mania3 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Makes you wonder, doesn't it? It was like they went out of their way to replace it with something by getting this old "COMING IN APRIL" Speed Racer banner. Quote
Corvus Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Yeah. Sounds like someone really slipped up and put this up. Hurray for mistakes! Quote
Hinckley Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Or they wanted to give a little preview but got sick of people asking why the product wasn't on the shelves... Quote
mania3 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Or they wanted to give a little preview but got sick of people asking why the product wasn't on the shelves... There could be a lot of truth to this, given the fact that you get some pretty obnoxious tourists in there. I even heard a mother admonishing an employee today because the prices of the products were too high. I sat there for a moment and listened and realized that this is why MegaBloks remain in business. Now that's funny. One time at Target, I heard a mother tell her 7 year old son that he couldn't have a set because the recommended age was 8-12. I often find myself helping people out in the LEGO aisle at Target, especially after the holidays when everything's sold out and they wonder why there's nothing on the shelves. Quote
hewkii9 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 It could be the car from Gold Heist and the Police from Hyperspeed Pursuit, possibly. Quote

Mr Spielbrick Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 It's almost tempting to put a lock on this thread until further information is... well, what needs to be done? Does TLC have to issue an official statement? Dudes and dudettes, listen up: - The vehicles in the pics are from Hyperspace Pursuit. FACT. Do not argue, please. - The alien, as great as he is looking, is NOT -let me repeat that: NOT- Squidman. Okay, I need to change my tone before someone with authority's gonna slap me for back seat driving. Anyway, great scoop mania3, thanks for the pics and here's hoping we'll be seeing a lot more of this promising line soon! Quote
Sir Dano Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Does TLC have to issue an official statement? Yes, yes they do. Quote
Sir Dano Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Why? o_O We might get pics of all the sets that way. Edited January 16, 2009 by sir dano Quote
Draykov Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) Well, Mark Stafford (in an interview with Brothers Brick which I linked to earlier) said that he contributed to designs/designed 3 of the upcoming space sets...so I think news regarding Space Police III is on the verge of being officially released. When is Toy Fair again? Feb. 16? Edited January 17, 2009 by Draykov Quote

When is Toy Fair again? Feb. 16? Looks like Mark (aka Nabii) has been playing around with some Space Police ideas of his own lately, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=153223 He certainly is talented! Toy Fair is being held February 15-18, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, http://www.toyassociation.org/AM/Template....al_Information1 Edited January 17, 2009 by Spacefan Quote
dieselboy m Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Thanks, mania3, for posting those pics! I haven't been so excited for a theme in a while. Quote
Patriot720 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I never was a classic space fan, or a mars mission fan, but this new line looks great! I especially like the alien's headpiece. But it seems as if this line will be heavily "stickered", similar to mars mission, based on the police ship Quote

But it seemsas if this line will be heavily "stickered", similar to mars mission, based on the police ship I have to say though, I really don't mind stickers all that much, because I always have the option of keeping them off. Of course, if there are just a few pieces that have designs on them, I would much rather have them printed, but I wouldn't necessairily want 10 printed pieces. Quote
Zarkan Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Personally, I feel that TLC has a fairly good idea on how to balance stickers and printed pieces in sets. The printed pieces we usually see are small and can be used in multiple themes, while all the stickers present in certain themes would make pieces less useable if they were printed on them. Imagine if all the pieces in exo-force were printed - that would heavily undermine the usefulness of all the curved slopes. Quote
mania3 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Yeah, I'm also of the mindset that stickers aren't really a bad thing. To me, they increase the options available when considering using certain pieces from a MOC standpoint. But I honestly think they flesh out the models that TLC releases rather well. I know many people disagree, but I honestly think they make the designs look better (most of the time.) Quote
Algernon Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Stickers are best enjoyed in moderation. When an entire model is coated with them, it becomes frustratingly tedious. I still prefer printed parts to both of the former situations. Quote
CP5670 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I like printing much better in most situations, except for some cases where the base piece is itself rare (in which case it's better to have both options). I expect to see mostly stickers on these new sets though. Printed parts were much more common just four or five years ago, but have become increasingly rare recently. Quote
Knightsword Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 On the back of the SP ship, there looks to be a "bacta tank" could that be our new jail cells? Quote
mania3 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I believe I read somewhere that there would be cryogenics involved in the capture of the villains. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I believe I read somewhere that there would be cryogenics involved in the capture of the villains. So awesome, can't wait to see further details once Toyfair happens. Batbirck Away! Quote
kill will Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I believe I read somewhere that there would be cryogenics involved in the capture of the villains. Hmm, there is the Freeze ray frenzy set, I would think that would have something to do cyrogenics. Quote
