user Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 There are too many to do that! Are you saying you will join the doofus clan!? Come too the Doof side it is your destiny! Okay lets get back on track here! Quote
Algernon Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Ignore the doofus! My status should clearly disqualify the validity of your accusation. Good day, sir. Oh, are we supposed to be talking about Space Police? Quote
hewkii9 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Oh, are we supposed to be talking about Space Police? Nah, I like this. It's like a home away from home for people who post in the Bionicle topic regularly. Quote
Algernon Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 It would be nice if we had something to talk about. Seems like Space Police news has run dry... there's only one set we haven't seen in detail yet. I have a hunch, though, that these sets will start trickling out soon, and once that happens we'll get reviews, magazine articles, etc. I'm hopeful we'll see a second wave. Let's hope that the theme does well in sales, to encourage LEGO to make more original Space themes like this! Quote

Let's hope that the theme does well in sales, to encourage LEGO to make more original Space themes like this! I'm pretty sure the SP3 line will go well, because it's got neat things for everyone. The cool premise of police versus aliens in cool vehicles sells it for kids, and the neat aliens (especially the twins and orc-a-like) as well as the return of a proper space theme and numerous references to Classic Space will sell it for the AFOLs. And that complaint about SP3 being "specist" probably won't hold, because it's been done in LEGO many times recently with Mars Mission, Power Miners, Agents and even Castle. The bad guys are always non-human. Quote
chris_austin Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I'm sorry, I don't come here very often and don't have time to look through 80 pages to see if these have been posted already. The set numbers and names were in the first post but no picture 8399 & 8400 I'm still not sure what to make of the new Space Police sets and minifigs Quote

Hey does anybody know why there is no downloadable Kranxx poster yet all yhe other villians are there? Quote
user Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I, for one, dislike the new names. Why? I can understand pliston-Kranxxx But many have improved such as Gasmask-Snake and spike-Slizer! Quote
---Vertea--- Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Why? I can understand pliston-Kranxxx But many have improved such as Gasmask-Snake and spike-Slizer! I like that slizer's name is a callback to the slizer series from Technic. Quote
Algernon Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I like that too, although I doubt that was intentional. Quote
hewkii9 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I think it was done just because it was an alien-ish name that LEGO already had cleared through Legal but wasn't using. Could be a homage though. Quote
Algernon Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I don't see how it could be a homage. It's a Space theme and nothing about it has anything to do with Throwbots. I'm dying for a little news. I'd like good pictures of those two exclusives, I wish somebody would stumble across them soon. Maybe I should go do a little digging. On the plus side, the sets themselves will be out soon! I warrant they'll be appearing in a few lucky places mid-May and then will show up in full force mid June. Can't wait! I'll pick me up a Gold Heist. Quote

I know for sure that they will come way before august because in my usual Lego club mag they gave me bonus material as a B-day present and it said they will officially release the sets around july but I am guessing they will start popping up around may! But something weird is going on there is no wanted poster for Kranxx and he wasn't hiding in my mag either! I wonder if he was already caught before the sets even came out! Quote
mania3 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I just got my mail for the day and I had my LEGO Club magazine in it. I was expecting a Space Police cover given that e-mail they sent out a few weeks back. Unfortunately, it was a LEGO City cover, but throughout the magazine are many hidden Space Police references. For instance, on the cover, Squidman is hiding out inside the payload of a front-end loader as a Space Police officer peaks out from behind for him. Then, when you open the magazine, Max, the LEGO club guy is replaced by Squidman explaining that the magazine is filled with the hidden outlaws from Space Police hiding in the various pages of the magazine. Pretty neat. Some nice glimpses at the smoother non-prototype models of these aliens. Quote
Algernon Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Same here. I think it'll be soon. They were heavily advertising the summer sets in that mag. Quote

I would have liked at least REAL pics of the aliens... But I'm sure they'll start popping up in stores sooner than we think... Quote
