simonjedi Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) Yoda obviously doesn’t approve of this film. Just look at his big CGI frown. He just looks so... bored. Palpatine is great as well, he's just sneering in undisguised contempt. E: STAR WARS EPISODE 1 THE PHANTOM MENACE 3Dand select 2D theatres... Edited October 14, 2011 by simonjedi Quote
DarthSion Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 While its good the money will go towards more movies, its stupid idea, 3d is too noob at the moment, and worst still its all over the place no universal format, they should wait until 3DTVs are made like the 3ds. Quote
spitfire Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The RotJ poster got me thinking how cool the battle scenes could have been, if Lucas had gotten inspiration from WW2 and used wookiees instead of ewoks. Quote
Fallenangel Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Just curious - what makes people consider The Force Unleashed more Star Wars than any other video game? Quote
Mr Man Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Just curious - what makes people consider The Force Unleashed more Star Wars than any other video game? It fills in the gaps between ROTS and ANH very well, and it seems to have no continuity issues. Other games like Republic Commando, or Battlefront, whilst being great games don't seem to be part of the story like TFU does. The closest to this would be KoTOR I,II and TOR, but their main problem stems from being too similar to the film set over 4000 years later. I consider TFU so SW-ish it has a place on my personal canon list. This is what I consider canon no one else has to. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Star Wars: Clone Wars Star Wars: The Clone Wars Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Star Wars: Dark Times (Untitled Live-action series) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Star Wars: Droids Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Star Wars: The Holiday Special (The animated section) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars: Ewoks Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi Edited October 19, 2011 by Mr Man Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Just curious - what makes people consider The Force Unleashed more Star Wars than any other video game? Because, as Mr. Man said, it fills in the gap between the two trilogies. It also is more in the style of the films than other video games. It has graphics good enough that it could be a movie. Small-ish bit of news I found on Google: The Force Unleashed III is currently being planned by Lucas Arts. This could be awesome! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Just curious - what makes people consider The Force Unleashed more Star Wars than any other video game? For me, the existence of a novel to go with it. Just like Republic Commando and Shadows of the Empire before it. (although admittedly, I haven't played any of those games) Quote
Clone OPatra Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Just curious - what makes people consider The Force Unleashed more Star Wars than any other video game? As I remember, Lucas worked closely on it (at least the first one) to approve the story and whatnot. This alone makes it very "Star Wars," at least in the story aspect of it. Personally, I find the Battlefront games plenty Star Wars, but since they don't really tell a part of the Star Wars story it doesn't matter. Quote

Darth Nihilus Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 They're running out of time to set the game, there's only a few months between the end of TFUII and ANH. I know, they said on the article that the designers left that time purposely so that a third could be made. But I do admit that a few months is not a long time to wrap up Starkiller's story, have Vader escape, kill the Dark Apprentice, get rid of Juno and Kota, and destroy Proxy. But I'm sure they'll figure out some kind of solution. I looked again, and the article is gone! I wonder if LucasArts had something to do with this disappearance....... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 ...destroy Proxy. He's a droid with a plethora of holographic disguises. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to have him go undercover as a civilian for, oh, twenty or thirty years, and make him reappear in some post-Jedi series. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I've never been a fan of Video Games and EU stuff, but when I chanced upon seeing this Cinematic Intro of the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic I can't help but really appreciate the animation, especially the realistic look of the characters (ala-Final Fantasy) and the action-packed and well-choreographed lightsaber fights and battle scenes. Mr Man Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 All three trailers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPV6PYSfQ5Y Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 The visual effects of the "Return" introductory cinematic trailer do look good. The lightsaber duels have that flow that CW lacks, though it almost seems like the combatants move a little slower at times than they should. What I didn't like was the music. The Imperial March and Duel of the Fates really weren't integrated that well. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 The 'Hope' trailer was my favorite, but the 'Return' came close second. If I can afford it, this will be one of the first video games I get this season! But I do wonder, will we see Darth Nihilus? It would make it that much more awesome if we did, and make it an even more definite buy for me, as he is my favorite Sith. Quote

There's a chance we might see Darth Revan (who is even more awesome ) but Nihilus is supposed to be dead, along with Sion, Tyrah, Malek, and Bandon etc. I liked the Return trailer best, the Duel was great and having it set to Duel of the Fates was just perfect . I was really hoping to see him in this game, but it still looks awesome. And Darth Revan sucks. Darth Nihilus rules! I can't wait for the release, will I be the only one here who is going to choose the Imp side? Quote

Darth Nihilus Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Darth Revan FTW . No I always play as Sith, The Empire, or The Republic. Darth Nihiluscan devour entire worlds! He defeated the leader of the Sith! He survived the Battle of Malachor V! He is more powerful than Darth Revan, hands-down. If it wasn't for that pesky Jedi Exile's power to draw on the Force energy of those around her, he would have won that final battle. And even when he was dead, he trained Darth Krayt! That's longevity for you. Darth Nihilus FTW Quote
Fallenangel Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I'm not sure how Clone O'Patra came across this, but I noticed that the Mcquarrie concept X-wing was incorporated into it, which I thought was pretty neat. Quote
simonjedi Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 That poster is hella ugly. R2's dome is a part of Vader's shoulder armour and I don't have a bloody clue what happened to Vader's face. Also a dragon? Quote
