ILikePi Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) Wow...that person is either very lucky or very greedy. If he/she lives in the US, then he/she owns 0.36% of the 10,000... It might not seem like a lot, but there are around 300 million people in the US... I would be happy if I even just got one. If I did, I probably wouldn't even try to get a second one, let alone 36. EDIT: Well, I wouldn't be mad if he/she bought them from places like BrickLink or eBay, though. But if he/she knew how to get them from unopened sets, I would be really mad. Future74 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I refuse to believe that this is chance:36! Dang... I think this is a re-seller who has checked all the boxes. I feel sorry for all his customers I've given up hope of getting one... Quote
mutley777 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 This guy owns a lego shop in indonesia and i would guess that he has been sent them form TLC for promotions and other stuff. Click DeBrick! Quote
The Who Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 And those 36 don't include the ones he has opened. What is sad is that he can't spell C-3PO. Seriously? It was on the bag! Quote

The picture that he took of the C-3PO was also badly out of focus... If he works at LEGO, or had the chrome Vaders sent to him by LEGO, I wouldn't mind that he has all of those. If he doesn't, and just got them from normal sets, knowing that they had them, I would be very mad. I would be even more mad if he tried to sell them... Quote
KimT Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Stay cool guys, You've got no idea as to what his intentions are and you've got no right to point fingers at him. He has a store and if he got those for promotional events - then I believe he'll use them for that. TLG is pretty good at spotting thieves and stuff like that. He wouldn't want to ruin his own business, would he? He's just showing off and I am more than sure I'd do the same if I had a store and got those send to me Quote
hrjoe Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 For sure, 10 sets of the collection is already sold out on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130299486049 Quote
KimT Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Hmmmm... Hopefully this statement is right then: Question : Where I got these extra rare-US only-limited edition of Chrome Darth Vader sets? Answer : I bought and open almost 1.000 set of 2009 Star Wars set, mostly 8014, 8015 and 8018. And yes, it sound insane... If not, then he's a cheater abusing his store connection. Quote
ILikePi Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) That question is still a bit misleading, however... He said that it was a US only promotion, but it was also availiable in some other country (Sweden?) if you pre-ordered the Darth Vader's TIE Advanced set. EDIT: There's around 85,000 Chrome Vaders on Earth, and around 10,000 are/were in the US. Edited April 18, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Zorro Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I know the designer lives in Sweden and that he got authorization for an action in Sweden only. So in fact its not 100% US only. I don't know about other countries though. Quote

If some time was to be spend reading this topic, then you'll all discover that the total number of Chrome Vader figs have already been confirmed and it's also been confirmed how many are in NA and there's even been several hints as to where the rest are going. I've posted amore information in the Rebelscum forums:http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?...&PHPSESSID= (scroll down until you see the photo Ras provided - the new info is directly below the image) Here's a heap of info from LEGOScum on the subject for you lazyheads not reading the entire topic. From Steve the Lego Rep at FBTB Hey ya'll, I wanted to clear this up a bit for you guys. The Chrome black Darth Vader is going to be randomly inserted in 2009 sets in the US just like the chrome gold c-3po was in 2007. this means it won't be in battle packs or retail exclusives (including shop@home, target, wal-mart, etc.). There will be around 10,000 just like last time and it will be a luck of the draw thing, just like last time. the one's in Europe right now are part of a special promotion and I believe it will probably be the only way to get them in Europe. rest of the world is probably out of luck again, just like last time. anyways, I figured you'd want the straight scoop. Don, I don't hate you, I didn't answer any emails about that until I had a clear direction from marketing for what I could say :) Steve So, which is right, 85,000 worldwide or 10,000 USA only?! Just look at the dates of those posts. Reading topics would probably prevent massive posting like in this one, resulting in the loss of important information Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I like the Chrome Vaders, but I don't buy enough Lego sets to be able to have a chance to get one. Quote

It was on the bag! oooopps, I mispelled the C-3PO. I was very happy when I get this C-3PO and took a picture with my phone's camera...I will fix it then about the DVs.....yes I have a Lego Shop but since the DV's only available in US ( and in poland, and in sweden ), I cann't buy the DVs from Lego. I'm only a reseller and I have to buy sets from the Lego representation in my country. And the sets will be Asia version, not US version. I know a friend in US who bought several thousand set of 8014 to build an army. He found the DVs but didn't have time to put them in ebay so I bought them all...... if the DVs was a promotion then I might have at least 1000 of that  Edited April 20, 2009 by victor2000 Quote
ILikePi Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) Oh, OK. I'm sorry about what I said... Edited April 19, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Big Pete Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I had it confirmed with a reply to a letter I sent to the Lego CEO complaining about the glut of USA exclusives, that the UK will be getting some Chrome Vaders later this year. They will NOT be randomly placed in sets, as that's not allowed here, but the exact distribution method is undecided / unpublished. So, the advice is to watch the website for info. that's about it for now ... Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Does Australia get a chance for Chrome Darth Vaders... IT'S C-3PO! Quote
victor2000 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 sorry sorry, just want to make some fun  by the way, after comparing the chrome C-3PO and the chrome DV, I must say that the DV is far better than the C-3PO. Quote
Asuka Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I guess the hype´s over. Today I visited my local TRU and they sell these chrome-black Darth Vader polybags regularly for € 9,99... he looks pretty well oiled, somehow... Quote
Oky Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Are you kidding? That's excellent! That must be the same type of promotion that victor2000's shop is providing. I'll have to go check if my TRU has it too! Though I'm not sure if it's worth the money. Oh well, one can always sell it. Hm... if they start giving out Chrome s like that, perhaps he is the special S@H offer on May 3 & 4 after all... Quote

I presume you picked up a few? I wish these were available in New Zealand, it's going to be very hard for me to get hold of one at a good price. Quote

I thought they will be in just a few sets, but thats a pretty good way to beat MrCool[CopMike->CLICK HERE]! So I hope, they will sell them in Germany, too 'Bricks' Edited April 27, 2009 by Bricks Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 In a german LEGO Star Wars forum a few members said that Vader only costs 4,99€ and is available at the cashpoint of EVERY TRU in Germany and Austria. Actually, they are meant to be a gift at every full 25 Euros a customer spends on LEGO Star Wars sets but it seems nobody cares about it. Quote
diabloiij Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 WOOOHOOO !!! Wow everybody have multiples now, seems like there are way more than 10,000 Vaders out there, the 10,000 initial information could be wrong now since the "Vaders won't be in battlepacks" rumor is incorrect as well. Quote
