seahawkeye Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) Apologies if this has already done the rounds, but did you catch a peek at the female cop? Woman in uniform! This makes a good thing even better IMO. Edited March 10, 2009 by seahawkeye Quote

This makes a good thing even better IMO. I think you gave the wrong link. A female cop sounds interesting, but now a days, things like that are common. (pirate wench, agent Trace, etc) Quote
Thrash Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) I assume this is the link seahawkeye meant to give. As far as I can tell, the female cop doesn't look like anything special. However, I can't really see if her uniform is different from the other space police officers. ~Thrash Edited March 9, 2009 by Thrash Quote
mania3 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I'm counting down the days until I see these. The poster at LEGOLAND originally said they'd be popping up in June, but if the other loose release dates for 2009 sets apply, we'd be seeing them as early as April or May. Quote
seahawkeye Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Thanks, Thrash, I didn't realise I'd got the linking mechanism all wrong. Fixed now. Natman8000, I appreciate that femmes are more commonplace across the Legoverse these days, but has there been a wide-release rank-and-file space girl since the Ice Babe in 1993? There were no chicks on Mars (which was madness, there needed to be chicks on Mars!). I'm jus' saying, a space copette adds a great dimension to this whole enterprise. Quote
RangerBob Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 there was a female one @ insectoids, i think but you are right, we need more women in space Quote

Actually, there was a female Martian called Cassiopeia in Life on Mars. there was a female one @ insectoids, i think Yep, the leader, Gypsy Moth. but you are right, we need more women in space We need more Lego women in all themes (which we are gradually getting). :skull: Quote

The Green Brick Giant Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I thought it was August? The LEGO Stores get them early, and because of the terrible shipping company LEGO now uses if they are supposed to be there in June that really means the end of July. Quote
mania3 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I thought it was August? They announced all the sets at the toy fair with an August release date except for 5979 - Maximum Security Transport, 5980 - Squidman's Pit Stop, 8399 - K9 Robot, and 8400 - Speeder, which I assume will be the ones released first. Could be wrong. But I'm just going off the fact that I did see the banner stating they'd be released in June, so I assumed it was going to be a first wave of those sets which did not make a Toy Fair appearance. The LEGO Stores get them early, and because of the terrible shipping company LEGO now uses if they are supposed to be there in June that really means the end of July. Yes, they do. Sorry I didn't see this post before but as I was posting my reply you must've been posting this. For instance, everyone may recall when they had the Pirates sets appear in Orlando to coincide with the big Pirate event. Well, they popped up at LEGOLAND at the same time. So, I got these sets on November 6th, which was a long while before they were released anywhere else. Quote
user Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I assume this is the link seahawkeye meant to give. OH MY GOSH! I was looking at the pics of container heist on that link and I was looking at the side of the canister with the black grafitti on it and when I tried to make out what it said I finally saw the word Blacktron after a while does is say that or is it just me? No, it really says blacktron another great throwback from classic (well sorta) space. Is blacktron classic? Quote
user Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Is blacktron classic? Yes it is. Well atleast everyone I know considers it to be classic. Quote
mania3 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Yes it is. Well atleast everyone I know considers it to be classic. Not technically. It is classic Space, from a historical perspective. Not Classic Space, from a literal cataloged perspective. If that makes sense. Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Not technically. It is classic Space, from a historical perspective. Not Classic Space, from a literal cataloged perspective. If that makes sense. It does. I always thought classic space was the ones with the trans yellow screens and one color space suits (and everything else ) Not at all. ..... Quote
Algernon Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Everything prior to 2001 Space could be considered classic imo. And yes there is a difference between classic and Classic. Quote
mania3 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Not at all. Classic Space is a proper name for a very specific theme. Otherwise, calling something classic Space is just considering a theme classic in a historical context. Quote
CP5670 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) There is always some confusion over what that term means. I call the sets up to 1987/88 classic space, with the minifigs having the old style helmets, and refer to the later stuff as the space themes or space factions. To complicate the issue further, classic space (by my definition) spanned many years and had at least 4 distinct color schemes, and it seems like many people are only talking about the original Blue/Gray/TrYellow sets when they refer to classic space. The last wave of classic space sets were actually almost identical to Futuron, and were only distinguished by the minifigs. Edited March 11, 2009 by CP5670 Quote
Batbrick Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 So, what's our favourite Alien fig? Mine's a toss up between the Skull twins and Squidman, the former are badass but the latter is adorable! Batbrick Away! Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Four-Arms. He's by far the most ridiculous minifig I've ever seen, and he's got the perfect torso for a Slitheen. Quote
Iron Moose Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Space Police 3 is up for pre-order at toysrus.ca, with a ship date of June 1st. Quote
