KinGanon Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Well I got the King's Castle Seige yesterday(scored one at Walmart, but had to find it in the top shelf in the fitness isle ) Anyway, I built the castle and I noticed that the swords are very flimsy, and it seems its made of cheap plastic, is it just me or have sword always been made like this? Because I recall them being a lot sturdieer. Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 It might just be you, all my swords do have a certain amount of bend but they're strong nonetheless. I'd guess that it's just a production error or something. Quote
Lego Parrot Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 They've always been somewhat flimsy, but not one in my collection of swords hasn't broken. Get another Castle set and see if those swords are as flimsy. Quote

It must be, since the new classic sword is made exactly as flimsy as the KK swords. I'd rather have the old ABS version, but I can live with the current state of the plastic. Just as long as they keep the oversized hideous KK swords far far away from the new Castle theme. Quote

Just as long as they keep the oversized hideous KK swords far far away from the new Castle theme. I'm not sure if it is more flimsy plastic-wise, or if it is more of a color issue. In the current color the plastic seems to be a little bit transparant for light, giving it a somewhat flimsy appearance. If the color was dark (bl/gr)ey (as is the current axe) it would look more sturdy, because it wouldn't be so transparant. Just my thoughts. Kind regards, Teddy Quote

Yes that's also a way to think about it. The new pearl light gray/pearl silver does make it look a little less strudy than the colours used previously. Still I think it adds that metallic sense to the weaponry. I still fancy the brown spears and dark grey swords more though Quote

Actually now I'm thinking about it I noticed I had replaced most of my new swords and all my spears by alternative weapons. Just prefer that sturdy look I guess. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 They seems the same to me, while I'd like a return to brown spears I have no problem with swords. Quote

KinGanon Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Yeah I meant the new ones as opposed to the old ones I think LEGO might use a cheaper plastic to help keep price down Oh well I like the old ones wayyy better since I'm afraid to even touch the new ones because I think they'll break Quote
