Barbaros Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Hey Bonaparte! Answering your questions: 1- I gave them my credit card number over the phone... Of course you can always review your credit card statement by the end of the month to review your purchases. 2- With regards to shipping I got an address in the US through Aramex's shop and ship service, its pretty good you should check it out. So, the sets would be shipped to them in the US and in return they would ship it to me in Bahrain, it won't be too expensive really, it might come to a total of 15-30 US dollars, we'll see... Quote

That's an interesting service. It's doesn't seem available for Belgium. But since I'm going to wait it doesn't matter. Good luck on those purchases! Which sets did you order? Quote
Barbaros Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Here's the Aramex website for the service: www.aramex.com/shopandship Don't know if they do or do not offer this service in Belgium though... With regards to what I got I ordered the following two sets: 6243 Blackbeard's Pirate Ship 6242 Imperial Fort Quote
Eilif Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) I just spoke to a LEGO store employee. Here in USA Pirates will be released in LEGO stores the first week of December!! Let's see... One month to drop hints to the wife, then she purchases them, then nearly a month 'til Christmas. It's going to be a long wait! Edited November 8, 2008 by Eilif Quote
Erdbeereis Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Hopefully they will be released widely at that time as well. At least they should be on S@H before Christmas. Quote
Patriot720 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I have a question that I'm sure at least one of the members of our community can answer-what are the prices in US dollars of each set? I really hope I can get this question answered as my wallet is burning to know! Quote

VBBN Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) All this news is getting to my head... Well, they would be prizes that cost money. Edited November 9, 2008 by ~VBBN~ Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Well, they would be prizes that cost money. Not necessarily young grasshopper, perhaps discovering the prize is its own reward??? Quote
Shtick Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Just got back from the Downtown Disney Lego Store (Anaheim, CA). No new sets yet. Quote
bub166 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but in older pictures of these, the brown vest was brown on all sides, unlike the old version, but on the front, around where the arm connects, it still had the yellow there, as if the arm was coming out. Glad to see they fixed that. Anyway, nice to see this. I won't be ordering them, but either way, the first week of December is only 3 weeks away. Quote
mania3 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I just bought Blackbeard's Bounty and the Soldier's Fort today at Legoland in Carlsbad, CA. They also had the Giant Castle Chess Set on sale for $159.99. Quote
TalonCard Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I broke down and bought the rest of the small sets--including the two impulse sets, which I know I didn't see there yesterday. I didn't see the new Pirate island set either; but it was in some of the pictures that were posted, so maybe they'll change the selection a little. No more Pirates for me for a while, but man, how cool is it that I was in the first place in the whole world to start selling new Pirate sets after more than a decade? :) TC Quote
chris_austin Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Hey Chris! Those sets offered on ebay UK are way too expensive mate! I suggest you wait or order them from the US like I did today, its way cheaper... Well i'm in the UK so I think it would work out cheaper to get them from here even though the seller is charging loads for shipping as well as the sets. I'm going to wait though. I think i'll prefer to get them in a physical shop. It's fun to go to the shelves and pile up a load of sets to take to the checkout In 8397 Pirate Survival, is he holding a handbag?! Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 What would the AUS prices be? I'm thinking we'll need to rake out between $120 - $150 for Brickbeard's Bounty, $75 - $95 for the Imperial Fortress, about the same for the pirate island, the kraken about $45 - $60, a little more for the island, $15 - $20 for Cannon Attack, and $5 for the impulses. I hope I'm above though... Quote

StarWarsPirates ON HB Stalker Pirate Captain thingy-ma-bob AWAY! Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Great!!! I really didn't expect them that fast!!! I hope that they will soon be available in my country as well! Quote
Fluyt Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Why are these already released in the u.s. and not anywhere else? Cheap prices (compared to the rest of the world) and early releases?, come on! Why TLG?, Why? Does TLG hate the rest of the world or something? If I'm going to have to wait much longer and TLG just switches $ to € sign (or worse) I'm not sure if I'll get them. They're nice sets, but there's "something" which isn't right, and it's not worth paying too much for. Dunno what it is. I do like the backprint, and I really like the look of the minifigs, but I still have to see if they'll fit in nicely with the old pirate minifigs. I like some of the new parts though (telescope ). furious Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 wonder how long before they show up on S@H? Quote
