Here, here.

"Hear, hear" as in "listen to this man, he tells the truth"

I bought a BD drive for my computer and some nice monitors a year ago, but couldn't find any Blu-Rays that I'd truly appreciate to play on it until late last year. So far all I have is seasons 1&2 of The Clone Wars. Waiting (until seemingly 25th Century) for the extended LOTR & for Star Wars.

Okay, fine.

I always thought that was a rather fitting name. It'll look like the last star the victims will ever see, because it causes death. And before you say, 'The Super Tank looks like a tank that is super', super isn't as good of an adjective as 'death'. I mean, 'Death Tank' is still a pretty lame name, but is sound better than 'Super Tank'. And 'Death Star' sounds better than 'Super Star'.

I always thought 'star destroyer' wasn't all that creative. Some names of OT are awesome, like the MF, but OT had the advantage of naming half their ships by the shape of their wing, and/or using an acronym (TIE fighter) I like some of the additions they have added to the SW universe, but I dislike it when they change stuff up.

Can somebody clarify this disk set thing? What is it?

The saga is being released on BluRay with three disks of bonuses, for a 9-disk set. MSRP is $139.99, but Amazon is selling it for $89.99.

What's wrong with acronyms?

Besides, Lucas wasn't trying to be all that creative in the OT. At least, not with ship names and costumes. The way I see it, the Emperor like cliche names that can scare people by just thinking about it, and the Rebels liked simple names.

Found this article on StarWars.com, about how LEGO was used to design the ships of Knight Errant. I thought it was pretty cool.

Even if the models look like MOCpages clone kiddie's work and they used the improper plural form of 'LEGO' in the title.

As in "listen to Artanis, he's smarter than you, Mr. Legonater."

They're also selling each trilogy separately for $69.99 each ($44.99 on amazon).

*oh2* haha not anymore, now I've taught him all I know. Now HE is The Master.

I could probably look this up somewhere but I'm too lazy & I haven't read it in here so maybe someone else will be wondering (or maybe I have a short memory): anyone know when these discs will be released?

StarWars.com says September 2011.

Great! Maybe now he'll even be able to spell Terminator correctly.

(Sorry, Legonater, I just still can't believe you named yourself after a movie you haven't even seen and misspelled it. No offense.)

StarWars.com says September 2011.

September 27 to be exact. At least that's what Amazon says.

Who needs the Terminator? We have the Vader. In which case Legonater did spell his name correctly.

It should probably be Legonader in that case. Where the n came from I don't know however.

Ahem.

Back on topic: The Star Tours in Florida has been announced to re-open May 20th: LINK

Wiki- and Wookieepedia say that the one in California will relaunch on the same date, but I have yet to see official confirmation of that.

Wouldn't it have been more epic to relaunch it on May the fourth?

Oh well. Legonater is a Count though, so he could change his name.

It would be, but then all of us LEGO Star Wars fans would be online buying LEGO instead of going to Disneyland/world.

As a birthday present for me, yes.

The only problem would be that I don't even live close to California, so that visit isn't going to happen anytime soon for me.

Would you just see pictures, etc. or are you inside a real, moving vehicle during the tour? (If so, on wheels then I assume.)

I just found the same article, and it's just a shame that they had to encourage the improper plural form of 'LEGO'.

I also have to agree on that last point.

Ironic- I was just thinking about that post yesterday, and how 'nater' didn't have to referance that default_laugh_new.gif

Too bad I don't live anywhere near California. A lot of important LEGO things seem to be happening there lately.

Couple new things I noticed on StarWars.com today.

Firstly, there's a list of ILM and Skywalker Sound nominations for Academy Awards.

And the Star Wars: Frames bookis now available from the online shop. It's a beautiful set in a wooden case of a bunch of big printouts from the movies. Personally, I think it'd make a terrific set of source material, but given that it sells for $3,000, I'll stick with Wookieepedia.

Wow. The editing there is spectacular. I'm gonna have to find time to see it all.

It really is amazing, I'm only on part 4, which has an alternative binary sunset track.

It's quite funny when you realise the Lars have basically brought the same droid they owed like 20 years ago (probably at jawa inflated prices.)

Blame the PT.

There's a referance to that in one of the movie novels, where Owen distantly remembers 3P0, but comes to the conclusion all protocal droids look the same anyways.

I just finished watching the first part, and am already impressed on the way it's been done.

Bah, retcons!

It annoys me to no end when people make references to Prequel-induced retcons while watching a film from the Original Trilogy. Take this, for example; over half the comments are jokes about the fact that Leia is actually Vader's daughter and about Threepio being on Tatooine for the second time, which at this point is WRONG.

I've read this like 4 times and I still don't get it.

OK, since most of you are from across the pacific, you might not have seen this. Last Sunday in the U.S. was the Super Bowl. Its the final American football game of the Season and is huge in terms of TV viewers. That being said, believe it or not, the TV commercials are actually one of the highlights of the super bowl. A 30 sec. commercial spot during the super bowl cost on average $3,000,000 and companies produce some of the best commercials you'll see all year. This one in particular from Volkswagen was voted #1...

http://www.youtube.com/vw

And it hasn't stopped there. The little boy that played "Vader" in the commercial has become an over night phenomenon. He has appeared on numerous morning talk shows and has even had the opportunity to meet James Earl Jones. The original Voice of Darth Vader. But you know what really sucks? This kid has NEVER even seen anything SW related. Let alone the original 3 movies that James Earl Jones voiced.
