I have a star wars magnet set and Boba Fett came with it. I would like to take off his helmet, head and legs. But I can't because of the magnets. Is there any techniques on how to remove the magnets without destroying the minifig? I would rather not breck this one because it is the only one I have.

Thank You for your help :classic:

I've got no idea sorry to say; I haven't even got any! But I'll move this to the customs forum where someone might have some experience in this.

(I did a quick search but found nothing... :hmpf_bad: )

It isn't really the magnets, except that they caused TLG to produce the figure this way. Basically, the body and legs are glued, that's just a fact of life you won't get past. You can remove the individual legs (but not the hips) and replace them with new ones to get rid of those magnets, but you won't get the one out of the torso without hell and potential damage. They did that to keep children from swallowing them.

I didn't know the helmet was glued on (just never noticed). The green clone, for example, wasn't, so I'm surprised.

That said, the current magnet set with Boba isn't glued at all, if you want a quick way to pick up a new one for a decent price.

Actually Legoking, I got the helmet off.

WARNING: My technique is not a good one if you plan to reuse the torso.

1.-I used a pocketknife to pry the magnet off of his back.

2.-Pull the helmet right off.

3.-Pry the magnet off of whichever it is still stuck to.

4.-Attemped to get glue off, was FAILED attempt.

5.-Pull the head out. (It was not glued in)

Or you could just buy this set, since those figures aren´t magnet figs.

Yes, indeed. I'd go with that. Safest way.

TLG just made it impossible too unmagnify the Minifig magnets simply to torture us all.
