I've heard about the live action show since '07.

as far as i was aware the live action series was scrapped due to cost.

iI seriously seriously doubt that. Lucas is a billionaire. He can probably afford at least 2 seasons out of his own pocket without a significant dent in the bank account. Hell a SW TV is a licence to print money. He'll get most of it paid for by all the various toys and stuff released for it

I have to agree- the biggest thing holding them back is tCW. It's sucking up a whole lot of time (most of which appears to be wasted) that isn't being used for anything else. If they're going to do the live-action series, they're either going to have to work triple time or take tCW out of the picture. Though I don't particularily hate tCW, I would prefer to see what they do with the live-action series.

This is old news, we all have known this for a while.....and I think 'KimT' will move this to the right forum when he makes his appearance today.

Which they didn't do, I had a thread here like 2 years ago.

It has been shelved indefinitely, Lucas himself said at this point in time it will not be made due to estimations of $50 million US to make per episode.

Utube video of the man himself saying so.

Same as the old rumour of more movies, some set many years before the current 6 movies, or rumours of more past episode 6 which is just retarded.

Same as the rumour he doing 3d and blu-ray movies because he hopes to make a billion in sales which will pay for more movies or tv show.

How is that 'retarded' I doubt Lucas will make more films (Because he's pushing 70) but i'll be suprised if there wasn't a VII, VIII and IX in the future (Probably from his kids.)

Remember way back in the 70s and 80s Lucas did say he would do 9 movies (It was originallly 12) so there is at least some truth in the rumour

But those nine covered the storyline of the modern one to six. (ending in Palpatine's death) With today's storyline, the saga as it was planned for nine movies has already been finished in six.

Doesn't mean he can't think of anything else. There's a lot of potential for a post RotJ film.

Hell, Just Adapt the Thrawn Trilogy.

I hope not. His changes might completely alter what we know of that series. Honestly, I don't really want to see any more movies. The story is complete, and if you watch the saga in in-universe chronological order, it ends on a good note with the OT. They've tried a seventh movie (CW), and we all know how that turned out.

Yeah but that was just 3 or 4 episodes thrown together. It wasn't made with a movie release in mind. A theatrical release of s new Star Wars MOVIE could be good.

No, I'm pretty sure it was. It wasn't a compilation of episodes; it was actually it's own film. That doesn't make it good, but that's what it was.

I have read that Lucas claims Star Wars is the story of Anakin Skywalker, and so anything after RotJ isn't Lucas' story and he doesn't really care about it. That is why he decided against making a 'Luke' trilogy to be set after RotJ.

Actually I do remember reading that it was originally two or three episodes that were made into a film when Lucas decided to take it to theaters.

Which is just as well, since there's already a lot of future-Luke storyline out there. To get a whole trilogy Lucas'd have to squeeze it into a gap in the novel timeline and invent a new enemy interesting enough for three movies and yet forgettable enough to not be mentioned in any of the currently existing books after that in the timeline, or jump way into the future after Fate of the Jedi.

Because with Anakin being the chosen on he was so return balance to the force, with Vader killing Sidious there were no sith and only 1 trained Jedi left, there for balance had be achieved anything past that would make the whole story pointless.

Besides he has said the current story is over any future movies (except if they do the live action series) will have nothing to do with what we have seen.

There could well be 7 - 12 set during the old republic post RotJ he said he won't do.

These damn more movie things of people saying post 6, before 1 always end up like those threads from OT losers debating who shot first han or greedo.

Which is too bad, becuase there's so many villains out there that I'd love to see in a live-action film.

Actually, he says to him, everything EU is not canon. So he'll just ignore it all. Which is utter bullcrap to me. He hasn't made anything EU...well, ever. And all these authors have done that for us.

Agreed. Basically, whenever he says that, he slaps the faces of all the authors and says there work is terrible. EU has so much good stuff in it, but Lucas is so self centered in his own work he doesn't bother even trying to see it.

Unfortunately. I've said it before, if he would recognize the canonocity of the novels *cough*Traviss' novels in particular*cough*, and get a Clone Wars-era novelist to write the CW show, I would watch it. If you're going to tell a story in a portion of the timeline that popular novelists have been writing in, the easiest way to make it all fit together is to get said novelists to continue what they've already been doing and write storylines for that period.

Star Tours II Trailer

It looks rather bad, The cgi looks really rather basic. Also that Akbar is terrifying.

Aww Akbar looks quite good (as opposed to a man wearing a rubber lobster on his head ).
