Quarryman Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 When will this raffle take place? I guess it will take place once all the 50 tickets have been sold. Which leads me to my question: how many tickets have been sold? Quote
BillytheKid Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Let me count. 50*5 dollars is 250 usa dollars. Let the pieces cost around 100 usa dollars and the person who organize this raffle is 150 usa dollar richer . Good thinking. Maybe this person has also have to pay for these pieces. Quote

"this person" is EB. EB runs at a loss, most of which Jipay pays out of his own pocket. (None of the staff are paid either.) Aside from being a bit of fun and a good way to get some rare pieces cheap, this raffle is a way to help offset these costs. I hope I've made it clearer for you. Quote

That person would be Eurobricks. Whatever money we make (or some time loose) goes into the EB fund. The fund pays for the server and future raffles and so forth. Also shipping is to be paid for. Finally we've also got a free raffle going with free shipping worldwide - that doesn't come cheap. We'd never allow individuals to gain from EB. Heck even the staff can't participate in order to keep this "clean". Noone is forcing anyone to participate. Quote
BillytheKid Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I just thought some-one wanted to make a profit with this action. If the profit is for keeping eurobricks in the air then I'm sorry I reacted this way. I too want to build set 4999 form scratch. If some parts are not in the right color, I don't care much. At least I've the stickers and a printed instruction. Quote

If the profit is for keeping eurobricks in the air then I'm sorry I reacted this way. It's OK. Hinckley does say at the start... All proceeds will go to Eurobricks operating costs (software, server, etc...) ...but maybe we should have been clearer. Quote
Hinckley Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 I just thought some-one wanted to make a profit with this action. Actually, you made an assumption. If you thoroughly read the first post, instead of just making accusations, you'd see that it says "All proceeds go to EB operating costs." Make sure you know what you're saying before you go accusing people. Otherwise, you could look foolish... EDIT: Oh, Sinner already pointed that out. Quote
Siegfried Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 It's interesting that the plate... ...has never been done in white before. I even thought I had one; but Bricklink seem quite sure that I can't. Red is a rare colour too it seems... I guess that explains why the X-Wing has one in blue! Quote
Hinckley Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 We still have some tickets left, so grab one now while you still have a chance... Quote
Shadows Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 We still have some tickets left, so grab one now while you still have a chance... Shut up and stop taunting me, you know staff isn't allowed and I'm drooling over those green burps. Dammit. Quote
BillytheKid Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Well, it was my lucky day yesterday. I found those rare pieces to build that fantastic windmill.......Yiehaaa ...... Quote

Siegfried Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Had they fallen between the car seats? I've found some surprising things in my navel from time to time. Quote
Svelte Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I've found some surprising things in my navel from time to time. If you found 4 green BURPs there then you should probably reclassify your 'navel' as a 'portal'. And call the police. And an ambulance. And probably Oprah. Quote
Shadows Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I've found some surprising things in my navel from time to time. As have I. What I was doing looking in your navel is a bit hard to explain though... Quote
Hinckley Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 May i still buy a raffle ticket? No, because you are staff, silly... Quote
Capn Frank Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 No, because you are staff, silly... Can my brother buy a raffle ticket? J/K I didn't see that part. Nevermind. Quote
Dragonator Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 So, ah, how many more of these do you have to sell? Quote

Hinckley Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Tikets are being sold slowly, so sorry for the delay. I'm getting about 1 or 2 a day. There are still a few left, so if you're interested-grab a ticket now! Thanks... Quote
Hinckley Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Please PM me only once after you've purchased a ticket. As always, you will not receive a confirmation before all the tickets are sold. If I have a payment that doesn't match up, I will seek people out, but do not PM me more than once to confirm your paypal payment! Quote
Trier Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Where can you find the instruction set for building this set? A shame I got my account at this site too late to take part in this raffle, I would have lived to join.. Hope similar raffles will be made in the future! Quote
Hinckley Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 In order to sell the last remaining tickets, we will allow people who have already entered a chance to buy a second ticket. We should be ready to draw for this by Friday even if all the tickets haven't been sold. Thanks to everyone for making this a great raffle and to CopMike for providing the pieces. Quote
