pedro Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Hey everyone, I was never happy with LEGO's version of the AT-RT, the proportions, the colours and mostly the scale... almost the size of an AT-ST! The several sets I bought were reduced to [very useful] parts and the excellent clonetroopers reassigned within my grand army. So, a while ago I decide to create my own version of the AT-RT which some of you may remember it from the Eurobricks Clone Wars competition. I've subtly updated my version since then and decided to showcase it here... hope you all like it! All Terrain Recon Transport. The patrol moves out! A close-up of the side & pilot. Close-up of the mounted AT-RT pilot. The AT-RT's feet. Hold it! Size comparison with one of my heavy clonetroopers. And the dis-mounted AT-RT pilot. The main challenges I had with re-creating the AT-RT all related to scale; getting the general shape right and creating legs that looked authentic while keeping it small and not going overboard in parts. The legs are slightly weak for play, but it stands and poses well for my purposes being a collector-displayer. I love Arealight's custom parts and used one of their specialised clonetrooper helmets. There's also a clone blaster by Little Arms in the last image. I'm pretty happy with finished model and now have two in my grand army! Guss Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 really nice , and your pictures are great ! the way you made the legs is smart, great job! Quote
Bounty Hunter Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Nice job . but I think the legs could use a little more armor, though. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Very cool. BTW - check out your Brickshelf folder and the crab droid looks really sweet! Quote
KinGanon Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Good job, nice shape and proportions Also I like the use of an arealight head(it makes it look very professional) Quote
WhiteFang Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Nice piece of work! I like how you design the walker. Looks realistic and similar to the orignal concept. Thanks for sharing. Come to think of it, I beginning to like how LEGO Clone Wars design. It's very nicely designed. Quote
pr0visorak Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Great design. I agree to that the one lego made was a bit unporportionate. I really like yours and the helmet looks good too! It is from Arealight right? Quote
Legoking Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Did you make that helmet because it is really good? Quote

KimT Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Great work pedro. I like it Simple, yet a perfect design for this small walker. I'm not sure I'll prefer this over the Clone Scout Walker. Perhaps an army of CSW's and this would look awesome. How about posting an inventory for the lazy ones of us, who'd like to build this beaty themselves. Quote
iotacode Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I agree with all the guys that this is a superb work, a great beauty indeed Quote

legopiotre Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 This AT-RT is really well done. I really like how you used only no special pieces to make the legs in an easy but realistic way. Great job !! Quote
iH Master 13uilder17 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 nice work however no offfense but it does look too skinny. but i a gree that Lego's AT-RT was out of proportion. Quote
Razzer Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 That's Great, but I would make the legs a little thicker, because to me it looks a little flimsy. I'm gonna need to buy a couple o' those AR-RT pilots though... Quote
CommanderBly 128 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Nice design, these are great. I built myself one from looking at pictures on brickshelf. By far one of the best AT-RTs ive seen. Quote
Patriot720 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 That looks very good! But The legs look a bit shaky.. Quote
commandercody Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Very nice ! I can't seem to figure out how you built the feet!? I really like the use of Arealight, it makes it look like a pro made it. Quote
ROCON Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I like it, the driver gets your attention. As for the detail, truly curious on how you combined those slopes. Watch out though, there's competition out there. 5 out of out of 5! ;) Quote
Scout Trooper Guy Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I love it!!! That is too cool! I also like the AT-RT drivers! Quote
stormtroopertj Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Can I have a link of where you got the helmet? Quote
