Some Star Wars sets are leaking- perhaps Space Police is next.

Doubt it. :sceptic:

In my Australian 2009 LEGO Catalog there was that Leaked pic [Which is where they got the pic from, An Aussie Catalog] And it had no Space in it....or Pirates for that matter :hmpf_bad:

But Yea I guess there are no more themes to leak accept Space...Im guessing January for leaks. :sceptic:

There are lots of new second-half 09 sets to leak yet, but Space is the only theme that we haven't seen because it's a Summer theme like Mars Mission. LEGO seems to release new themes in the summer for some reason... weird.

Is this the only new theme we know of for later in the year?

Another new summer theme is mystery theme aimed at girls I think.

Are there any pics yet?

If not, can someone link me to the LEGO cache?

No pictures yet, be paitent.

Holy crap! Who?

Squidman appears to be a central character to this theme. I'm not sure how I feel about that... It's different from classic Space, to be sure, which didn't have any central characters. But we've guessed from the beginning this would be Agents in space, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Why is it unlikley?

Because we haven't gotten an Octan station in City or Black Falcons in Castle. Lego's a business, it's going to move forward with new ideas rather than rehash old ones.

Octan is still very much alive, look at they city sets, it crops up alot. And Black Falcons is but one of the many 'old factions'.

They could return.

It's just highly unlikely. It's called "Space Patrol", not Space Police, which makes me believe it's going to make like Power Miners and be nothing more than a vague reference to themes long past. LEGO's been doing this a lot lately, I imagine they've had some success with it. But if you're hoping for any official entry into Space Police lore, you're likely to be disappointed.

Squidman will not be the only "criminal" in the series. From the other pics, we have an orange alien, a grey looking one (looks like a dragon head) and a pair of white skellie faced twins. There is another green alien in set 5971 that looks like squidman but the pic seems to show this one has a longer neck. So there is an interesting bunch of different aliens and not a specific group like the older Blacktron.

The series name is Space Police. This is what is shown on the boxart.
