The Green Brick Giant Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I'd say 6-8 weeks before the LEGO Stores really start getting the sets in large numbers. However in the USA with the terrible shipping service they have now it might be 6-8 months. Quote

I dunno... Sets that aren't Bionicle usually land in stores quite a bit before they're s'posed to, so... who knows... Quote
Skipper 24 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I'm not sure if anyone has seen this. It appears to be the low down on the new alien bad guys. PDF Link. Also the LEGO.com message Boards have a new space category and Lego.com also have anew space product page. Again sorry if this info has already been shared. Quote

-JD- Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Nice stop motion trailer! I will only get the smaller sets because of the *cough*better*cough* SW sets. Greetings, JD Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Better and Star Wars in the same sentence? *Head Explodes* Quote

user Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Take that vile slander elsewhere you infidel! Oh, and that website is awesome. I'm so pumped for this line. Well I am pumped X2! I love you they got down that misty slightly tinted mistery feel in the video! Quote
Oky Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Well, I am not pumped at all. No, seriously, this line doesn't interest me all that much for some reason, even though I like the spaceship designs and love the Classic Space references. I think it's the overly cartoony baddies that ruin it for me. That stop-mo teaser is nice, though. I like how that guy punches the camera. I love you Quote

daxflame680 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 OMIGOSH THAT IS THE AWESOMEST TRAILER I"VE EVER SEEN! Yup, I'm pretty excited for this new line! I will only get the smaller sets because of the *cough*better*cough* SW sets. Wrong! Quote

It's nice to see that LEGO doesn't always take itself seriously. They are, after all, two-inch-high plastic people. It's hard to feel intimidated. The cartoony works for LEGO Space, too, since it's a retro sci-fi theme. I think it fits, although in this case there's a bit of a clash between the Space Police and the baddies. The Space Police are obviously supposed to be taken seriously. Quote
user Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) Oops!I hope they start popping up before my birthday I am planning on doing my first reviews on them! Edited May 7, 2009 by computerbug Quote

Oky Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Get out. Hey! I simply said that I'm not very excited for these sets. Is that reason enough to kick me out of this thread? And even if it was, you're not in the position to do so, so shut up. The cartoony works for LEGO Space, too, since it's a retro sci-fi theme. I think it fits, although in this case there's a bit of a clash between the Space Police and the baddies. The Space Police are obviously supposed to be taken seriously. That's exactly my problem: They clash too much. It would have been fine if the good guys were somewhat cartoony too, but like this, you can't take the baddies seriously. And what are heroes without good villains? I am planning on doing my first reviews on them! Good luck with that! You might want to practice for when the time comes and join the reviewers academy. Oh wow. Tell me someone with a CLONE WARS avatar didn't just call something else cartooney. Sheeeeeesh. Point taken. But these guys are more cartoony than anything in Star Wars. Squidman is even more cartoony than Jar Jar! Quote
Algernon Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Point taken. But these guys are more cartoony than anything in Star Wars. Squidman is even more cartoony than Jar Jar! I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure Squidman never said "exqueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze me". Quote
Sir Dano Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure Squidman never said "exqueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze me". Thanks, now I'll always associate Squidman with Jar Jar. Quote
CP5670 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just noticed that the wanted posters contain the classic printed arrow tiles in the background art. I wonder if it's just random decoration or if there is a chance of seeing those in the sets. They haven't been produced for several years but are very useful for MOCs. Quote

Eh, classic or not, I found those bricks more annoying than anything else. They look so out of place on pretty much every set they're put on. I've never found a use for them, either. Quote

I've never found a use for them, either. You're the first person I have seen who doesn't like them at all. I think they look great, especially for hangar bays or landing pads, and they can also be used as a generic "caution" sign around engines, opening doors, etc. I've used them on Technic models as well. I'm guessing it's just the designers using som old bricks they have laying around. Haven't noticed any in any sets yet. However if they do reappear I think they're probably going to be stickers... Algernon Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I wonder if we'll finally get a look at that Max Security Transport at that event this Saturday. Quote
mania3 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I wonder if we'll finally get a look at that Max Security Transport at that event this Saturday. Perhaps. Isn't this the same event where these Exclusive sets are poised to be revealed? What event is it? Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 This sets look really interesting and exciting. Most of the aliens look very childish and power-rangers-villian-like, but some like the guy from Hyperspeed Pursuit strong reminds me on a german rapper, called Sido. The impulses and three smallest sets are must-haves for me. Maybe a few of the Hyperspeed Pursuit guys, too and I´ve got a few commanders for my battledroids or better fitting aliens for the Mos Eisley Cantina. Quote
