Master of jedi academy! Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 In Finland, In cinema now they put LotR movies again now special extended edition's (longer than normal) I have Two Towers movie (longer one) IT'S GOOD! ^_^
Jipay Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 I got the long edition with the DVD of EP I, and it was soooo lonngg ! I almost fell asleep before the end. I can hardly imagine seeing the all 3 movies in long editions one by one. Lord of th ring is the kind of movies I watch one time, maybe two but not that much. I mostly bought the dvd to know about special effects (I was fond of special effects). I know that here for SW EPI they used to show the entire old trilogy before showing epI, but it is Star Wars, so I can watch it 100 times, and I'll ask for more :P (just like star gate)
ApophisV Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 hehe, i'm planning a matrix night with my friends, that means matrix, animatrix, matrix reloaded, matrix revolutions... ;) but lotr extend, all three parts at one day.... no... ;)
jonfett Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I have the first 2 lotr films on Extended, I would love to see tham all in one go but it would be over 10 hours! I dunno about the matrix though, I wouldn't last to see them! Jon.
DoubleT Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 What about 6 star wars movies ? :< What about them? lol
jonfett Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 To start with one was a gamble... it paid off. The next two lived up to the first and they were great. Some time passed... Anther one? A prequel? Hmm.. it was worth a shot, it was ok.. good for the younger generation.. not so good for the older fans Another sequel? it was a bit better than the last but still not to go. So, with enough money and lisences to retire for life.. and a brilliant original trilogy to protect. George goes and blows it all on the chance to make a third.. will it pay off? time will tell. Jon.
Master of jedi academy! Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 if star wars is extended and watch thay all would be 15 hours! (only :crying: )
Jipay Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 To answer Jon : I'm pretty sure EP III will be an absolute great film. And don't forget that it makes the link between the old and new trilogy !
ApophisV Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 a friend told me that the third extended will be 4:18 h (!!!!!!!).... i wasn't able to confirm this... so has anybody infos on this?
sam89 Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 a friend told me that the third extended will be 4:18 h (!!!!!!!).... i wasn't able to confirm this... so has anybody infos on this? I think it'll be 4 hours 10. It's supposed to be 50 minutes longer than the original version.
ApophisV Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 and do you know which scenes are extended?
sam89 Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Well . . . *Spoilers* There's lots. Saruman has been added in at the beginning when they go to Isengard. Sam and Frodo go to the Crossroads, Gandalf confronts the WitchKing, the Mouth of Sauron's in it, and lots more things aswell.
ApophisV Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 cool!!!! :D november, right? can't wait!!! :)
jonfett Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 * * * * * * * * Saruman has been added in at the beginning when they go to Isengard. Sam and Frodo go to the Crossroads, Gandalf confronts the WitchKing, the Mouth of Sauron's in it, and lots more things aswell. Cool, these are some great bits from the book which I missed from the film. Sarumans scenes should be good, too bad theres no Scouring of the shire. Gandalf confronting the witch king was in the movie trailer but not the film, which was odd. So now we get to see it. The mouth of Sauron was good in the book as well, he shows Aragorn and co. Frodos mithril.. so they think its all over, but it isn't. Well it will be a great dvd and I can't wait to get it.. plus, November is my Birthday!!! Yay! *Smeagol Mode* Its my birthday and I wants it... We will take the precious for me!!! For us.. Yes, I meant for us.. *gollum* *gollum* My brithday present... Jon.
sam89 Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 cool!!!! :D november, right? can't wait!!! :) Actually I think it's December this time :( It's because it took a lot longer to round up all the cast and crew for the commentries since they're all in different parts of the world. The release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but the rumours say it's December 7th.
ApophisV Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 doesn't matter for me, i'll get the extend on christmas anyway...
Precious Jazz Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I heard Eowyn fights Gothmog in the EE. I hope this is true I hate that pig-faced orc I hope she kicks his butt! :D I'm really looking forward to the new Saruman scenes. I don't get why they were left out in the force place. Gandalf vs. Witch-King sounds exciting.
Luigi Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I got the long edition with the DVD of EP I, and it was soooo lonngg ! I almost fell asleep before the end How can you say that :o I have the two extended versions and it's fabulous, the film is longer (not boring tsss) but there is a lot of bonus, not only special effects, but the film commented by actors and realisator and scenarists, the problems they had to translate the book in a film, and more and more I think there's a way to hide spoilers * try Anakin Skywalker WILL BE Darth Vador hurmf there is white color here .... edited by Jedi B-jon :P About the return of the king it's possible it will be so long because the film was long without extentions ... it will be great :D
ApophisV Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 now, i would never say that lotr is "boring".... but... i wouldn't watch any of the movies (no matter if extended or not) when i'm tired... in fact they ARE long and even if they are very excellent from the beginning to the end, watching 3 or more hours in one piece isn't easy for everybody... ;) (at least not for me...)
Jipay Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Same here ! I was tired, can't say to myself : go on dude, watch 9 hours of a movie yu've already seen twice. Well it's working for SW, not for LOTR. (EP IV : Watched 53 times :P )
ApophisV Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 i saw the first two movies each at least seven or eight times.... the third i saw one time in cinema and one time on dvd, but this will change when the thrid extended is released!!! :D but betweem each view (except in the week before i went to rotk) was at least one month time... jipay: you really counted how often you watched the star wars movies???? wow....
DoubleT Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 53 times?ehm.............. I have never seen a movie twice in the cinema.....
ApophisV Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 i've seen one movie twice in cinema: american pie (1)!!!
