Navy Trooper Fenson Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Wow everybody have multiples now, seems like there are way more than 10,000 Vaders out there, the 10,000 initial information could be wrong now since the "Vaders won't be in battlepacks" rumor is incorrect as well. In the first post of this page, in a cuote, stands: There's around 85,000 Chrome Vaders on Earth, and around 10,000 are/were in the US. The german Wikipedia says that there are 58 stores in Germany, 13 in Austria and 5 in Switzerland. In the german forum, the users said that their stores had two to five boxes with Vaders (100 in every box). That means there are 15.200 to 38.000 Vaders alone for Germany/Austria/Sitzerland. Quote
GoN2Broadway Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) I live in Michigan, USA, and I've been looking for a Chrome Vader since they came out... I still haven't found one yet I'd love to take a trip to Europe to get some of those Vader's from the Toys R Us stores there! I went to my local TRU, and unfortunately found nothing! I'm still keeping the dream alive though! If anyone wants to help make that dream become a reality, let me know Edited April 30, 2009 by GoN2Broadway Quote
-JD- Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Are the DVs in TRU stores in the UK? And how much do they cost? Just want to be sure. Edited April 30, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote

And the Europeans always complain that they are worse off than us! A few weeks ago I actually contacted the Lego corporation (before we had reports of Chrome Vader's being sold in Europe) inquiring whether I could purchase a Chrome Vader separately as I was having a hard time finding one, and this is the response that I got: "I can certainly appreciate your desire to obtain additional STAR WARS™ figures and accessories. Unfortunately, we are unable to send Star Wars mini-figures out separately due to our strict licensing agreement with Lucas Film, Ltd. If you would like to purchase sets that contain the figures you are looking for, you would have to buy the set it comes in. This figures were inserted in random Star Wars™ sets. We unfortunately do not have the ability to identify these particular sets, since they are random. I wish there was more that I can do for you, but my hands are a little bit tied when it comes to license mini figures. If it was up to LEGO we would sell them separately, but it is not up to us." Apparently they can sell them separately lol! (This is nothing against any members from Europe getting a chance to get this wonderful figure, but it does seem funny to me that they tell me one thing, and then sell it separately somewhere else!) They already are at 50$ each, after three days. A few weeks ago I actually contacted the Lego corporation (before we had reports of Chrome Vader's being sold in Europe) inquiring whether I could purchase a Chrome Vader separately as I was having a hard time finding one, and this is the response that I got: I have a feeling that the employee missunderstand the Chrome Vader as another LEGO figure, because this response does gets everybody who wants to claim a LSW figure part (like a helmet). Oky Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Good point. But since it's part of a promotion, I'm guessing that that's just another one of those loopholes that TLC found in that contract. And they can't sell it here because we already have the other promotion going on. And who knows, maybe it's the Chrome DV that they are selling on May3 & 4! Btw, I didn't mean to be mean to our fellows in Europe in my post above. I just find it funny how people always complain even though there isn't much of a reason to do so. I would assume the same thing Oky Wan. We had the first chance to get the Chrome Vaders, but since it wasn't going on in Europe, perhaps that is the reason for them being unable to sell them separately here in the States. I am also holding out a slight hope that May 3 and 4 will offer us a chance to purchase a Chrome Vader, or get him if we spend so much money (although, that is dangerous as my wallet is already spread thin). I have been saving up for the UCS Falcon, so maybe that may be a good time to get it? Quote
victor2000 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 (edited) I guess now it's my time to get mad....... still have 16 DVs to sell.........but at 9.99 euro, I guess I just keep them in the box and hope the price will be rise again. Maybe 10 years from now.......... I will try to contact the Lego representation then, hope they can supply me the DVs....... huhuhuhuhuhuhu Edited May 1, 2009 by victor2000 Quote

They don't have any Vaders and aren't even aware of them. I'd mentioned how they were available in the US and throughout Europe but they said that UK promotions differ from the other regions... o rly? I thought... Anyone else had better luck? The polybag don't have product code. Other lego set in polybag had the product code (the orient expedition series, city series etc). That mean Lego never thought about selling the DV separately. so if somebody really buy the DV at TRU, please inform which TRU, so other can buy it too and confirmed. or this is just a hoax......... so I guess I'll wait until my friend in germany confirm about this DV-at-TRU things.......if it is true then I am in deep trouble.......but if this is just hoax then I'll be back to business :D :D :D Quote

The only reason you have no many is to make profits out of folks that can't them otherwise. I bet you didn't pay massively for them and if you did, then it's your own fault, because we all knew the large numbers of these things and the fact that they'd be more widely available eventually. i think it's great that the bricklink price has dropped from $120 when they first appeared to around $20 now. I fully expect it to drop lower as more and more become available. In years to come, the price might go up, who knows. As I said, if you lose out then I'll be happy ... I'm not a great fan of profiteering en masse!! Quote
Old Jim Kenobe Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hey Everyone, my first post after lurking around for ages. My girlfriend just visited the TRU in Frankfurt, Germany, they are not selling individual Chrome Darth Vaders and are apparently under lego instruction not to do so. To get a chrome vader you have to spend over 26 euros on lego (so I asked her to pick me up the new Tie Fighter). The chrome vader is then given out as part of a promotion. Dont know whether all TRU shops are being that strict about selling the Chrome Darth Vaders, and the price of 4.99 euros per Chrome Darth Vader is just a nominal price set by lego. Hope it helps, was a bit gutted myself that I couldnt pick up another vader for the office. Cheers - Jimmer Quote

But in the store near me you only could get the Chromies by buying a lego set which costs over 25 euros. I got two. I bought the Attack Shuttle and the TIE-Fighter. I don't know why some sell them at the cash and why the other only give them to a set. But I wanted to buy some of the new sets anyway. Greetings Lion Quote
Danthebrick Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 After following this saga for weeks and weeks from the UK I finally buckled and searched international ebay sellers. There are loads from Germany listed ranging from £27 - £100. I got a £27 (obviously!) and figure that even if a similar offer reaches the UK (buy one for £5-£10 or free when u spend over £25 on lego) I haven't been ripped off completely as there is always the chance I miss out completely. alsonar Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Message from LEGO, this refers to the UK Chrome Vader promo: I am sorry, you seem to have been given the wrong date I am afraid! This promotion will be held exclusively by Toys'R'Us, but not until the 7th of June this year. You will be given one of these chromed figures when buying a LEGO Star Wars set apparently. But only as long as stock lasts! Quote
-JD- Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks alonsar! I will get two of these chromies hopefully, with the new releases. Greetings, JD Quote
The Rancor Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks for that info alsonar Finally, the actual date when the promoyion SHOULD hit the UK. I'll have to do what Jammiedodger is doing and purchase each new set I want separately! That means more chromies for me 1.) To not open and save as a valuable 2.) To open and display 3.) To use in dioramas, battles etc. Quote

General Armendariz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Why is everyone getting chrome DV's I want one! I live in the U.S. How are they giving them away? Quote
