Lego12 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Can people please stop quoting the pictures? We've seen them, no need to take up so much space. Thanks. This is very nice and that helmet is great for many things.....I can only imagine..... Quote
Algernon Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 We may not see the actual Police figs yet, but I would be satisfied if TLC reused the old Clone Pilot torso like the one below, matched to different colored arms and legs, with a standard head and helmet/visor on top. Oh, not me. I want new torsos. And I want them to kick as much megablocks as the SPII ones did. Oh man guys- you can actually kind of SEE the Space Police figs through the cockpit! Look, you can see sunglasses and a helmet. Not much, but you get an idea of where the direction is headed. Quote
JCC1004 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The alien's torso looks like an imperial pilot's. But still the aliens are way better than the 2 piece mars mission ones Quote
M'Kyuun Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Cool. Different than I expected, but cool nonetheless. Can't wait to see the rest. Quote

Not much, but you get an idea of where the direction is headed. In a perfect world I would want all new torsos, but there is always that darn cost of development thing. I have heard that those printed minifig torsos are the most expensive element in every set LEGO makes. Anyway I hope I'm wrong at the end and we do get new ones. Anyway I thank Mania3 for the one leak we have all been eagerly waiting for, and that more and clearer images are just around the corner. Needless to say I'll be buying every set at the first moment of availability Edited January 11, 2009 by Spacefan Quote
danth Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I like the alien, but the ships get a big ol' "Meh" from me. The hot rod is interesting but clashes with the white ship, and the white ship doesn't look so hot. I was hoping for designs like the Star Justice set. Those were great. Quote
kidcharm Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Hopefully, those aren't all stickers... I love the Alien head, and the pictured set looks fun too. Thanks for the pics. Quote

Different from Star Justice, yes. The hot rod is supposed to be from the Space Police's new enemies, and the white Police fighter isn't the only ship or set of the theme by far. I know the design of this theme won't please everyone, just as most themes don't, but speaking for myself it is a light year's improvement over Mars Mission and thats what counts. Quote
ultraman_bc Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 In case it is not mentioned, the vehicles shown in the pics are from set 5973. Quote
Athos Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I don't know about that black space-car thing. Its really silly looking, but at the same time, its kind of retro-cool. Steve Quote
Mocha Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) hmm.. They do look nice but I probly wont get any... BTW the set shown on that poster IS 5971 (gold heist). I can tell by the gold bars falling out of the baddies hot rod on second thought it could be 5973 High Speed pursuit, but most likely not. Edited January 11, 2009 by Mocha Quote
Algernon Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The two ships might not be from the same set, you know. It's promotional poster. Why don't people like the white ship? I love the design... it really feels like a fighter. Quote
xenologer Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I love how they integrate bionicle and technic pieces almost seamlessly with the system bricks. Quote
mania3 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Why don't people like the white ship? I love the design... it really feels like a fighter. Me too! It seems pretty great to me on all counts. The design even reminds me of some of the post-SP2 ships. Quote
Oky Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Dude, that looks badass! I love the badguy and his space hot rod, and the Police fighter looks really cool too! I'm looking forward to this theme even more now! Thank you so much, mania! Quote
Algernon Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Anyone else notice the modular jail cell on the back of the white ship? Quote

I love the design... it really feels like a fighter. Well I really like the white fighter, in my view its a significant improvement over the MX-41 Switch Fighter, even if doesn't transform. Best part is I'll get a matching blue canopy to replace the orange one on my Recon Dropship. Quote
mania3 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 There's an off chance I can go back tomorrow and get some better, more detailed photographs for everyone. If I make it to LEGOLAND, trust I'll be taking my camera. Quote

If I make it to LEGOLAND, trust I'll be taking my camera. I have no problem with that, I'll be awaiting them here with great eagerness. If you could sneak in a shot or two of the Galactic Enforcer, or something that looks like a large Police capital ship, that would be most appreciated. Quote

He can't; this was just a small promotional poster he found tucked away somewhere in LEGO land. Quote
mania3 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 He can't; this was just a small promotional poster he found tucked away somewhere in LEGO land. Right. I go there at least once a week, so I'm going to start packing my digital camera with me just in case. With all the new things coming out, there's no telling what I'd have to share. Although, it's probably just a matter of time before real promotional pictures start leaking. If they've got ads up somewhere, other promotions can't be far behind. Quote
Dark Brickz Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 looking good i think i just found something new to collect.. i cant wait to get my hands on these! Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The alien seems like the best part of the new theme so far, but we have seen very little, so I will wait to finalize that remark, but the helmet just looks incredibly cool. I am very anxious, like everyone else, to see final set pictures. This is a very effective teaser. Quote

Oh well, some higher-res pics of that poster would be equally appreciated. Although I suspect we'll be seeing pictures of actual sets soon enough, wherever they come from. Quote
