This is really interesting, I like how the players are looking at the little details... anyways, Dragonator, is this your Dragon's Retreat MOC? If so, did you add on to it? It looks spectacular from what I've seen so far.

Thanks mate, this is indeed my Dragon's Retreat MOC, at least all the exterior photos are. I haven't added anything to it though, in fact I'm in the middle of tearing it down as I need to start my entries for the CCCVI. :pir-grin: All interior photography is done on small "Hollywood" style MOCs; that is they are just rough MOCs for the purposes of the photographs only. :pir-classic:

(OOC: It should be noted that you are not required to put your actions in bold, I'll still see them if you don't.)

I like doing it, though, it's kind of fun to bold it. More noticeable for the other players as well! I'm having much fun so far.

Hehe, I just love all these clues popping out everywhere.

But I have to curse all you Americans for living in the opposite side of the world! It's not nice to wake up and see that there's three pages worth of posts since I last posted in the games, but I guess there's nothing that can be done about it...

Just don't forget that you have an European lady in your presence!

Edit: A suggestion to make this game run more smoothly, if you may? How about we make a rule that allows an individual character to return to previously visited rooms alone to look for clues, but an advancement to a new room would have to be made as a group? I think it would clear things up a bit as to who gets to decide when we move on.

I agree on the suggestion. As for american timing, I think we are dommed : they are definitly the ones posting the most :pir-hmpf_bad:

Ah, thanks. :pir-classic: Even so, these little MOCs are pretty cool. As for the little clues popping up, like the key, I wonder what would happen if the players didn't search the area. They could be trapped in the manor forever! :pir-tongue:

Indeed...

Well, that's the end of chapter one, and I must say you have all been playing exceptionally so far. But things are only going to get harder. :pir-skull: I think congratulations are in order for TheBrickster, who solved the cryptogram so fast; I had thought you would all be working on that together for a while at least. :pir_laugh2:

Chapter two will be up on at the end of the weekend, so be ready to start looking for some real clues then...

That was amazing, TheBrickster. You solved that by the time I blinked. I hope there are more, so I can beat you to the next one.

Seriously guys, try out this site. You'll be surprised how quickly you learn patterns in codes and junk.

Indeed, he solved it within a few minutes before anyone of us could really decphier or grasp the understanding of the code. It's nice to see the first chapter ended off with a great start.

I am sure Draggy won't use this site anymore for any reference of clues. :pir_laugh2: It's a very cool site, and I never knew such things are so easily available in the Internet. Well, I supposed this is the way of life in the Internet. :pir-tongue:

Hey I made that up myself! It probably took me longer to make it than it took Brickster to solve it... :pir-cry_sad:

Ahem, anyway, um, yes. :pir-blush: Let's see if I can't make a harder one... :pir-look:

No no. That site doesn't give Draggy anything. It's a place to practice deciphering codes. It'll give you a quick glimpse into how TheBrickster solved it so fast. Not all people solve it as fast as he did, but it's possible to learn to solve them very fast with a little practice. Dragonator made up a key for a cipher and TheBrickster broke it in less than two minutes... The site I posted is just a place to challenge yourself with fun puzzles...

Sorry Dragonator. Err, I take back my earlier words. :pir-cry_sad: Opps. :pir-tongue: Please forgive the senile WhiteFang.

I thought it was a reference. :imperialguard_commander1: Oh geez, I have broke Dragonator's heart. You guys are making me feel so embarrassed about my words earlier, that I should turn to an ostrich, hiding under the hole right now. :pir-blush:

Ohhhh, matrimony!! :pir_bawling: What, can you not see I'm trying to soliloquize? Wah wah wah...

(Oh WhiteFang, don't feel that way, I'm just overreacting like I usually do :pir-wink: )

Boo hoo hoo.... :pir-cry_sad: *snivel*

But seriously, my new personal challenge is to try and stump TheBrickster. :pir_laugh2: Although that's probably impossible, he's just too good. Ah well, I'll just have to make do with the rest of you. :pir-tongue:

Thanks fellows - I'm really not that good, but I enjoy solving mysteries, riddles, codes, and this sort of stuff.

If there is another cryptogram, and I solve it, I'll keep it to myself so that others might be able to crack it.

The link that Hinck provided does give some good insight as to how one can go about cracking one without a decoder - looking at letter frequencies, two-letter words, etc.

What really annoys me about the cryptogram is that when I tried decoding it just before going to bed last night I didn't see that 'g' could be 'l', (that 'b' was either 'o' or 'e', and most likely 'o' was pretty much a given, and also that one of the three letter blocks were 'the'), which I think was the key here. Though I probably wouldn't have thought about 'chimney' being the long word anyway. Still, loved the cryptogram, great to see that there is stuff in the game that can be entertainment for the rest of us (I hope there will be more) :classic:

I know it might be asking too much, but it would really help if you could provide us a photo of the entire room we're investigating, even if it has to be wall by wall. I find it hard to put everything that is described to their places in my mind, so seeing them in a photo would be most helpful.

Could you do that for us? For me? Pretty please?

I would but I, um, didn't build the whole room. Sorry. I purposefully did it in this case however as the idea is that there are a lot of things in the room, many of them distractions, which is designed to make it harder for you to find the real clues.

Congrats to all players so far. IS and Hinck, how are you going to kill eachother this time?

Just out of curiusity, has anyone guessed yet? (Draggy?)

I considered pushing him down the dumbwaiter.

Why would we do that, it wouldn't be nice! You're trying to cause trouble, aren't you? :sceptic:

If you come up with any ideas, pm me.

I suppose the only way to get someone killed in this game would be to try to get them to guess wrong three times... :look:

It will be challanging, but I'm sure you'll both figure out a way. I have faith in you!

Yeah. I plan on winning by killing everyone in the game by having them all guess incorrectly.

No, not yet.

If anyone can get each other killed, it will be those two. If Shadows had asked to push Hinck down the dumb waiter shaft I probably would have let him. To late now though. Wait what? Who said that? :look:

We'll be moving on to the next room just as soon as I get the write-up done. I think this might also be a good time to tell you that I will be away from Friday until Tuesday, but I will leave something for you to do.

In terms of future chapters, this current one will end Christmas Day, and the third chapter will begin around the 2nd of January. This is to give everyone a chance to enjoy the holiday festivities, as well as because I'll be away then too. After that we shall improvise. :sweet: Besides, there is no reason to rush this game, right?
