brodey1 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 The new movie can't be as bad as Episode 1 right?........ Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 What did you not like about Episode I? Just about everything... you are joking right? Quote
Leo604 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Just about everything... you are joking right? The only thing that really really bothered me was Jar-Jar; I thought the story was okay. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 The only thing that really really bothered me was Jar-Jar; I thought the story was okay. the story was okay but jar jar + the horrid acting by the kid that played ani completely canceled out any qualities the film had. that being said I think episode 2 and 3 were a lot better and i like what i have seen of TCW Quote
Mr Man Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I think Jake gave a better performance as Anakin than Hayden did. Quote
Flipz Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I think Jake gave a better performance as Anakin than Hayden did. Totally agreed. The awkwardness that was there came from the script, IMO, not the performance. Quote

Flipz Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Are you a Angelll! Exactly. I challenge anyone who thinks Jake Lloyd's performance in that movie was bad to try doing it better, using the lines from the script. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Exactly. I challenge anyone who thinks Jake Lloyd's performance in that movie was bad to try doing it better, using the lines from the script. Besides, he was what, 10? Add to that the pressure of trying to live up to the OT, you can't really blame the kid. Quote

The Legonater Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I bet Haley Joel Osment could have done better. Probably true. Quote
Flipz Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I bet Haley Joel Osment could have done better. Well, yeah, but that would have given justification looks-wise to bringing in Hayden What's-his-face for the later movies. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) It has been confirmed that in addition to Episodes VII, VIII & IX Disney will be producing some 'stand alone' Star Wars movies. While I'm both intrigued and worried to see what story they come up with for the sequels, my initial thoughts on this are much more positive. Maybe we'll actually get the Boba Fett movie that has been rumoured in the past. Edited February 6, 2013 by Praiter Yed Quote

While I'm both intrigued and worried to see what story they come up with for the sequels, my initial thoughts on this are much more positive. Interesting. Well, they can't be worse than the holiday special, right? I'm imagining something along the lines of the Ewok movies, except, you know, actually good, hopefully. And if they do make a movie about Yoda, I could imagine it being similar to Lego's Yoda Chronicles. Hopefully they wont break the rule about not showing anything about his backstory though. Quote

Flipz Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Don't know why, but I get the stomachy feeling that these stand-alones could end badly. Lawrence Kasdan wrote the original Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is reassuring for me. I'm actually more confident in the quality of these spin-offs than I am of Episode VII itself. Quote

My feeling is that if they're good, that's great, but if they're shit - I can just ignore them like I do with the Ewok movies, the Holiday Special and all the other SW Shite that's out there. Prequels and sequels are slightly harder to ignore - they may (or may not) dilute the greatness of the OT . EDIT: Just read that young Han Solo and Boba Fett movies are 'being discussed'. Nightshroud99 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 He's like what 70? i mean he was clearly too old when he did Indiana Jones 4 Yeah but the script for that horrible movie just made him look bad... It was a kick in the balls to fans imo. Quote
Flipz Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I'm more worried about the movie doing to Han Solo what KotCS did to Indy than I am about Harrison Ford himself--Ford's a great actor, he can take a script all the way from "appalling" to "mediocre"; that means we only need a mediocre script in order for him to make Episode VII great!
