and those are my standards for photographing. My brother is big into Warhammer Fantasy, and has been trying to get me to build an army from Lego. It's on my to-do-list, but that list is very long . Quote
samiam391 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 If you plan to use all these minifigs that has to be a really big Helm's Deep. :) Wow. How many Uruks are there??? 400? Here's an update on said Helm's Deep! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=120699 Quote

Having regularly wondered on how to shift lego armies around a battlefield, may I offer a reminder to my possible solution to the LEGO tabletop battle playing community. I've posted this before a while back independently but actually this seems a good place to repost. If you follow the links in my sig you can see my OLD elf army with the battle trays in situ (must update soon!) Much Love D Quote
Noktu Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Your battle trays are effective for sure sir. Only thing that might hinder the use of these is uneven and non smooth / sturdy terrain. With minis on top of the tray instead of currently being situated inside would make the trays way more versatile. Even so great tinkering Dr. D. Quote

Yeah - sticking another layer underneath it all ups the price somewhat and lifts everything off the ground a little... but its quite quick to take the squad out of the tray in order to place them on a hill or castle battlements say. I'm always open for suggestions so will have a play later - thanks! D Quote

AmperZand Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) Not so much an army as a small band of Arabian knights... ...and villains: Edit: I also have the two CMF genies, male and female, but as the only way I modded them was to replace the male's golden hands with medium azure ones, I didn't bother to include them. Legojoey Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 My Castle army`s complete Album on flickr Sorry for the bad photo Quality - but the light was not the best today Where did you get the really shiny helmets for the crownies?? Quote
Alfadas Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Probably from Bricklink, a custom store sold them there. Not sure if they still do. Quote
Preuss Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I've finally managed to arrange and photograph my LOTR & Hobbit armies. Still missing the dwarves, army of the dead and custom haradrim, but I wasn't happy with those yet. The "good" guys: three factions of elves, men from Lake-Town, Gondor and Rohan elf-men-army The "bad" guys: spiders, trolls, goblins, nazgul and orcs from Isengard, Mordor and Gundabad sauron-army Quote
Alfadas Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Wow. Just wow. So many soldiers. Great armies! Quote
