DNL Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 This is my first CCCVI entry. The leader of the outlaws lives like a king in his hidden fortress, but will this luxury soon be over? Brickshelf folder when public Flickr Quote
Thrash Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 That's awesome. I love how you put the spears in the wall to make it spiked! Quote
meschepers Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Oh my wow. That is BEAUTIFUL! I love the landscaping on it. I really do love how you have the spear in the stockade wall to make it look sharpened. I have seen it done with the viking horns before but never with spears. If only I had enough cylinders, cones and spears. That is a really good idea! LOVE IT! Quote
Asuka Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 An impressive work. The contrast of the wooden versus the stony structures works great and the details on the facade´re great. The landscaping´s simply marvelous and the interior´s really smart and wonderful. Cool work on the candles! Monstrous hunting cats on! Quote
Dan Church Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Looking through all the pics, I love what you did in the cave, and the tower is well done too. You always seem to find a way to put water into your MOCs and that adds a great detail. Great MOC. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Beautiful MOC DNL! I love the overgrown forest look that it has and the fortress is very well-designed. One of my favorite parts are the spears in the wood, they really add a lot. Your rocks are also stunning, I like how you combined grey and dark grey. Great work! Quote
KimT Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Absolutely stunning work. I can't wait for your BS-folder to go public, so that I can study all those neat little details. Thanks for sharing it with us Quote
Guss Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 that's a really great entry, I love how the cliff look, how the fortress itself look, the spears on the wall, the wooden tower, and all the details you put in it^^ that's really, really great! Quote
MoonCheese Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I love those trees, and the wood portion of the structure! Did you use log pieces, or are those round 1*1 bricks? Quote
timbutnice Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Fantastic job - beautifully proportioned for the base plate size. Love the trees! Any chance of more pics (had a look at your BS and Flickr already) - especially the rock work near the top? cheers, timbutnice Quote
Kliq Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Absolutely incredible! At first glance I had actually thought you dipped brown spears in white paint. Very very clever! Amazing how new techniques can be unveiled even today. Quote
Zorro Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 As usual, this MOC is awesome! I think the interior where the "Forest King" and his men are eating looks like one of the best castle interiors I have seen in quite some time. The small tower on the Forest Castle looks neat as well and so do the wooden pallisades around the fortress. and keep building! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Awesome work again DNL, I really love the spears on the exterior walls. The trees look fantastic, and the interior is beautifully detailed. Thanks and good luck in CCCVI. Quote
DNL Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks for the comments everybody! I love those trees, and the wood portion of the structure! Did you use log pieces, or are those round 1*1 bricks? I used 1x1 round bricks for the pallisade. I will upload more pictures soon. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 That's an amazing MOC, DNL! I really it! It's so realistic and includes so many details! Very well done! Btw: Do you have some pics of the inner courtyard, too? Klaus-Dieter Quote
Norro Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Very nice construction and design implementation. Some lovely details and a nicely compressed scene. Good work! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Very impressed. Love the wooden feel to the walls and tower. Nice job :) Quote
Dwarvenlord Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Like your Dwarvenmine you did the landscaping very well, and the building itself is just great. Very neat tower and good use of the stained glass technique, but most of all I love your pallisade . This'll be sure something to steal erm... LEARN from Quote
NewRight Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Looks fabulous. Forestmen would be proud. Great work and the details everywhere. Quote
