General Magma Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Also, What does everyone think of the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer? New? My, you're late... almost got my hopes up for another trailer this soon already. But to answer your question, I thought it was a great trailer that seems to promise something new in a Star Wars film. Forresto Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 It's also great to know the change in tone rumors were false. I'm ready to see a time period where the Empire is wining and the rebellion is constantly on the ropes. Quote

Weren't the reshoots basically confirmed by the actors returning to sets, despite what Disney might claim? Quote
Forresto Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 They were? Weren't the reshoots basically confirmed by the actors returning to sets, despite what Disney might claim? From what ive come to understand they arent changing scenes or shortening battles or anything. They are filming additional scenes that are for character building within the scenes they have already. ChiefPie Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 I think all the actors George picked are good actors but were not necessarily directed to the extent they could have been. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 A new interview just went online: TFA creature performer Tom Wilton (B-U4D, the Luggabeast....and Sarco Plank in the Vanity Fair shoot!) https://www.starwarsawakens.nl/interviews/exclusief-interview-tom-wilton-creature-performer-b-u4d-luggabeast/ Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 This explains what the reshoots for Rogue One added: Quote
Clone OPatra Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 The suspense and buildup in that whole segment was soo good. My sides hurt!! Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I have just posted another interview online. Earlier this month I interviewed Phil Hodges, who played an X-Wing pilot in TFA! https://www.starwarsawakens.nl/interviews/exclusief-interview-phil-hodges-x-wing-piloot-the-force-awakens/ Quote

Leo604 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I hope Rogue One will still have the same gritty, Saving Private Ryan-esque feel they promised when it was first announced. I'm assuming it will since most people are overreacting about the reshoots, but you never know. Quote
Jbricks Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Will Rogue One have a chance to be the best prequel? (Best being by how good of a movie it is, since the prequels are objectively sub-par in quality) Or will it be seen as "less" by the fans due to not being a part of any trilogy? Quote
Leo604 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 James Earl Jones has been (officially) confirmed to be voicing Darth Vader in Rogue One: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/06/23/darth-vader-rogue-one-star-wars I mean, I think we all pretty much knew he wouldn't pass up the chance but it's great to know for sure. Will Rogue One have a chance to be the best prequel? (Best being by how good of a movie it is, since the prequels are objectively sub-par in quality) Or will it be seen as "less" by the fans due to not being a part of any trilogy? Rogue One being a standalone film won't have any effect on how fans see it; that will still depend on the same factors people judge any movie by. If anything, I don't think any Star Wars movie could be worse than TPM in terms of writing and certain characters. Quote
N-4K0 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Standalone or not, I already view it as equal to the saga movies since it's about the rebellion just prior to A New Hope. If it turns out to be really good, it's just even better. Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Samuel L. Jackson is saying Mace Windu isn't dead.. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I just posted this new and exclusive interview! Earlier this week I conducted an interview with Christian Alzmann (concept artist at ILM who designed BB-8 and a lot more) https://www.starwarsawakens.nl/interviews/exclusief-interview-christian-alzmann/ Quote
Leo604 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Samuel L. Jackson is saying Mace Windu isn't dead.. If Darth Maul can get chopped in half and also survive falling down to whatever that pit led to then come back as a semi-robot, then Mace Windu's odds shouldn't be that bad. Quote
brickmasterben11 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 It would be cool to see Windu come back as a badass with a robotic arm, to replace the one that Palpatine cut off. Quote
N-4K0 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 It would be cool to see Windu come back as a badass with a robotic arm, to replace the one that Palpatine cut off. Anakin cut it off, but yes, I agree. Although that would probably have to be pre-OT, or he'd probably be a bit old. Quote
Forresto Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Nope I love Mace Windu but he needs to stay dead. The power of Revenge of the Sith is that so many characters actually die and get killed. If Mace survives it diminishes Anakains betrayal and his transformation to Darth Vader by complicating it. Besides they already did the ressurection thing with Maul. Cool concept and it would be cool to see a non canon return of Mace in a comic but I dont know about a legit return Quote
YellowCorvette Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I also didn't understand the need to revive Mace Windu (Never like the character anyway) from death, because there's no reason that make sense from him to been still alive and it makes Anakin's betrayal less impactful. Quote
Leo604 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 There also shouldn't be any need to try to include characters from the Prequels. For one it's been 59+ years since the time of the Galactic Republic, but this is the story of Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren, etc. Just trying to dredge up the past would overshadow what Disney are trying to do with their iteration of Star Wars. That being said, pretty much everything Samuel L. Jackson said in that interview was in jest and I'm pretty sure no one took it seriously as a sign Mace would be included in some future work. Quote
Robert8 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Still no word about Jar Jar? C'mon Disney! We know you want to do it Quote
HawkLord Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Samuel L. Jackson is saying Mace Windu isn't dead.. I also read that and threw up alittle. Sam J wants some attention... And I love that he thinks because Lucas said "yea, whatever" probably in passing that it somehow means we should consider it canon. "Jedi fall from great heights"? Seriously, Palpatine's penthouse was a pretty great height. And Mace got shot to hell with lightning and his hand cut off. Then he staggered back to life and didn't think to go back to the Jedi temple or find Yoda and Obi-Wan? What was he doing during the fall of the Jedi? There would have been time for him to take some action. Quote
Jbricks Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) Haha, I jokingly made a minifigure once of a post-ROTS vengeful Windu, using Nick Fury's eyepatched face. I never actually took the idea seriously, nor should anyone unless it's a non-canon comic or such. Personally I'm not a prequel fan and don't want a 60-years-dead character to come back. The biggest prequel reference in TFA was Hux saying something about not wanting to use a clone army, and this seemed like it was just a throwaway line to explain to any out-of-the-loop prequel fan or non-fan that stormtroopers aren't clones.
