I recently uploaded an LDD model I made, into my bricklink wanted list. Now, I wish to buy all the parts, so I go to "By Shop" and look at some of the options. Only, how do I know whether this shop has all of the items on my list, or just some? I've clicked on some shops, and they only have 1 page of my items, but others have several pages.

Well when you use a wanted list it will list the shops with the total number of items then unique number in brackets next to it, this way you can tell if the shop has 10 of the items etc.

Any Bricklink Mods know which bricklink category will this fall under when some land on bricklink?

The part has just come out, in a new star wars set "rancor pit". It is black in the set, this is a dark bley one someone got from lego direct.

Hi Everyone,

I have a huge amount of parts I want to order on BrickLink. I took a look, but all the Dutch stores sell far to few parts that I need. I guess I would need to place at least 20 orders with different shops and the posting costs are just too high (and are increasing about every 6 months, sigh). So, I was thinking of extending my view beyond the Dutch borders.

So, this is my question. Does anyone know of a good, reliable (big) European store that suits these demands?:

- a large variety of parts and colours of parts

- preferably a large number of the same part

- prices per part are about average or somewhat higher (Dutch stores are more expensive anyway, so I am used to it)

- packaging costs are fair and not to high

If you know of a good store out of the USA please also do tell. I'd rather place 1 big order with 30 euro's sending costs than more than 20 orders of 3 euro's sending costs each.

Thanks,

Swan Dutchman

You pay for shopping by bank transfer or paypal, whichever you prefer. After you place your order, you will receive an invoice which specifies exactly how much you have to pay and using what means. I have never been swindled, but I always make sure to order from shops with good reputations.

Not sure if this is the right subforum for this question...

There's help and tutorials on the Bricklink site itself. What do you actually need to know? It's no harder to fathom than any other online selling site. You search, you find (hopefully!), you add to your basket and then you buy. Simples. Anything specific you want to know, then ask a specific question or contact the seller...

Paying is however you agree with the seller but Paypal is the easiest in my opinion. I've never been conned or heard of anyone being conned. If you are worried, then stick to sellers with big reputations and feel free to contact a seller directly before committing to buy anything. It's certainly no riskier than any other internet purchase...

Is it just me or is starting a post with just the word "Hey" (rather than "Hey guys" or similar) is a bit like starting with the word "Oi!"...?

Cheers

Use the search function or wanted lists to find specific parts/sets you want, look around to see what prices you can get... trawl through a seller's items to see what else you want... put it all in the cart, go through checkout & wait for the invoice! Many hours of fun available on BL, even looking at pics of Lego online is exciting for many of us, let alone having it arrive in the mail...

Recently I have noticed an increase locally in the word "hey" being used in place of (but with the same tone as) "hello". I think it's an American thing. But there was a time here when "hey" was very much like "oi", very informal & impolite/casual, and almost always with an exclamation mark.

I have used this one in the past, maybe this might have the parts you require.

Thank you,

I am familiar with the shop (I ordered some rare chrome pieces there) and they are indeed great. But their parts are pretty expensive too, even pretty normal ones, so I only do small orders there for parts that I can get nowhere else in the right amount.

Does anyone have a method of turning certain parts of the bricklink message boards into an RSS feed? I'm particularly interested in an RSS feed of sales or coupon postings.

Hi, I was just wondering, I understand that bricklink has many different people selling the same set, but what I don't understand is, why are some sellers pricing their items so much more highly, and I mean extremely more highly, than other sellers, when what they're selling is often described to be in the same condition as the more expensive seller's item? Also, is bricklink an auctioning system, or do you simply pay what they're asking with no strings attached, and how reliable is bricklink, and what method of payment do people use? Thanks.

These questions belong in the Bricklink questions thread in the BSTF forum.

To answer your second question, Bricklink is a fixed price marketplace, where you pay the exact price the seller has set. As for your first question, I guess that the asking price varies according to how much the seller has spent to acquire the sets/parts in the first place, the size of their inventory, whether they regularly adjust their prices to the fluctuations of the brick market or not, the country they're located in, etc.

You pay what they are asking, no auctions. As for pricing, the price asked is what the individual seller is willing to part with the set for. Market forces apply. One thing that may account for some price differential is geographic location. How rare is the set in the country or region it is being offered? Etc.

I have found Bricklink to be ever so reliable. Basically though I tend to stick to the same half a dozen sellers that I know will give me a good service. Many of them you can order in the morning get and invoice by dinner time, pay via paypal and you will get it in the post the very next day, the ones I use really are that good, hence why i go back to them. Even on the odd occasion of using a non regular seller the longest I have had to wait for items has been a week and the seller did actually state on his site that as he worked full time he could only post on certain days so I knew that in advance so no complaint.

I find paypal is the quickest and easiest method of payment. For delivery obviously if you choose sellers outside your own country they will take a little longer to get stuff to you. I tend to stick to my own country for buying, it makes things much smoother.

With the price, yes some are listed at very high prices but again look around, find a store in your country that has good feedback and you are certain to get a good deal. Sometimes it is better to pay a little more (Not some of the outlandish ones.) but a few pence more if it is from a seller you trust and have used, especially if you are ordering a lot from them. No auctions though, that price is what it is displayed as.

It seems the questions have been answered already.

But I like the fixed price idea with bricklink. I typically don't ebay unless it is a buy it now anyway and only if it is cheaper than bricklink (which it rarely is).

I typically go to the same sellers too just because I know what I'm getting myself into with them. But there are a lot of great sellers out there and some shady ones. Just make a good judgment on everything. And it doesn't hurt to look around for the best price. A slightly more expensive piece from one seller may end up being cheaper depending on other pieces in the order and shipping costs.

Does anyone know how to look for those whole boxes of CMF's of 60 figs per box? All it shows me are either individual figs or superlots of 16 hmm

Sorry, but there was just one more question I had to ask about bricklink. How do people buy whole sets in the form of purchasing all the bricks individually, and not only afford it, but seem to save money, when each brick is from a different seller? Do they just do a lot of hard research and see what people have the most bricks from that particulat set and then hopefully minimize the amount of people they are ordering from, or something else? Thankyou.
