Still Raindrop Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Personally I was most impressed by the detail. It has a pretty well realized interior, and the cockpit looks great too. It even has a compartment to store a little land rover (currently the only known land vehicle from the theme). No longer true. The set designer who gave me the "chop-shop-turned-weapon-shop" detail of Squidman's Pitstop told me that the set contains "2 small flying ships and a spikey ground vehicle." So, that third vehicle we see (the one right next to the shop) is indeed a land vehicle. Quote

Still Raindrop Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I've only seen the small, fuzzy picture--are there others? I'm just relaying what was told to me. Quote

An onboard rover is very much in line with the old Space flagship sets, like the Galactic Mediator. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think we're talking about different sets. I was discussing the Galactic Enforcer. Ah; looking back, I see my wording was rather unclear. What I meant to say was that the upcoming set, Squidman's Pitstop, contains another ground vehicle. Thus, the Galactic Enforcer is no longer the only known set with a ground vehicle. Quote

Is the other ground vehicle a Police vehicle or an alien vehicle? Oh, by the way, there's also a rumor that the Max Security Transport is a ground vehicle. I sure hope so. Quote

It looks like it's an alien vehicle. It's the spiky one next to the shop in this picture. (It looks like a pretty cool set; it'll be nice to have an alien ground vehicle, as well as a smaller police cruiser that has a windscreen) Edited May 29, 2009 by Mariko Quote

Maegnus Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 toysrus.ca used to have all 6 1st wave SPIII sets with a "ship date" of June 1st, but they got the 4 smaller sets in stock at my local TRU a couple weeks ago. Now those 4 are listed as "in stock" and the two larger sets (GE and HP) have a new "ship date" of July 3rd. By this logic, I am hoping that my local TRU gets those 2 in stock in a couple of weeks. Quote
Algernon Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 This is very strange. The two strongest SP3 sets are being held back until July? I can't possibly see why. I'd like to get a review of Space Truck Getaway soon; it looks good. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/File:5980.jpg I found this picture of squidman's pitstop if any one has not seen it yet. Looks like a very cool set. Quote

Hm, this set looks very cool. I've found it this morning on brickshelf and wanted to post it, but you were faster I'll buy Squidman's Escapa and this set with this orange guy Ewok Quote

Oky Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Do we know for sure that the impulse sets will be released in the US? Even though they are available in Europe, they can't be found over here to date. But maybe they'll come out together with the large sets here? Quote

General Armendariz Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I spotted the 2 SP impulses at Galeria Kaufhof in Munich, but none of the other sets were there.A review is forthcoming. I have all the others except tose and the two big sets But its still good! Quote
Hellingly Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I found all 8 sets in the Lego store in Brighton (UK) yesterday and bought the 2 impulse sets and the next two smallest. I love the designs of all the bad guys. Quote
jamzee Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) I hope UK does get SPIII, there seems to be some question if we are getting it or not. There is no "teaser" site yet on the UK Product page @ LS@H -what is going on...??!! While on the subject too, it would be great if we could have a Lego shop less than 3.5+ hours away from the south west of the UK!! I have to say the supply in retail stores of Lego generally (locally) is shocking... I don't know why this is? Edited May 31, 2009 by jamzee Quote

I have to say the supply in retail stores of Lego generally (locally) is shocking... I don't know why this is? I also live in the South (and slightly West) and the proximity of a Lego store is quite frankly shocking! However, I am pleased to inform you that Space police III sets are at the UK Lego brand stores AND are on the S@H new items page but are listed as not available. I was hoping they would be avilable on Monday or Tuesday! Quote
Rocketbilly Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I know the feeling about LEGO stores in the UK. Nearest one to me was Birmingham, the Bullring one. Birmingham for me is about half an hours' train ride, from the town about 20 minutes away. So it's a long and expensive journey to make. However, I HAVE to make the journey - the specialist hospital I have to go to is a few minutes away from Birmingham City centre.....so, every scan or test I had to have, I got a trip to the LEGO store......but.....it's closed down now. Now there are NO Lego stores even remotely close to me.....Brighton? that's at least five hours away...... I just hope S@H can keep up with the demand for Space Police from us UK customers. WIll/Rocketbilly Quote
Batbrick Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Oh, missed the pitstop. Impressive figs for the set, and the colours are cool, but I'm hoping a more detailed picture will do it justice because it looks a little bare right now. Batbrick Away! Quote
Svelte Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 The missing pics of 5973 and 5974 from yesterday are now up at S@H for those interested. The Galactic Enforcer looks amazing! Not sure about the way the prison cells break in half to be used, though Quote
